Brace Yourselves
Trump isn’t going away quietly, so let’s be louder. Let’s use our voices on behalf of the Black lives who are unable to, the victims of coronavirus, shootings influenced by his rhetoric.. We can get on the right side of history and speak out against racism and bigotry. So why don’t we?

Why do I still bring this up?
https://www.theguardian.com/film/2020/nov/10/john-boyega-worries-blm-rally-speech-in-june-will-harm-career Again, why is racial equality a BFD? You speak out against racism, and people hate you; in a sense, anti-racism speech makes people MORE racist. Just know, we’re not going to stop. And John Boyega, we are with you 1000%.

As I am about to go to bed, I am still perplexed as to why Black Lives Matter and racial equality are still political issues. The Constitution clearly states that “ALL men are created equal”. Though sure, at the time slaves were considered chattel property, but in today’s day and age, persons of color are considered just that, people!! For anyone still not getting it, pull your head from your racist ass and screw it back on straight!

To Anyone Still Bashing BLM
https://www.theverge.com/21550972/count-every-vote-summer-protests-blm-democrats-activists-organizing-voting-election If you still think Black Lives Matter is a hoax, realize that its members pushed for citizens to vote. Every vote counts according to politicians on both sides of the aisle. Black Lives Matter deserves credit for encouraging Americans to vote, resulting in the most ballots cast in a modern-day election. The Black vote ultimately decided the election and if it didn’t, we might be stuck with 4 more years of division in our nation. If you still have a problem with that, then Black Lives Matter is not the problem.

Defund the Police, explained
Whttps://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2020/11/08/james-clyburn-defund-police-cost-democrats-seats-hurt-black-lives-matter/6216371002/ I saw this happen in my region as well. Republicans scared voters out of voting for Democratic candidates because “they wanted to defund the police”. Some candidates denounced the rumors, but they instead should have explained what it truly means to defund the police. By defunding the police, the department’s budget is shrunk, and the money is allocated to different departments throughout the government. Defunding the police could potentially funnel money towards mental health resources and drug treatment facilities. Instead of the cops showing up to your house and potentially killing you like they did to Walter Wallace in Philly, an ambulance would come and take you to a crisis center. Facts matter.

Thank You
Thank you for voting Trump out of the White House! Although our journey to racial equality is far from over, every step counts. Every voice counts and every vote counts. If Trump cannot seem to accept that, then he can be escorted out of the White House in January 2021. He will continue to spread misinformation, but you know better than to listen to him. So keep protesting in the names of Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, and all our Black brothers and sisters who were mistreated by the police. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are with you.

President-elect Joe Biden owned up to his mistakes and has vowed to do better, though he should have flat out apologized. Regardless of past behaviors, we need to remind him that Black Lives Matter and that racial equality ought to be a top priority of him and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris!

Watch y’all forget about the issues just because a new racist man with a Black friend is in charge.

Your Voice Matters
There will bet trolls who try to convince you that you don’t need to vote, or speak out for what you believe in, and that everything will work out the way you want it to. Don’t listen to them, they are trying to suppress your voice and your vote. Gandhi once said, “You must be the change you want to see in the world,” and his words hold true today. If you want to vote out Trump, go do it. If you want the world to know that Black Lives Matter, go out and protest. Every voice counts in this fight.

Walter Wallace Jr. Bodycam Footage
https://whyy.org/articles/what-should-philly-expect-after-the-city-releases-the-walter-wallace-jr-bodycam-footage/ Tomorrow’s the day that the Philadelphia Police Department is releasing bodycam footage from when its officers shot and killed Walter Wallace Jr. Although there is some evidence supporting the officers’ decision, I just wish they weren’t sent over in the first place. The man was having a mental episode and deserved to be sent to a crisis center for treatment. If he was on drugs, he could be put into a substance abuse program. But Philadelphia lacks the funding for such resources. Although I can’t help but think that Walter Wallace Jr. would still be alive if he were white.

The police really need to be overhauled. Enough of this bullshit already
Daisies and Democracy
Tumblr media
The above photo set depicts a woman handing out flowers at a Black Lives Matter protest in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Zoe Sturges, a 26 year old kindergarten teacher, was arrested on June 6, 2020 after she elegantly handed daisies to police officers and other nearby law enforcement. After climbing over the road barricade, Zoe calmly and peacefully approached the local police officers and gave them flowers as a gesture of peace and love. After being arrested, she was released and cited for “failure to disperse.” It is understandable that she was given a citation because she did cross the barricade and she did not disperse when directed, however the initial arrest was completely unnecessary.
Zoe Sturges’ arrest would have been justified if she had been antagonizing, chaotic, or violent. Instead, she was incredibly loving and graceful; just sharing a small glimpse of happiness and light during such a dark and emotional time. Zoe later said that she was trying to show her kindergarten students what their rights are and that they can fight for what they believe in.
Many people who still disagree with the Black Lives Matter movement will argue that if the protests were peaceful and respectful of our law enforcement, then people wouldn’t be arrested, shot with rubber bullets, tear gassed, etc. However, Zoe was doing exactly that. She was sweet and respectful of the police officers and showed them a piece of kindness they had not seen during the protests. The only thing she did wrong was cross a barricade to give them to the officers and not disperse immediately. That does not justify an arrest. It does justify the citation but she should not have been arrested. The first amendment gives us the right to free speech. How are we supposed to exercise that right properly if people are arrested for sharing their voice? How are we supposed to stand for what we believe in if we are shot, tear gassed, and beaten for speaking out? How are we supposed to respect the people who are meant to protect us and our rights when they try to keep us from fighting for those same rights?
At all protests, the police should do nothing besides watch and protect the people. If there is an outbreak of violence or extreme hate, then obviously the local law enforcement should intervene. However, at most Black Lives Matter protests, the police actively try to stop and disperse the people. It is our right to come together to speak out about what we believe in. It is unjust that police will force those exercising their first amendment to disperse and make mass arrests when they don’t.
The police system is incredibly corrupt with systemic racism, improper training, the use of excessive force, and so much more. We should be allowed to fight for that change. We should especially be able to voice our opinions peacefully, like Zoe Sturges did, without being arrested. Even though she did cross a barricade, she was arrested for handing out daisies.

Kids at a young age are still being exposed to nuclear families with whites married to whites, and blacks married to blacks, even in fiction. When are our children going to learn it’s okay to love whomever regardless of skin tone?
many people in the descendants fandom really couldn’t handle the fact that the typical hot white bad boy of the story was in love black girl. so when it came to fanfiction you guys always wrote him with a white reader, or a white oc. i’ve always noticed this, since the beginning when his character was introduced. i just didn’t say anything. i can see right through yall.
