I’ve had this idea in my head for a while; and I’m still extremely surprised that I’m the only person I’ve seen thus far to do vessels stridulating. Come on HK fandom, these are bugs! If they can’t talk normally, let them stridulate instead! XD
(I would have put the stridulating structures on just the cloak, like with cricket wings- but I couldn’t figure out how to pose that and thus went for a more grasshopper-like approach instead, with some of the structures on the proximal/ventral surface of a limb.)
Dear Bug Blogger, why do mole crickets have to exist on the physical plane
Mole crickets are here to be friends! Look at this adorable face
They sort of remind me of tiny lobsters. Very smoochable. Did you know? In Zambia, mole crickets are considered good luck. I also consider them good luck.
Mole crickets are adapted to digging rather than jumping, so chances are they won’t jump at you. Some can’t even fly, although many do. Most are vegetarians, but some eat worms and grubs. They are capable of biting people, but a bite wouldn’t be harmful. Just don’t hassle them and they’ll leave you alone. :)
