Now that the tournament has ended, I do have to say a few things, mainly apologies. Sorry that this is getting YouTuber apology video-ey, I promise I won’t keep making posts like this, I really have no right to be shoving this on most of you.

I really wanted to do more for this final day, but just due to a mixture of being burned out on this by now, dealing with moderation issues in the poll last minute when I really should’ve done them earlier, and things going on in my personal life, I just didn’t have the time to do more than the bare minimum. If you’ve sent an ask, it’s going to be a while before I can actually answer it, though I do hope to at least get most of them out of the way.

I also have to apologize for not really doing my job as a moderator of this. Frankly, I’m just really bad at conflict resolution, and I should’ve at least taken steps to try and make sure that didn’t negatively affect the poll, but I didn’t, and towards the end that created problems that are still ongoing. It was my job to make this a fun environment for as many people as possible, and I dropped the ball hard towards the end there.

I also want to apologize for introducing bias into the polls that I really shouldn’t have. Imediately coming to mind are the Raine v Deku, Wazy v Yuki Shin v Grinch and Neptune v Surge, on top of a post I made on my personal blog where I said I was the pollrunner and advocated for voting for Yuki in the finals. While some of these can be passed off as inoffensive jokes, like the yaoi v yuri joke or the IDs on the Deku polls, the last one especially, the reblog on my main really should’ve just been private thoughts. If you’re planning on being a pollrunner, especially take notes on this. This is an incredibly easy thing to avoid, but one of the most important ones at the same time.

There is so much more I really could say, but I don’t want to drop a full essay of drama on people, so I wanted to keep it as brief as possible here. Know that if you’re one of the people who couldn’t have fun on this poll, I am trying my best to address as many of the issues that I made as possible in as respectful of a way as possible, I just need some time to try and make sure I’m not making the situation worse, which so far, I’ve done a very bad job of. Feel free to send anything to me that you thought I did wrong, and anything I can do to try and make it better.

I will keep as much of this as possible reserved to DMs or other private spaces, but please, do not message me on my personal blog. I’m not going to block anybody, I get that emotions have been running high, and will probably continue to for at least a little while, so you would have to seriously overstep your bounds for me to get to a point where I would block you. Again, just know I might not respond imediately.

Now that we’re entering the last few hours of the tournament, I want to remind everyone that no matter who wins, at least be a good sport about it. People have started to get pretty toxic in the notes, a lot of people being mad that their character isn’t winning (and this isn’t directed towards any one side, I’ve seen plenty of it on both). Please just try to remember, that both characters in the finals have plenty of justification to be there, and fanbases that have fought hard to get them to where they are. No matter who wins they deserve that spot they’ve been given.
