i looooooove an unreliable narrator. it's my favorite thing in the entire world. it adds an inherent depth to the text. it fuels fanfic and headcanons. it makes the reader question every thought, every interaction, every single thing that is happening. it leaves gaps for the reader to speculate. there's an inherent distrust but not because the narrator is LYING but because MAYBE they aren't aware that they are lying. and if they are a KNOWN LIAR TOO? cinema. this post is about neil josten do NOT get it twisted.
