It says 1987. That's "Hold Your Fire" area Rush. The album was released by Anthem in Canada and Polygram/Mercury outside of Canada.
The album is produced two singles "Time Stand Still" with Aimee Man and "Prime Mover." "Force Ten" and "Lock and Key" weren't official singles, but charted.
"Force Ten" peaked at number 3 and number 41 in the United Kingdom while "Lock and Key" peaked at number 16 in the United States respectively.
"Time Stand Still peaked at number 3 and in the United States and number 41 in the United Kingdom while "Prime Mover" peaked at number 43 in the United Kingdom. While it may not have been as commercially successful as other albums, it achieved gold status in the United States. It also has a cult following.
What's your favourite song on the album?
Because of this picture, Neil's height has been noted by fans.

Here is an acoustic cover of "Tom Sawyer." The vocals are phenomenal. The guitar work is next level. It's unique. Something different than your usual cover.

Alex and Geddy in 2010 when Rush got their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Neil wasn't there as he was biking to their tour date in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
They got the 2,412th star. It can be found at 6752 Hollywood Blvd..
Donna Halper was on hand for this very deserving honour.

While Neil had social anxiety, he still lived an amazing lived not just as musician but in other facets of his life.
A lot of his travels have been documented, but sit and listen to his untold stories of his travels would be an honour and privilege. The stories of traveling the back roads of North America to small towns is what he loved to do.
He loved the diners and small town pubs where he could sit and talk to people who didn't know who he was.
A lesson we could take from Neil is to not just do the touristy stuff, but go off the beaten path a little. You may end with experiences and memories to last a lifetime.

Rush when they made an appearance on "The Colbert Report" in 2008. Up to that point, it was their first appearance on American TV in 33-years.
It is on the "Retrospective DVD/CD package. They performed, of course, "Tom Sawyer."
For the longest time, you could never find any video of either the interview and or performance. Comedy Central didn't release it to the public. In 2020, Vulture was fortunate enough to get permission from Comedy Central to put the interview in an article.
Now, the whole interview and performance is on YouTube. Hilarious interview. Shows they can laugh at each other and not take themselves seriously all the time.
Go check it out.

Concert Poster of the Day:
Any tennis fans out there? A Music and Tennis Festival is an interesting concept.
This was a charity event in California in September 1990. It featured members of Rush, Survivor, REO Speedwagon, Kansas, America, E Street Band, Lou Gramm, and others.
If you're a tennis fan, the music is just a bonus. I don't know about you, but I would be there for the music. Never been much into tennis.

Alex and Donna Halper. Donna was instrumental in helping Rush breakout in the United States. In 1970s, she was working at WMMS, "The Buzzard" is Cleveland, Ohio and given a Rush album. She played it on air one day and the rest is history.
She's been friends with them ever since. Who knows what Rush might have become if not that moment in music / radio history.

Random Fact of the Day: Rush and Looney Tunes have a connection. You might be wonder thinking, what's the connection between Rush and Looney Tunes?  It has something to do with "La Villa Strangiato" which is off their 1978 Hemispheres. When pdbass connected the two, it blew my mind.  Around the six minute mark of "La Villa Strangiato," that's when the piece starts.  That section is taken from, pianist, Raymond Scott's "Powerhouse, written in 1937.  It was adapted and arranged by Carl Stalling.  "Powerhouse" has two parts.  The second section has been used in various Warner Bros. cartoons, "Ren & Stimpy," and others. Rush was sued for using it, but that statute of limitations had run out and nothing could be done.  They didn't owe him anything.  Upon Rush realizing what they did, they did what they thought was right and wrote him a penance cheque for using his melody. pdbass goes on to breakdown musical aspect of what Rush played.  Fascinating.  This is something I didn't know.  Goes to show that you're always learning something new. Wow.  Just wow.

This is what Rush wanted in their dressing room. This was during "Presto Tour." This particular show took place at the Civic Auditorium Arena in Omaha, Nebraska. Mr. Big was the opener.
They were specific as to what they wanted for food and drink. Some bands and artists put things in these things to see if they pay attention and follow it.
Van Halen would put in to have the brown M&Ms removed for that exact purpose. Always follow what they want if requested.
Someone in the group said they called it and got something. Can't make out the last four numbers. I called what I thought the last four numbers are. Let it ring three times and got nothing.

Today marks the fourth anniversary of Neil Peart's passing. At the time of the announcement of his passing, it sent shockwaves through the music community and through the legions of fans. No matter if you're a fellow musician who was inspired by Neil or just a fan, we all had the same love and admiration for him. Were left in awe by his humility, intelligence, and talent as a musician and writer. Regarded as the best drummer in history, the legacy he left will never be forgotten. A true Canadian and music icon. Suddenly you were gone from all the lives you left your mark upon. Rest in peace.

Just when you think there is nothing more to hear and know about Geddy, Neil, Alex, and Rush, this interview uncovers so much more.  A deeply personal conversation in which they talk about such things as the following. -Resent, grudges, and navigating his way through it -Rush ending, Alex and his health issues, and regretting saying he didn’t want to tour anymore -The loss of Neil and realizing that others have experienced loss (mentions Kim Thayil as he was the interviewer in Chicago) -The endless amount of people wanting to be the Rush drummer and the clickbait headlines about Alex and Geddy The life of a touring rock star, married life, bringing his wife with him on the book tour, and the reaction of Alex when he was announced at Toronto stop. George Stroumboulopoulos gets Geddy to peel back the layers in this must watch interview.  So damn good.
