Jack & Coke
The first known mention of a drink made by mixing whiskey with Coke was in a 1907 report of an employee of the United States Bureau of Chemistry and Soils, who encountered the drink when visiting the South, and said the proprietor called it a "Coca-Cola high-ball". Bourbon and Coke would grow to become a common starting point for introducing novice drinkers to bourbon, according to Dave Pickerell, a former master distiller of the Maker's Mark brand of bourbon.
The term "Jack and Coke" was used in some combined advertising for Jack Daniel's and Coca-Cola, and several products were created as part of this marketing campaign, including bar signs and taps. Around 1996, Jack Daniel's released a canned beverage called "Jack Daniel's and Cola", a mixed beverage of the same type as Jack and Coke, in several markets in the South Pacific, including Australia and New Zealand.
In 2022, Jack Daniel's and Coca-Cola announced the planned release of a ready to drink (RTD) canned cocktail.

I never cared for Lynchburg Lemonade. I always preferred Jack and Coke. But when I went to the distillery, I decided to try it for the first time in my life. And it was honestly life-changing.

Nathan "Nearest" Green
An American head stiller, more commonly referred to as a master distiller. Born into slavery and emancipated after the American Civil War, he taught his distilling techniques to Jack Daniel, founder of the Jack Daniel's Tennessee whiskey distillery. Green was hired as the first master distiller for Jack Daniel Distillery, and he is the first African-American master distiller on record in the United States.

Jack Daniel's Gold No. 27 is a double-barreled Tennessee whiskey made with corn, rye, and barley malt, and charcoal mellowed through 10 feet of sugar maple. It's aged in maple barrels and has a rich, warm finish. Jack Daniel's Gold No. 27 is crafted to the same standards as Old No. 7, but is twice charcoal mellowed.
Some say Jack Daniel's Gold No. 27 has a smooth and mellow palate, light body, sweet taste, and doesn't cause a hangover. Others say it has a soft palate, thin mouthfeel, and plenty of sweet maple syrup and dry oak, with a mild spice developing mid-palate.
I personally have had it only once before and it really was top shelf stuff. Unfortunately it’s been unavailable and as i conducted my research, Jack Daniel's No. 27 Gold Double Barreled Tennessee Whiskey has been discontinued and will not be restocked. It is considered one of the finest Tennessee whiskeys ever released and is expected to become an archive bottlings of the famous Jack Daniel's Brand.
It can still be found in some liquor stores across the country but it’s very rare so if you get your hands on it, treasure it because it is a discontinued item. Although the official website doesn’t confirm this, it does mention that it’s a “limited and a special edition product”

Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey is made using the following steps:
- Grain prep and storage: Local grains are ground and sorted
- Mash fermentation: The grains are mixed with iron-free cave water to create mash
- Distillation: The mash is distilled in copper stills to 140 proof
- Charcoal mellowing: The whiskey is filtered through 72 white oak vats filled with 10 ft of sugar maple charcoal for 3-5 days
- Aging: The whiskey is aged in new charred white oak barrels for over four years
- Bottling: The contents of 200 barrels are combined and reduced to bottling strength using demineralized cave spring water

Got my hands on the Sinatra Select again and even though it’s pricey …. I couldn’t help myself. Who knows when I’ll run into it again !!! The official JD website doesn’t mention that it’s been discontinued, although I’ve heard otherwise … (So naturally had to buy 2!!!)
