Im assuming someone has already informed OP that in one of the roleplay sections at the end of the books, there is in fact an entire story about cats getting rounded up in a spay and release program

You've probably answered this a million times, but if a cat isn't a breed mix then what are they? Arent all generic cats a mix of random breeds, aka have some genetics from specific breeds (even if it's all so muddled you can't tell)?

the vast majority of cats are landrace, meaning they do not belong to a breed.

think of it like raccoons - they aren’t a breed, they’re a species. but if you chose a handful of particularly fluffy raccoons, separated them, and bred from them a line of ultra-fluffy raccoons with a closed genepool, then after a few generations you’d have (for example) the Fluffy McBeth breed of raccoon. but the original population of raccoons is not ‘mixed breed’, as they will have no Fluffy McBeth content. if you create several raccoon breeds with closed genepools, the original population will still not be mixed breeds, they’ll just be raccons.

in the same way, most cats are just cats. there are regional differences, and a wide variety of traits and mutations, but 99% of cats are just cats - no breed content.
