Geoff's Response

Tl;dr:

Geoff was never, at any point, aware of RH's activities or involved. His silence up until now has been out of pain and horror, not guilt

During he and Griffon's separation, they attempted to sustain the marriage with polyamory. This was completely open and consentual and done in a very mature fashion- he never engaged in anything that she wasn't aware of at any point in their relationship

During that period, and the time after the separation, Geoff attempted to date online. He did end up interacting with several women who were familiar with RT and Achievement Hunter. They were all consenting adults, and Geoff ended up changing his approach to deter possible fans later on because he found the dynamic uncomfortable.

All in all, his story seems in line with OP's backtracking, and there's really no evidence to oppose this being anything but a reach to stoke drama. Believe what you want, I suppose, but I'm inclined to take Geoff's side on this one.

It fucking breaks my heart that Jack feels the need to apologize to us, the community, for all the shit that has happened. I know, and every single person in the community knows how much we mean to this man, and the fact that he just feels so guilty and feels like he let us down and couldn't protect those of us who are the most vulnerable is just crushing.

But then I saw your pinned post show up on my feed. I watched it, looked up what happened, and now I feel nothing but betrayal and contempt for that asshole. I hope his victims get the help they deserve and are able to recover. I hope the company recovers. I hope his friends and family get through this. But I hope HE doesn’t

that’s why i didn’t delete this blog completely, i spent six hours or so on twitter reading everyone’s stories. and when i’d finished with that the stream started, and i watched that video. i didn’t make this sideblog yesterday, it had been a fan blog for years. i was so angry. i deleted everything id ever posted here, my art, my writing, my drafts. that hurt a little, but it was cathartic too. pretty damn satisfying after a minute. i changed my url because i was angry. i know a lot of people would have missed the stream. i would have if i hadn’t been awake and seething at 5am. i know a lot of fans don’t have twitter. and i don’t have a following on twitter, this has always been my site. i went on the tag because i’m a glutton for punishment and i saw people hadn’t seen half the evidence. barely anyone was talking about the stream. i think others posted the video before i did, but most of the victims stories where only on reddit or twitter. i think, keeping the information flowing. making sure people know what’s happening, helped me feel less useless today. ill be keeping this blog up for now. what you’ve said, i completely agree. i hope the girls, AH, everyone involved at events, i hope they can accept that none of this is their fault. hindsights twenty fucking twenty and it hurts. There is one man responsible for every hurt and pain and we’re all grieving for who we thought he was. It sucks. Fuck it’s going to suck for a while. I think AH will recover. I think the community will. Supporting each other, listening, feeling the hurt and rage and grief. we’ll be okay, not yet, and it’s always going to burn, but we’ll be okay
