wow its almost like having autism has permently forced me into a world that i can never fully grasp or understand and has forced me onto disability for my entire life beacuse i cant reliably keep myself alive without a caretaker😍

in all seriousness though this narrative is incredibly insensitive (not to mention ableist) and we really need to stop ignoring higher support needs people in autism advocacy spaces. this is what happens when you refuse to acknowledge how disabling autism can be, please for the love of god just talk to disabled/autistic folks before we start movements like this

I am seeing a bigger increase in people referring to autism as being the "social" disability/disorder.

And I am here to remind you that it is a developmental/neurodevelopmental disorder. And there is another entire half of the disorder along with other issues with social communication that aren't touched on.

There is a reason why social pragmatic communication disorder was made.
