i can see peter as being like a jim/ali - where when ali retires jimmy and him break up/go through a really rough period and ali always thinks they’ll get back together/get over their arguement (especially once jimmy retires) but they don’t

it’s lyrics like “lost you to the lost boys chapter of your life” with the lost boys being the england boys

and then “you said you were gonna grow up and that you were gonna come find me” which is ali thinking that once jimmy isn’t playing (and all the travelling and mental stress that comes with that) they’ll be fine again
