A new overlord has manifested in hell seemingly overnight. One that overpowered many if not all of the current overlords in all the right ways. Or will she get her heart broken and turn against them all, burning each bridge she meticulously made.
The Marionette is a heart wrenching fic with many turns you won't see coming. Stay tuned for each of the episodes as they are released.

Nette and Lucifer had ended the night on a rather high note despite the thing with the now fallen winner. They had bid each other goodnight after a bit more teasing and laughing about their new nicknames for each other. Nette had gone to bed smiling, forgetting a bit about the huge issue that was the first man.
Nette woke up and immediately felt a tension in the air. She quickly shot up out of bed and got dressed. Trying to hurry out of her room and down the stairs she forgot her ability to quite literally open portals. She had thrown her hair up in a ponytail and was trying to tie her bow tie on her way down the stairs. She glanced in the mirror that was at the top of the stairs, straightening herself out to be presentable when she heard the very loud voices coming from the main room. When she reached the final step she heard glass shatter in the main room, then one of her boys voices. Slightly picking up her pace she entered the room to see Adam standing in front of her 3 sons seemingly picking a fight with them. While poor Charlie tried to stand between them repeatedly telling Adam he was still injured and to not make any stupid decisions. Nette knew she had to get involved quickly before this escalated more. She quickly did a scan of the room to see who all was there. Only seeing her 3 boys, Charlie, Vaggie, Adam, and Lucifer. “What in the literal hell are the 4 of you doing?” Her 3 boys whipped their heads towards her and the room fell silent. “Charlie. What part of this needs to remain on the ‘down low’ did you not understand? And you-“ Nette turned to look at her boys “you 3 need to sit the fuck down and be quiet. I know the hard feelings you have but you need to understand what is at stake right now. We don’t need all of hell knowing the asshole is here or shit will get ugly. So shut up and sit down” Nette’s voice had dropped back to the tone she had used the first day she had arrived at the hotel, and Lucifer found himself thinking it was rather interesting how easily her voice did. Then thinking how she never used that tone with him.
Nette turned to Charlie again hoping she would explain herself about the matter when Adam suddenly interrupted. “Who the fuck are you bitch, and what makes you think you can come in here like this and interrupt me?” ‘You can call me Marionette, or Nette whichever doesn’t matter right now. I’m an overlord of hell and the mother of those 3. Now if you wouldn’t mind shutting up so the whole fucking pride ring doesn’t hear your unnecessary yapping that would be fan-fucking-tastic” she said while smiling. Adam’s face turned red almost with a new found rage at the fact this women who was absolutely tiny just spoke to him as though he was nothing. He got right up in her face and started yelling at the overlord. “Do you know who I am? I’m Adam the first fucking man, I started everything on earth, who are you to speak to me li-“ Nette snapped her fingers and Adam suddenly stopped talking. Charlie had tried to shove herself between the 2 of them to prevent any casualties or further injuries to the first man (Despite how much he pissed her off at the very fact he was still being a complete dickwad complete;y ignoring his position at this point in time) when she realized he had stopped talking. She quickly turned to look at him realizing there was a stitch pattern across his mouth with a blue colored string. “Nette what the hell you can’t just do that!” She yelled at the overlord. “I gave him a chance Charlie, but you need to understand he isn’t one who is going to listen to anything, especially not reason. Trusting him be quiet and not run his mouth every fucking chance he gets is a mistake.” Nette said to her.

She looked back at the first man before saying “When you earn it you can speak for now all you need to do is listen. Yes we know who you are Adam and that’s the problem. See you were an Angel until- well to be honest we don’t know exactly when you ended up like this but oh well. Anyways you are a sinner now. You are no longer an Angel and that is a big problem. All things considered this is the worst thing that could possibly have happened at this point in time. You being here proves only one thing. That human souls in heaven can fall and become sinners. The exact opposite of what we needed to prove. You being here also puts a large target on the hotel if it gets out. A lot of people down here will want you dead. Like fully dead. The way the exorcists did to many souls down here, and they won’t be gentle or nice about it either. Unfortunately this means you are going to have to stay hidden in the hotel. No leaving, no texting, and no yelling out your name like you did before. Your existence here puts everything in jeopardy. Not only the hotel but your life and ours.” Nette had changed her tone to a less condescending one while speaking to the male. He seemed to understand the importance of the situation, and wanted to say something about it but with the string still stitched across his face he simply couldn’t.
Charlie was looking at the overlord in front of her as she spoke. She had come to realize the fact that she was very good with words. Always finding ways to say things so they could be understood well. Especially important things. “Can you take the string off so he can talk?” She asked the overlord. Nette looked at her then turned her gaze to her father who was sitting looking directly back at her. She nodded before snapping her fingers again allowing the string to dissipate. Adam spoke “How did this happen? How long has it been since the extermination? Why am I even here?” Charlie saw the sad look in his eyes. A stark contrast to the arrogance that was dripping from his voice earlier. She hesitantly said “we don’t know. Me and Vaggie were trying to figure that out while we were caring for your wounds last night, but didn’t find anything of importance. It’s been months since the extermination, and we only found you yesterday. Where did you go? Where have you been? And how did we find you now with the injuries you sustained back then? None of this makes any sense.” Lucifer spoke for the first time since Nette had been there “I’m not sure what happened, but we know for sure you were killed with an angelic blade. So you shouldn’t have been able to come back. This information is unarguably the one that confuses me the most. But this and Everything else can be dealt with in due time. For now we have preparations to work on for the talk with heaven.” He had addressed Nette when he spoke about the preparations for heaven. Hoping she would get the point that he was excusing himself from this, but had wanted to talk to her when she was finished. Nette caught on quickly before saying “yes we will work on that. Give me a minute and I’ll meet you in your office.” Lucifer nodded before excusing himself from the room. Nette turned back towards her boys “you 3 need to behave. I understand your distaste for the situation, but unfortunately there’s nothing we can do. You are to listen to what the princess of hell says, and this was her decision. I’m sure you want to kill him for what happened, but I don’t even know what that would do considering it didn’t quite work when nifty did it. For now just
BE CIVIL” all 3 of the boys grumbled under their breaths about it but had been present for the duration of the prior conversation. So while they didn’t like it, they knew it had to be dealt with.
“Charlie
we need to figure out where he went and what happened after the extermination. Try to see if you can’t figure anything out. Perhaps talking to a few of the sins or even the goetia may provide some answers? For now I’m going to work with your father about speaking to heaven. Hopefully all goes well.” Charlie lit up “Of course! Me and Vaggie will look in the library at the castle and see if there is any more information there, and if not we will probably speak to Asmodeus or Belphegor to see if they have any ideas on the matter. Of course, we won’t say too much. Just enough to get what we need if they have it.” She pulled Vaggie into her side before leaving quickly to get started. “Angel, Husk, Cherri, you can come into the room. I know you 3 were listening in.” Nette said pointedly at the entrance to the kitchen. Angel slowly peeled out from behind the wall looking at Nette carefully. “Listen, I need you guys to watch him.” She gestured to the first man. “The 6 of you should be able to handle that while we get the information we need. Just make sure he doesn’t leave- not that he will, but still- and try to be nice. Don’t blow up the hotel or you’ll be answering to 2 very pissed off fallen Angels and the princess of hell. Understand?” A chorus of “yes” rang out in the room. Nette looked at Adam before taking a few steps towards him before summoning a blue string. She grabbed his hand lifting it up before placing it around his wrist tying it in a bow. The string seemed to disappear from sight, but he could still feel it. “Think of this as a form of communication. If you need me for anything pull it off and I’ll be able to talk to you through it. It’s weird but it works.” Adam nodded at her watching as she turned and began walking towards the stairs to meet up with Lucifer in his office.

Nette made her way back to Lucifer’s apple-shaped office trying to slow her breathing down, feeling her heightened anxiety about everything she was about to have to tell him. She knew he wouldn’t be upset at her- at least she hoped he wouldn’t be. But honestly she thinks he might be since she didn’t throw out the first man as soon as she found out about him. Though she had wanted to, but truthfully she holds no grudge against him other than the fact her boys had almost died to an exorcist. Charlie on the other hand has every reason to hold a grudge against him, and yet
she didn’t. She looked at him seeing what he was going through and allowed him into the hotel. Took him under her wing and cared for him, cleaned his wounds even. The heart this girl has is something Nette finds herself admiring more and more as each day goes on. Truly an angelic heart if she had ever seen one.
As Nette approached the door she could hear Lucifer inside talking to himself. He seemed a bit off? If that was a good way to put it. She could hear his rapid speech and panicked tone through the door. She smiled lightly thinking ‘what could possibly have him stressed out now’ while laughing quietly to herself. She knocked on the door lightly to alert him of her arrival. She heard a quick ‘coming!’ from the other side waiting a sec before the door swung open. She quickly gave the Angel in front of her a once over from head to toe. He had his coat and hat placed meticulously back onto his form. Though she couldn’t help but feel he was a bit overdressed considering when she had spoken to him last he was wearing neither of them. However, when she walked into the room she saw there was a table in the center of the room with flowers, and candles in the center. She placed the plates down onto the table, setting the tray off to the side before looking back at him. She lightly chuckled then saying “you know this isn’t a formal business dinner, right? Just a dinner between friends. No need to be so nervous Luci” seeing him looking around at everything but her. “Ah r-right of course
yes Dinner” He stumbled over his words a bit before settling on “Dinner between friends. I suppose I overdid it a bit. It’s been awhile since I’ve had anyone join me for a meal. I was worried what exactly I should do for
well this situation.” ‘It’s alright Luci no worries everything looks absolutely stunning thank you. but if I had to make one complaint
I do feel a tad bit under dressed at the moment Mr full suit.” Lucifer laughed slightly “well we can’t have that” proceeding to take off his coat and hat once again placing them on the side table out of the way.
Lucifer pulled out Nette’s chair allowing her to sit comfortably before sliding her back into place at the table. “My what a gentleman” she chuckled. Watching as Lucifer’s cheeks turned a light yellow color as he went to his side of the table to take a seat. “I brought a bottle of wine from the bar but I’m not sure if you were wanting to drink, as unfortunately I have another topic I have to discuss with you, but I’d rather wait till we were finished with dinner as I do believe it to possibly be well
uncomfortable” Lucifer looked at her before saying “well if you think it to be so, then I suppose it’s best to wait a bit. And best to not drink beforehand as there is a possibility it might be needed after” he joked lightly. “For this I guarantee it will be needed after” They both began eating the meal Nette had prepared engaging in small talk about the angel’s duties and the hotel staff. As well as, venturing into stories about Charlie and how razzle and dazzle came to be created. After all Nette was a bit curious about the 2 dragon creatures as they seemed to be different from the rest of hell creatures.
The meal went amazing. Afterwards Nette and Lucifer both found themselves sitting on the couch in his office laughing about the story Lucifer was telling about how ducks came to be created in Eden when Nette remembered the touchy subject she had to tell him about. “Speaking of Eden
” Nette paused slightly. “I hate to sour the mood but, I suppose we should get into the unfortunate discussion that I have to tell you.” “Nonsense, give me a sec I’ll open the wine” Lucifer said while standing up walking over to the side table where Nette had left the bottle earlier. He quickly opened it and poured a glass for himself and her before returning, handing it to Nette. He sat down on the other side of the couch facing her taking a small sip before saying “Great choice of wine. Well go on let’s get this uncomfortable topic over with” Nette watched the way he had placed himself seemingly a lot more comfortable with her presence as he was leaning backwards with one leg bent on the couch while the other was hanging over the edge. “Right, well I’m not sure how to tell you this. I was thinking the entire time I was making dinner, then again after I spoke with Angel, and even the entire walk up here. After all that the only thing I could think of was to just be honest and upfront with you about it. Either way I feel you're not going to like it, but
” Nette said taking a small sip then placed her glass down on the table before continuing “I need you to promise me you won’t freak out.” Lucifer smirked “Freak out? Nette, I'm an Angel.” Nette rolled her eyes slightly “I’m aware you handsomely prideful man, but I need this promise okay?” She said hoping he would understand there was a reason. “Of course, I promise I won’t freak out. Devil’s honor” Lucifer said holding 2 fingers upwards smiling at her. Nette chuckled lightly at his devil's honor joke, sighing she continued “Charlie took in a new sinner
..” she started “Okay?” Lucifer said carefully, slightly pushing her to tell him why this was different from the other ones she had taken in. “It’s
 well
He’s a sinner, but he um.” Lucifer set his glass down before leaning into her slightly “Nette it’s okay just tell me I promised I wouldn’t freak out” Nette’s anxiety was through to roof at this point. She thought to herself ‘fuck it’ before saying “Adam is a fallen Angel, or I guess a sinner in this case since he isn’t heaven born I guess he isn’t fallen.” The room fell deathly silent after Nette finished her sentence. You could hear a pin drop, the only sound being both of their breathing. Or wait no Lucifer’s breathing Nette realized she was holding her breath.
“What?.” She heard Lucifer say after what felt like an eternity of silence. “Adam is alive and is now a sinner” she hesitantly repeated looking down at her lap as she was nervous to look at the man sitting across from her. “You said Charlie took in a sinner, is?” “Yes” Nette quickly answered. She felt the room get hotter almost instantly. She hesitantly looked up, meeting Lucifer’s red eyes. She quickly realized he was in his demon form. A form she had never seen him use, one she had hoped she wouldn’t see. Red eyes, horns with a burning flame, wings, and his tail swinging menacingly behind him. “My daughter took in the man who killed her friend, wrecked the hotel, almost killed her, injured the staff, and is responsible for the extermination of every single human soul they have gotten rid of down here.” Nette could hear an almost growl-like sound coming from behind his voice. One that she had to admit was strangely hot, yet insanely intimidating as well. (Wait- what? No this man could very well end your fucking life right now. Wait, it's Lucifer he wouldn’t hurt you. stop thinking stupid shit and speak woman before he actually does kill you fucking idiot.) “Yes” she found herself barely squeaking out this one word. Cursing herself for agreeing to put herself in this very situation. Lucifer stood up seemingly seething with an unkept rage. Nette quickly grabbed his arm before he could step away from the couch silently thanking she had sat on the side closest to the door. He snapped his head looking directly at her. His eyes burning into her own with what felt like almost a sense of
hurt? Behind them. “You promised” she said quietly. Scared she would say the wrong thing and make it worse. Lucifer sighed quietly to himself before returning to his normal form and taking a seat beside her. “Is she okay?” He asked the overlord sitting next to him. “Yes, Vaggie was with her the last time I checked.” “Why?” Lucifer asked, looking across the room. “Why?
she said when she found him she wanted to leave him there to rot. To let him waste away like he deserved to for everything he had done to the people down here, but she couldn’t do it. She couldn’t allow herself to leave him there. She also said he is one of the only ones who has been able to see the winners who got into heaven, and also see the sinners who ended up here. She thinks he would be useful in redeeming sinners. Though I don’t think he would even be willing to help.” Nette said carefully while looking at Lucifer. She could tell he was still upset but felt a little better knowing it was Charlie who had made the decision.
“Her heart of gold is going to get her hurt one of these times” Nette heard Lucifer whisper, though it didn’t feel like it was something she should have heard so she stayed quiet just looking at him stare at the wall across the room.“I
think it’s a decent idea to ask for his help, but it does put us in a rather hard place. If heaven finds out a winner fell, more so the first man. Things will get extremely ugly and who knows what they will do.” She couldn’t help but also voice her concerns on the matter. Knowing what she did about heaven, she was worried about what laid ahead of them now that this happened. Lucifer turned his body facing her before saying “you weren’t joking about needing a drink after that.” She saw him reach for his glass drinking what was remaining in it before setting it down again. He turned back to face her directly “I’m sorry” Nette stared at him confused as to why he was apologizing to her. “What for Lucifer?” “Breaking the promise.” He whispered to her. She quickly grabbed his hands “it’s okay I know it was not something that was able to be prepared for. And it was definitely not something that could have been predicted.” “Still I broke a promise I made with you” she could tell he was very upset about this. Though Nette found herself unsure as to why he was. She was a bit upset at herself for underestimating the care he had for his daughter. The level of stress this topic would bring him was not something she had calculated in. That was her fault not his. “Lucifer, it's okay. It’s your daughter, I understand your need to protect her. After all, I think I would react the same way had it been one of my boys. So no need to apologize. Okay?” “Okay” he replied hesitantly. She knew he would still be upset about it for a while longer but decided it was for the best to let it go. She turned to grab her glass wanting to move on from this topic entirely. Feeling even worse about her souring the good mood from earlier as the tension sat in the air was still quite thick.
“You can still call me Luci, you know.” Nette froze. “Ah you
sorry I didn’t ask before using a nickname for you.” “It’s okay, I quite like it.” Lucifer said, smiling at her. “Oh
so I can give you another one?” She teased “Like what Nette?” Gosh she really enjoyed hearing her name fall from his lips. (Nette what the fuck now is not the time for that) “Since you like ducks so much how about duckie? Ooh or what about goose? Nah geese are mean you're definitely not mean enough for that. Waddles? No too weird, that's like describing a thing, not a nickname.” Lucifer was smiling watching her ramble while thinking hard about a nickname for him. “Does that mean I can give you one too?” He found himself asking. “Of course your majesty whatever you wish.” Nette giggled. “Though Nette is already a nickname I’d love to hear what you come up with though” “What about
bunny?” Nette turned bright red at that. “Bunny?” She asked “why bunny?” “Your demon form is a rabbit is it not?” Lucifer smirked at her. “How
” Nette tried to ask “How do I know? I know a lot of things bunny. A lot” Nette was bright red at this point. Something about the way he says that word makes her want him to say it more. (Oh my gosh stop it) “well I suppose I don’t mind that, but I’m definitely calling you duckie now.” Nette said feeling oddly competitive about this. “Works for me bunny” she could hear the smirk dripping off his voice. Like pride itself crawling off his vocal cords and into the air as he spoke. “Duckie” she said trying to stand her ground. Knowing she has no chance against this man. None at all. “Yes bunny?” He replied. “Can’t even let me have the last word huh duckie?” “Nope, sin of pride remember bunny” Both of them felt the tension in the air from the previous discussion lighten a bit. As the night went on they addressed each other by only their new animal nicknames, refusing to be the first to back down in this nickname war. Though neither of them truly minded it at all. In fact they both quite enjoyed their new nicknames, though they wouldn’t admit it to the other one.

Nette was walking down to the kitchen to prepare her and Lucifer’s dinner when she ran into Charlie. “Hey I need to talk to you
 alone, quietly
please” Nette turned to her realizing Charlie seemed a little jostled and nervous. “What’s going on?” She couldn’t help but ask. “Just please follow me.” Charlie began pulling at nette’s overcoat leading her down the hallway. Nette followed her a bit concerned due to the amount of emotions that seemed to be running through the princess’s mind. She gave off an aura of someone who was hopelessly terrified of whatever she was walking towards. Nette had become quite protective over Charlie in the time they had been living together at the hotel. She had begun to see her as a daughter of a sort. Always checking on her and listening to any worries that Charlie might have about the sinners and redemption plans. Nette had never seen Charlie like this. She was always positive and bubbly, lighting up every room she walked into with a sense of compassion and pride. The charlie in front of Nette wasn’t the one she was used to seeing. Nette could only assume the worst at this moment.
Charlie pulled Nette into a room and roughly shut the door behind them before locking it. Nette looked around the room. She spotted Vaggie standing by the bed, and upon further inspection saw a male laying in the center of it. One who looked strangely familiar yet Nette found herself being unable to place where she had seen him before. “Charlie, what is going on?” Nette asked carefully not wanting to assume anything, but fearing the worst. “Okay
so I need you to promise me you won’t tell anyone. Not until I can figure out how to tell them. Honestly I don’t even know how this happened, and when I realized what had happened I didn’t know who to tell. You always listen to me anytime something happens-“ “Charlie” “-and I know it’s probably a bad thing that I’m doing this, and hiding it too, but I can’t help it. I know that sinners deserve second chances, and I think it includes this one too. Despite everything that he has done I think he deserves a chance to change and-“ Nette interrupted her nervous rant to try and calm the situation. “CHARLIE! Take a breath. I’m not upset, just a bit confused. Why do you want me to not tell anyone? Tell me what’s happening, who is he?” Charlie looked at Nette then slowly turned towards the male still on the bed before walking towards him. Nette carefully followed her not wanting her to freak out again. “Ok.” Charlie took a deep breath before continuing “This is Adam. The first man Adam. The Angel who Nifty killed in the last extermination. I don’t understand how he’s here, but I’m guessing by the looks of it he is a sinner now.” Nette looked at the man laying on the bed. Caramel skin, brown hair, with a bit of facial stubble. He was tall, a bit on the chubby side -but still muscular- with horns protruding from his head. He had bright red wings, and wore a robe similar to the one Nette had seen the Angel wearing before only it was open. He had on a white shirt and black pants under it. Nette took a deep breath. Quickly trying to process the information she had just been given. This changed everything as they knew it. If a winner could fall, if a human soul that proved themselves worthy to be in heaven could fall to hell that would mean a sinner could rise to heaven. But this also means the chances of heaven helping them speak to a winner would plummet. If they found out that a soul with divine ordainment somehow fell and ended up in hell as a lowly sinner they would do everything in their power to shut down this operation. Who knows what they would do, who they would send to put a stop to it all. This was dangerous, extremely so. Nette realized Charlie was right. They had to be careful who they told and when, telling the wrong person could lead to angry sinners banging on the door of the hotel trying to kill the Angel who once hunted them for sport. Or worse, angry angels knocking on their door for ‘causing an Angel to fall from grace’.
“Is he alive?” Nette couldn’t help but ask the obvious considering the information they knew about nifty killing him. “Yes, but I don’t know how. He was killed by an angelic weapon.” “Okay we need to be careful, I was going to tell you about this later, but it seems a better time to do it now. I spoke with your dad about getting heaven to allow us to speak to a winner. He said he thinks it’s a good idea to at least try. With the idea of the possibility of a sinner having been redeemed before and them not telling us being a factor in the decision. We were worried that they might be a little iffy about allowing sinners to speak with a winner due to the fear of ‘corrupting a soul’, but now I’m sure they won’t let us if they find out the first soul in heaven is now a sinner in hell. But I don’t think this is something that can be hidden from the hotel members. Sooner or later they’ll find out, and I’m sure they are pissed due to this man being the very reason that member of the family you mentioned ended up dead. They will likely try to seek revenge on him for that, and you can’t blame them for it. After all, he took a friend from them.” Nette explained. “Okay so dad was okay with that idea, but
yeah you're right they will be upset and rightfully so. When I found him I was going to leave him there, but something inside me wouldn’t allow it. I’m beyond angry at him. We lost a member of our family in that fight because of him. But- I don’t know
I couldn’t just let him suffer, as much as I wanted to.” Charlie had started to tear up while talking about pentious. He was a good friend to them all.
“Okay, I think we should start with telling your dad.” Nette started before Charlie yelled out “NO!” Nette turned to her “As much as I’m sure you don’t want to Charlie, it’s for the best. Your dad is one of the only people who could protect the whole hotel if something happened. He cares about you a lot and I know he would hear you out if you talked to him about this.” She explained. “I know but I only recently got him back into my life, we started getting closer and I don’t want us to get pulled apart again over this. But I can’t just let him die out there, or worse end up selling his soul. He’s one of the only ones who has spent time- a lot of time- in heaven, he knows what winners need to do to get there. He’s seen the people who’ve made it into heaven and has seen the ones who ended up in hell. He’s valuable not just for being redeemed, but also for information. Just-“ “I understand. If you want I can talk to him about it. I’m sure he won’t want to hear it from me, but it’s probably better to let the idea slip into his mind before throwing him in the deep end about it.” Nette chuckled trying to lighten the mood despite the situation at hand. “Okay, yeah that’s a good idea maybe” Charlie laughed. “I’m supposed to have dinner with him tonight, I’ll bring it up to gauge his opinion on the matter. Test the waters.” Nette pointed at Adam “Keep an eye on him, make sure he doesn’t run out of here. Try to keep him hydrated and well
alive.” Nette said while walking towards the door. She grabbed the door handle when she heard Charlie say “you're eating with my dad?” “Yes, as friends. He often forgets to eat and when I offered to bring him food he asked if I’d join him so I said yes. Is that okay?” Nette was suddenly hesitant on the matter quickly realizing Charlie might not be okay with it due to their current relationship. “Yes, of course it is! I’m just happy he’s opening up a little more. And even more so that he’s doing it with you.” Charlie was smiling. Nette felt herself release the breath she didn’t know she was holding. “Oh, okay
yeah I’ll just- yeah? Nette was suddenly a bit flustered. Quickly trying to leave the room.
Nette walked out of the room quietly closing the door behind her before walking down the stairs towards the kitchen. She was stuck heavily in thought about how exactly she was going to tell the king of hell that the man who almost killed his daughter was now in hell, and his daughter was tending to him. And wanted him to stay in the hotel
to be redeemed. The very hotel he destroyed. The hotel he attacked. Yep that was going to be a blast to have to bring up. (sarcasm) Pushing aside those thoughts to focus on cooking she went into the kitchen and opened the fridge. Luckily she had set aside some preparations for food that she had made a few days ago. So she could easily cook something for the two of them. She began pulling out the ingredients for the meal before noticing Angel walking into the hotel. Immediately Nette could feel that he was upset. The very way he carried himself told her that much. He was wearing big sunglasses that covered his face. She felt her blood boil at the very thought of the asshole moth demon that Angel called a boss putting his hands on her friend. She felt her worries about telling Lucifer about Adam quickly shift into worry about her friend who was obviously injured, but trying to hide it. Angel had walked towards the entry way into the kitchen silently. Not speaking to Husk or Cherri who were both seated at the bar alongside nifty.
“Angel.” Nette said as he went to pass by. “Yes toots?” Angel said, trying to sound like his usual cheery self. “Would you mind coming in here for a sec?” Nette could see his hesitation. Almost like he dreaded the thought of her trying to ask questions about what had happened. But Nette had learned a long time ago when it came to Angel she couldn’t ask him directly. If he wanted to talk about it he would come to her. She never wanted to push his boundaries about anything. Especially when she knew his boundaries were constantly being ignored when he was in the studio with Val. “Sure” he said before walking in and sitting at the kitchen island. “Do you want to talk about it now or later?” “Talk bout what?” Nette looked pointedly at Angel before deciding whether she would push him on the matter. Ultimately she decided she didn’t want to ask him directly as she could tell that would probably end poorly. “Why you’re wearing glasses when you never do. You’re hiding your pretty face Angel.” Angel looked towards her before sighing. Realizing Nette was one of the few people who he couldn’t hide things from. She could always see through him no matter how thick he tried to make his walls. He took off the glasses and placed them down on the island before facing Nette. As soon as he did Nette could see the deep purple bruise that circled his right eye. She immediately felt her blood boil. How her very fears from earlier had materialized right in font of her. She began thinking of 101 ways she could end that fuckers life as he fucking knew it. How she could kill him slowly with intent and make him rue the day he ever put a hand on Angel. She was deep in thought about offing a particular moth demon that she hadn’t realized Angel had started to cry. This was something Nette had only seen a few times. Upon them getting closer Angel got drunk and spilled everything about what was happening to Nette. All the way down to how he ended up in this situation due to falling in love with the moth demon, and thinking if he gave away his soul that he would be with him forever. In love. In a loving relationship, but that all changed almost immediately after signing away his soul with Val laughing in his face about love. Snapping back into reality at the sound of Angel’s sniffle, Nette immediately turned off the burner and removed the pot from the stove before walking around the counter and gently pulling Angel into a hug. Nette knew she could only offer so much comfort to the spider, but she’d rather offer some than ignore the way he felt and pretend he’s okay. She knew he always wore a mask. A mask to cover up his pain, his suffering, his anger, guilt, lies, fatigue, and even worse to hide his love. As he had been shown too many times in the past about what happens when you love someone. They become your weakness and having a weakness means someone can use it against you.
Nette let Angel cry into her shoulder. Listening to him try to speak in between sobs about what Val had done that day. About what Val had made him do that day. The words Angel said made Nette even more upset about the matter, but all she did was continue to hug him tight. Refusing to be the first to let go. After a bit Angel’s sobs turned to quieter sniffles. Cherri had walked into the kitchen seeing Angel upset and joined into the hug. She had seen him at his lows and highs. As he had done the same for her. As Angel calmed down a bit Nette could tell he was tired. Cherri offered to take him to bed after having a bath which he obliged to while attempting to apologize to Nette. Nette looked at him before gently telling him off “don’t you ever apologize to anyone for having feelings. You don’t ever have to apologize to me for feeling any way. Not even if you're sad, happy, angry, disgusted, fearful, anxious, or even surprised. You have every right to your feelings and have every right to express them.” She continued “ You hold onto too much. Try to let someone share the load. Think of your experiences like rocks. And you have a backpack. Each thing you go through adds a rock to your backpack. Some things are easier and add a rock the size of a pebble, others are harder and add a boulder. Either way holding things in causes your bag to fill up. And eventually the straps snap. No matter how strong you think your bag is, and how much you think you can carry, it will snap. And when it does you will blow up on someone. Someone you care about, and you’ll say something that you can’t take back. No matter how many times you try to, you can’t. Believe me I know. So express your emotions, and stop trying to carry everything on your own. Let your friends help you. You always try to help them so give them a chance to return the favor. Okay?” Nette smiled at him. “Ok, thank you” Angel sniffled “of course, go get cleaned up and head to bed. I can tell you're tired.” Cherri grabbed his hand and walked with Angel towards his room.
Once they had left Nette turned back towards the counter. She made her way back to the other side of the island. To in front of the pot before switching back on the stove going back to cooking. She sighed quietly to herself happy she was able to finally tell Angel something she had wanted to for awhile. She was smiling to herself before realizing she still had to talk to Lucifer about Adam. It was like whiplash how fast her mood changed. Before she realized it she had dropped her head down into her hands. She sighed to herself before deciding she would think about that later and just try to focus on cooking for now. She quickly found her mind wandering to how long it had been since she spoke to Lucifer, and she started worrying if he thought she had forgotten about dinner. She quickly finished up before plating everything and tried to start cleaning up the pots before nifty came in and shooed her away from it saying she would do it. Nette quickly thanked her. Deciding she would let her handle it without arguing she quickly picked up the plates and grabbed a bottle of wine from the bar fridge before walking up the stairs. Making her way back towards Lucifer’s office.

It had been a few days since Nette had talked about her regret. The aftermath of which resulted in a long hug and discussion from Charlie that it wasn't her fault -despite not knowing all the details- she stood firmly on that statement as she truly believes it. Nette on the other hand firmly believed the opposite. She could've prevented it, and possibly could've changed her outcome. Though she wasn't certain of that half of it anyway.
Charlie had ended the exercise early after Nette’s confession. Thinking it probably best to try to do one or two instead of everyone at the same due to the heavy load each one is carrying with them. Nette had thanked each of them afterwards before retiring to her room for the night (despite it being early still). A part of her felt embarrassed that she had let the others see her in a very vulnerable state. A state that she thought she had been able to hide away to prevent it being used against her. After all, blackmail was something she was used to dealing with especially when it came to her kids. Many overlords thinking her love and affection for them made her weak, and attempting to take them from her. Leading to a unforseen bloody massacre led by the other 2 boys and her. Though she didn't like violence she definitely could show others a picture perfect reference to the definition of the word. Her kindness was never a weakness. Just more of a strength to her as ‘you don't need to be an asshole to be strong’ she would always say. Teaching her boys that manners truly matter and show a sense of superiority over your opponent.
Though she was embarrassed about that version of herself she knew Charlie and the others wouldn't judge her for it. Nor look at her any differently because they were each carrying something of a similar weight. They still saw her as their terrifying friend who isn't afraid to put a rude customer in their place. Nette had been thankful they had given her a bit of space after as they were sure she might need it, but she found herself feeling rather lonely in that time rather than anything else. Which led to her talking with Angel sitting at the bar one night feeling much better by just being in his company. She found herself often seeking out Angel for comfort as he seemed to be the one who understood her the most. He never judged her for anything she needed to talk to him about, and she offered him the same amount of comfort on that matter. They often spoke about things that the others didn’t know much about them both. Their relationship had evolved to one of being truly comfortable around each other. Even going as far as to reveal their true names to each other. Promising to keep quiet on the matter and to never use them around the others.
A bit later Nette took a few days away from the group to start working on the project of talking to a winner with her boys. Attempting to find out ways to get heaven to listen to them speaking with a winner. After all, the chances of heaven allowing them to sit down and talk to a winner was slim. Nette knew they would be worried about the sinners ‘corrupting’ the winner and having them fall down to hell. Though could a winner even fall? Could they even end up down in hell if during their life they proved to be worthy of heaven? Could they be corrupted? It wasn’t even a fact that sinners could be redeemed- though Nette had her suspicions about that- so if they couldn’t get redeemed could a winner even fall? They knew an Angel could fall, but that was a heaven born creature. Much like some imps and such in hell. Wait- could imps go to heaven? Wow what a way to get side tracked what a weird thought. Nette felt like they possibly wouldn’t allow it especially if they attempted to speak with the seraphim again. Though the one Charlie spoke of called ‘Emily’ might allow it. Seeing as she wasn’t high seraphim though might cause issues if the other one thought she was beginning to undermine her authority. The last thing they wanted is to cause another Angel to fall. Lucifer had been through enough down here. Seeing only the worst of people, only the evil and malignant. Lucifer might be able to help. How would she ask him though? ‘Hey Lucifer, could you reach out to speak to heaven?’ Yeah cuz that went swell the last time. Though heaven seems to still care about what he thinks. Or wants for that matter. But this isn’t them wanting to talk to the court of angels, this is wanting to speak with a winner. A soul that had ascended to heaven after their life on earth. Nette knew she could reach out to someone else for help but doing that would possibly cause a bigger problem than necessary for this. She figured she should at least speak to Lucifer first. Asking him for a few ideas on the matter wouldn’t hurt.
Nette’s relationship with Lucifer had evolved as well. Becoming more comfortable in being able to speak to him about anything to do with the hotel. She found herself not wanting to push their boundaries, often tiptoeing around any personal matters. She was also thankful he hadn't brought up her confession of her deepest regret since she last spoke about it. About him though, Hyperfixation seemed to be an issue of his. Leading to more issues such as the king forgetting to eat. Finding himself up to his chest in a mountain of paperwork that needed to be completed and time passing by without him realizing. She had brought him a few meals to his office as a way to ensure he didn’t starve for days. Seeing as he didn’t have anyone else but Charlie at the hotel. Choosing to leave his staff at his castle after him moving into the hotel. His way of ensuring he didn’t make it seem like his daughter was incapable of running the hotel on her own. Depression was also something Nette had found the king had. Anytime he wasn’t engrossed in a mountain of paperwork he was in his office creating ducks. Rubber ducks. Nette had to admit the ducks were cute, and found herself asking him about one of them that was on his desk when she went in to deliver a meal. Leading to an hour long discussion about ducks. Not that she minded, in fact, she didn’t mind one bit. After all, the king seemed a bit happier after being able to talk to someone about it so much so that she allowed him to do it again. Actually she allowed him to do it about 6 more times, but nobody needed to know that. She enjoyed listening to him talk about things he was proud of.
After thinking it over for a while Nette found herself standing in front of Lucifer’s office door. Behind it was an apple shaped part of the building. The door was an elegant red color adorning his signature symbol and a golden apple door handle. She wanted to knock but found herself feeling nervous about the situation at hand. Asking a fallen Angel to speak to the place that cast him out was not something she wanted to do. It felt a little too personal. Sure she let the man talk her ear off about ducks, but this was different. This is the place that caused him to end up down here. She sighed lightly before raising her hand to the door knocking 3 times before hearing a ‘come in’ echo from the other side. Taking a deep breath she opened the door, seeing Lucifer sitting at his desk reading paperwork with his hat and overcoat on the chair next to him. “Nette what can I do for you?” She hadn’t realized she had been staring at the man till he spoke. “I have something to ask of you but first, when was the last time you ate something?” She looked at him accusingly. “Oh uh- maybe a bit ago
” he trailed off at the end of his sentence. “I’ll bring you something after we talk, you really shouldn’t forget to eat Lucifer it could cause Charlie to worry” Nette found herself giving him the same speech she did each time she reminded him to eat. “You are right, I shouldn't forget something so important. Apologies, I did not realize how much time had passed. What was it you needed to talk to me about?” He stood from his desk walking to sit at the table he had off to the side. Motioning for Nette to join him there as well. She walked over to the table Lucifer had pulled out her chair to allow her to sit down before seating himself across from her.
He could tell she was a bit nervous about whatever this was about, which in turn made him nervous. As Nette wasn’t one who usually was readable in terms of her emotions, at least not this readable. “Thank you, It has to do with what Charlie and I discussed the other day about speaking to a soul in heaven. I was wondering if it was something you had given any thought to?” Nette could feel her nerves about the topic, and was hoping he couldn’t see them as much as she could feel them. The tidal wave of anxiety growing in tune with the second of silence between the two. “Of course, I had forgotten about that. What were you thinking?” Of course he wanted to hear my ideas Nette thought to herself. Still very much a pile of anxiety. “Well heaven wasn’t very keen on the idea of redeeming a sinner. They didn’t seem to take it very seriously either from what Charlie had told me. Though I wonder if Adam had anything to do with that. On the opposite side though many of them had no idea the extermination was even going on, or that any sinners were attempting to rewrite the wrongs they had done in life that landed them down here to begin with.” She paused, Lucifer had been listening to her intently as she spoke. Her slight accent and rambling gave away her nerves about this topic causing a small smile to form on his lips. “I believe that since the last extermination led to many of the exorcists being disposed of and the first man no longer being ‘alive’ -in a sense I guess- that they would be more willing to hear out what we have to say. Though I have suspicions about no sinner ever being redeemed. It makes no sense as to why they would think they needed to begin the extermination anyway without having some kind of reason. An uprising doesn’t seem like a reliable enough reason especially since angels were thought to not be able to be killed. The only thing I can think of is that a sinner had been redeemed before and possibly caused issues in heaven? Though I’m not sure. Sorry getting off topic” she turned her head away from the man in front of her.
Thinking to herself that she was rambling about nothing at this point. “No need to apologize, I’m following.” Lucifer said allowing Nette to continue “I just am not sure if they would risk us talking to a winner. After all I believe they would be worried that the soul might end up corrupted and find themself well
down here.” Nette said quietly. Lucifer nodded before saying “I haven’t heard anything about souls falling from heaven. After all they proved they could end up there in their life on earth, but I do see the issue. If we are saying a sinner can be redeemed that would mean a winner can be corrupted. Which would cause issues with the very foundation of heaven itself.” “Yes, this is why I wanted to speak with you about it before I went to Charlie. After all, the chances of them speaking to hell again after last time might be a bit more, but I have a feeling they’d want to hear us out at least. All things considered. But allowing us to speak to one of their souls might be pushing it. I just don’t want to let her down but I think this might be out of the question.” Both found themselves pondering over the thought for a bit. Before Lucifer spoke “I think it would be worth asking them. If your feeling is right about a sinner having been redeemed then that would mean all the souls that had been exterminated could have been redeemed and sent to heaven. Corrupting a soul could be as easy as it is to redeem one, which is not at all. I think reaching out couldn’t hurt.” “Who would you ask? Sera doesn’t seem one to listen, but the archangels are well
them” Nette said before realizing she spoke as if she knew them personally. “I mean they’re basically the equivalent of the sins down here, and if they’re anything even remotely close I doubt they’d hear out what Charlie has to say.” She quickly corrected herself. “I believe they will listen even if just for a moment.” Lucifer seemed to have a much more determined demeanor about the hotel then how Charlie originally explained it. “Okay I think that’s for the best then. We start with asking them and see where it goes from there.” Nette said before standing. “Thank you for hearing me out about it, and glad we came to a consensus about the matter.” ‘Of course, thank you for coming to me about it first” Lucifer said standing from his chair as well. He could help but find himself smiling at the overlord in front of him. Forgetting his earlier feelings of reprise towards her thinking to himself that he enjoys her company. Nette opened the door to the office before turning back towards the Angel and saying “I’ll be back with food for you. Also, don’t work too late, you need to try to get some sleep tonight. I know you didn’t sleep at all last night Luci, that's not good for you.” He sheepishly nodded before saying “would you join me for the meal?” “Of course Luci I’d be delighted to” Nette smiled before closing the door behind her. Leaving the Angel alone in his office once again to ponder over how she knew he didn’t go to bed last night, and how she had given him the nickname ‘Luci’. Maybe he liked her calling him that.
While walking down to the kitchen Nette found herself enthralled in admiring how Lucifer stood by Charlie’s dream and would do anything to help her with it. Whatever lies in store he would help her through it. Nette found herself wishing she had a father figure like this. One that was proud to call himself her father, one that would help her through things. She couldn’t help but want that. But she knew it was an absurd dream to wish for anything like that from her actual father. After all, he was the one who ended her life as she knew it. The one who stripped everything from her and threw her away like she was nothing. Maybe that’s why she found herself not wanting to overstep into personal matters with the fallen Angel. Perhaps she related to him a bit more than she’d like to admit. But she also couldn’t help wanting to get closer to him.

Just wanted to say HI and give an update đŸ‘»
So the thing is im starting to think the Marionette series might end up being like an actual book. As of now with the parts I'm drafting and fixing up we're at about 14,100 words so far... I'm thinking it might end up having at least 10-12 more parts as i've still got a lot of ideas for things to add. I hope it doesn't get too boring or too long (I know sometimes fics can get too long and make it so some don't want to read it). But I do sincerely enjoy writing the series so I'll most likely see it through to the end. đŸ€
I know also that some of the parts are getting longer and I'm worried they may be too wordy- if that makes sense. So please let me know if they are too much.

Sorry for the rant just wanted to let you guys know where the series is headed in case you were wondering about it. đŸ©” Next part should be up within the next few days :)

This is part 5 of the Marionette Fic. Honestly I truly enjoyed writing this part probably the most so far. It made me laugh. Maybe stupidly so but still. Though there is a bit of a time skip. Some memory flashbacks fill in some of that time. Let me know what you think! Sorry for any writing errors đŸ€đŸ€

Now Nette would be lying if she said the thought of speaking with the radio demon didn’t ignite some kind of fight or flight in her chest. After all this is the guy who graciously wiped a few overlords of this plain of existence. However, Nette couldn’t help but also feel intrigued by the man.
Stepping into the kitchen she saw him standing, cane in hand, leaning against the kitchen island. Looking rather annoyed yet calm, despite the unsettling smile planted on his face like a tattoo. “Was there an issue Alastor?” “Of course not my dear, just wanted to meet you formally as I feel we didn’t get to do proper introductions earlier.” He said with a bite behind his smile. “Of course, well I’m called the marionette, but just Nette is fine for the time being.” “I do believe we’ve passed that point of introductions, I mean about yourself” Nette looked at him puzzled before saying “I’m afraid I don’t understand” Alastor's smile grew wider and his eyes glowed a bit more red “I suppose I’ll skip straight to the point then my dear, well I say you seem a bit out of place down here, almost as if you are in the wrong place.” “Perhaps that’s how you may see it, but I could say the same about you. Things aren’t always what they may seem to be.” “That is true, well I do hope we get along during the time you’ll be staying at the hotel little doe.” He said then disappeared into the shadows. Nette took a deep breath before walking slowly back into the main room ready to start discussing what all would be needed to move into the hotel without issue.
đŸ©”đŸ©” Time Skip đŸ©”đŸ©”
It had now been a few months since Nette and her 3 boys moved into the hotel. They were given room at the end of the hallway to keep them all together. Each of the boys had decorated their rooms- very excited to have their own rooms- and had unboxed just about everything they had brought with them. Unfortunately due to the circumstances at hand some items had to be left behind, though not without careful consideration (and a lot of bribery) at that. Nette had also set up her room, having the biggest room on the floor definitely came with its pros though. Like a bigger shower in her own room allowing for her to not have to use the giant communal shower -unless she wanted to of course- and make it easier for her to store her products in there as well.
Each of the boys had formed good relations with the members of the hotel. Despite continuing to bump heads with a certain red-haired overlord they seemed to fit in quite well, and they also started helping Charlie with ideas in the redeeming department. Though asking them might not always have been the best choice as their ideas were sometimes
well a bit over the top. Not to mention sometimes dangerous as well. Nette had settled in as well. Getting closer to Charlie and Vaggie, and going out with Angel and Cherri on occasion (Though it took quite a bit of time, and maybe a few drunken nights of karaoke she’d rather forget) To make any of it happen. Charlie had asked her for help with recruiting new sinners for the hotel and they had managed to drag in a few intricate ones (horny dumbass idiot ones as Kai would call them) who didn’t seem to really know what the hotel was about and thought it was a hookup bar and dropped their pants when they saw Angel. That went over swell (sarcasm) as Charlie covered her eyes and reminded them what the hotel was and had a few of them quickly pull their pants up and run out. On a separate occasion the hotel had thrown a welcome party for new sinners (surprisingly Vaggie’s idea) but that ended on a rather terrible note with some sinners thinking it was an ‘all you can fuck” kind of party once they saw Angel (seriously what was it with these people). Yeah that didn’t go well at all, they thought Nette was a new one of Val’s toys. Haha they almost died. Literally. She was not happy as one of the dumbasses tore her dress. Cue an embarrassing moment as Lucifer himself gave her his coat to cover the tear as Alastor’s weird shadow tentacle things threw the guy out. Ha what a great night. (sarcasm again -_- Though her boys thought it was hilarious as they hadn’t seen her face that red before). Of course Angel wouldn’t let her live that night down at all. She was so flustered at not only Lucifer jumping in to cover her, but also how easily that asshole tore her dress. With her standing there, looking right at him. The fucking nerve. She definitely slapped the shit out of him before Alastor threw him out though. Good memory- well that part at least. Lucifer also took her dress to a tailor for her - I know what a gentleman- and had them fix it as though it never happened. Anyway it’s been an eventful few months - good and bad, but hey it’s a part of life
well afterlife anyway. She felt that she had grown closer to them and truly felt that she could trust them. Each of their relationships taking on new territory. And she wouldn’t have it any other way.
Nette was snapped out of her day dreaming of memories while scrolling through her phone by Angel shouting and snapping in front of her “damn toots been callin ya for awhile now what’s got ya all mushy headed?” “Nothing much just thinking what’s up?” “Charlie wants us to do another trust exercise but I don’t know bout this one” Angel seemed a little weary about what was asked of them. “Why? What is the exercise about?” The look on his face had Nette a bit worried about what he was going to say. “Dirty secrets apparently, admitting things we did to ‘relieve some held up regret’ as Charlie put it” “ah yeah no I’m gonna sit this one out” “nope if I gotta do it you gotta do it too toots so cmon we don’t have all day get in ere” “fine alright geez”. Nette and Angel walked into the parlor area where a small stage had been set up. Looking around Nette saw only her, Charlie, Vaggie, Angel, Cherri, husk, and Lucifer. Wait
Lucifer. Why was he here? Well it was his daughter's hotel. Think rationally Nette duh obviously. Nette snapped her head back to the stage as she heard Charlie begin talking “thank you all for coming today. I wanted to do this exercise with you guys as I feel it’s a good way for us to get a bit closer with one another. I want us to talk about something we've been holding a lot of guilt over, so that maybe speaking it out loud can help us let go of it even if just a little.” “Alright, who wants to go first?” Vaggie said expectantly. Yeah no not me. I’m not saying shit. Negative uh uh. No ma’am. Nette thought to herself. Dirty secrets my ass this is straight up admitting something we did that we thought was bad, is this a roundabout way of asking us what our sin was that caused us to end up down here? “Nette how about you go first” Cherri said snickering. “Haha Cherri no thanks” she quickly declined. “I think that’s a great idea!” Charlie seemed overjoyed at the idea of the overlord participating. Nette couldn’t help but feel pressured. Something she regrets. Well there was a lot she didn’t want to tell them. A lot they shouldn’t know. Things that would possibly ruin the way they saw her. She didn't know what to think. It had been awhile before she had tried to remember anything that brought her guilt. The memories of such things she pushed down as deep as they could go. Placing large walls and barricades around it to hide it from not only those around her but also herself. But the look on Charlie's face, one of hope and happiness drove her to want to free this guilt even if only for a moment. “FINE” she said before walking toward the stage. “Don’t expect any mushy shit” she said walking up the stairs.”Of course not, just something you regret” Charlie was smiling at the overlord. “Something I regret
” she paused thinking to herself. “I regret
honestly I don’t know" “it’s okay to think about it for a bit” Angel said.
Nette paused thinking to herself, slowly she looked up, unironically making eye contact with Lucifer who held a look on his face she couldn't read, then she quickly looked back down before deciding it’s better to be honest then hold onto it. She felt that she could trust them, and that if anyone was going to be judgemental about this kind of thing she most likely wouldn’t find that person in this group. “maybe
” she paused, taking a deep breath before continuing “thinking so little of a person I cared about, watching them wander aimlessly trying to be what they were told to. Trying to prove themselves to
him. The whole time knowing I had the power to move everything in the right direction. Knowing that I could have helped them if I had only cared- or hell
even tried. If I had only been there when they needed me most I could have done something. But instead I turned away from them. Told them to worry about themselves and not me, that they had no right to even worry about me considering who they were. What they were. Them telling me I was headed in the wrong direction, and me yelling back
telling them I couldn’t do that. Then dying in their arms with their last words being ‘I was right’ definitely sealed the deal. Or I guess sealed my fate is a better way to put it. I think my deepest regret lies in me letting so many
people down. Letting them see me fail at the only thing I was supposed to do. Failing at the one thing I was made for. I don’t think that regret will ever leave me and I’d even go as far as to say I deserve it.” Nette hadn’t realized she closed her eyes completely, or that she had let a few tears fall. In saying it all she hadn’t realized the group moved towards her. Or that Angel and Cherri were hugging her. She tried to take a breath but found it getting caught in her throat. This was something she had held onto for far longer than anyone could imagine. Letting it out felt nice but she knew it wouldn’t make the pain of this regret go away. The heavy feeling that weighed on her heart knowing, remembering, seeing the pain in their faces. The hurt in their voices when all was said and done. Was something she would never forget. Never.

Edited:
Upon closer inspection I have realized part 4 posted on its own prior to me being able to taglist it and tag it. Or make any adjustments to the writing. So it's been posted. I made sure to edit it to add the tags and writing I have rewritten ;-; I'll pay more attention to it for next time. Sorry.

This is part 4 of my ongoing Marionette series. I figured I'd answer this here as someone asked about it. I called her "Nette" as a shortened version of Marionette. Kinda like 'the radio demon' it's just her title. Hope you guys enjoy this part. Sorry for any writing errors đŸ€

The Marionette
Part One, Part Two, Part 3, Part 4 đŸ€
Word count for this part: 1838. Enjoy! đŸ‘»đŸ‘»
Synapsis:
A new overlord has manifested in hell seemingly overnight. One that overpowered many if not all of the current overlords in all the right ways. Will this overlord use her powers for good to help the members of the hotel? Will she fall in love with a man and end up in a loving gentle relationship? Or will she get her heart broken and turn against them all, burning each bridge she meticulously made.
The Marionette is a heart wrenching fic with many turns you won't see coming. Stay tuned for each of the episodes as they are released.
¯\_â Ê˜â â€żâ Ê˜â _/¯¯\_â Ê˜â â€żâ Ê˜â _/¯¯\_â Ê˜â â€żâ Ê˜â _/¯¯\_â Ê˜â â€żâ Ê˜â _/¯¯\_â Ê˜â â€żâ Ê˜â _/¯
The marionette turned swiftly, taking a few steps forwards then turned to face the 3 boys kneeling on the ground. She squatted down to eye level with them before pulling on each of their chains towards her. “I told you all to behave on the trip over here. I suggest we quickly remember exactly what that means. Now sit on the couch and wait until you’re told to do otherwise. Understand?” She growled out at them. Releasing them they all stood moving towards the couch where they sat down quickly so as to not anger their mama further. Nette turned towards the gentlemen and princess before saying “I will fix the damage done to the building, Charlie if you could lead me there that would be great.” “Of course” Charlie said, walking towards the hallway with Nette following behind her. The men in the main area followed the 2 women with their eyes. Confusion setting in as the overlord didn’t allow another second for argument about the task. Just simply stated she was going to do it and walked away. ‘That woman has balls’ Lucifer found himself thinking.
Down the hallway the 2 females walked in silence. Charlie not wanting to upset the overlord anymore than she obviously already was, but also worried she might not want to hear about the hotel anymore. “Apologies for my suddenness back there, I try not to raise my voice because I don’t like violence. But my boys tend to think themselves unstoppable and like to pick fights with anyone if it means they can prove their strength. Sometimes I have to remind them that just because they’re down here does not mean they can’t die again.” Charlie opened the door to a room before walking in. Nette following closely behind her. Upon entering Nette realized this must be the room that took the most damage. “It’s okay, I understand you’re worried about your children, as most parents are” she said to the overlord walking to switch on the lights. Nette quickly set her cane down, and walked towards the blown out section of the wall before untying a cobalt blue string from her wrist. She began using it to essentially ‘stitch’ the wall back into place. Pulling each piece up and putting the wall together like a puzzle. Every piece had a place and Each piece in its place. The strings were light with their movement easily lifting even the largest of pieces of the wall and dusting the smaller pieces back together. Charlie watched in awe as she hadn’t seen anything like this before. The strings were almost lucid. Like they had minds of their own, floating around moving with an almost musical approach. She thought it was beautiful.
Nette snapped her out of her trance when she began talking “ yes I protect them, but I’m worried they will get themselves into trouble in which I won’t be able to. And attempting to fight the king of hell isn’t something I ever want them trying to do. No matter how bad things get, or how things turn out I don’t want to see them walk that path.” Nette said with a strained face. Charlie could tell this overlord cared truly and deeply for the boys she called her own. She protected them with every fiber of her being and would do so no matter the cost. “You truly care for them” “with every fiber of my being” Nette said carefully. “Well enough of that, why don’t you tell me about this ‘hotel’ you guys are running here?” Nette said as her strings were putting together the small last part of the wall. “Of course! So the hotel is called the Hazbin Hotel. We are working towards redeeming sinners so they can get into heaven. So far we have been working on trust, and love, as well as caring for other people. We have made a lot of progress in terms of the sinners that are staying here.” Charlie said proudly, smiling the whole time. Nette could immediately tell she was very passionate about this project and about helping sinners. “Have you managed to get anyone into heaven?” Nette asked curiously. “Well no but we have managed to find out a little more about what gets a person into heaven so we are working on that for now.” “If you are trying to help sinners get into heaven why not ask the angels for help?” The question made Charlie’s skin crawl a bit. “Heaven is not as easy as you may think. We went there and spoke to a seraphim in front of a court to plead our case and it did not turn out well. It caused for the next extermination that took place to be targeting our hotel specifically. Which led to us losing a member of our family here at the hotel. He gave his life trying to protect us, and we are forever grateful for him.”
“Hmm well can I give my opinion on the matter?” Nette carefully said. “Of course” Charlie looked right at her. “What if you're asking the wrong people for help? Angels such as seraphim are heaven born. They’ve never experienced life on earth. Living through a time where things are hard and you have to do things to survive. They’ve never gone through that. So why would you ask them what gets someone into heaven? It’s like asking a Sin down here what gets someone into hell- Granted that might be an easier question for them to answer- they’d have a hard time telling you because they’ve never lived a life on earth. Shouldn’t you ask the souls who ended up in heaven what happened during their lives that made them get into heaven?” Charlie looked at her for a second before standing abruptly. “Why didn’t I ever think of that! Of course, angels born in heaven wouldn’t know what gets someone into heaven. All they’ve ever known is what has been told and taught to them there.” She began walking out the room quickly before coming back in and gesturing for Nette to follow her.
Nette stood and walked behind her back to the living area. Quickly glancing back at the wall to ensure it was fixed completely. Upon looking at it she couldn’t tell the wall was ever damaged to begin with. Walking back into the living room, Nette saw that the boys were still seated on the couch but seemed to be glaring at both the king of hell and the radio demon just the same. Charlie then quickly announced “hey guys come here for a sec” Each member of the hotel walked back into the main area and took a seat waiting to hear what Charlie was so excited about. “We were talking in the other room and -sorry what do we call you?” “Nette is fine” “okay well Nette had a very good idea about the hotel. In terms of figuring out what causes a person to get into heaven. Why not ask the people who made it into heaven what their life was like so comparisons can be made and we can see what each of you has to do in order to get there.” “That actually makes a lot of sense babe, but how exactly are we gonna talk to someone who made it to heaven. We all know how our visit to heaven went last time” Vaggie said. “Yes, that's the one part we have to work out is how exactly we are going to talk to one of the souls.” Charlie said then sat down and began thinking. “In the meantime Nette would you want to stay at the hotel with us? We could really use your help if you are willing to” Charlie said to the blue-hued overlord who was standing behind her sons.
Nette turned to her sons, thinking quietly to herself. Would this really help? What could she even help with at the hotel? Of course she had to go off and open her stupid mouth about something and end up in this weird situation. Living alongside not only the radio demon, but both the princess and king of hell as well. But then again they wouldn’t have to pay such expensive rent, and each of the boys would get their own rooms. Which means no more fighting about who gets to use the shower first. The issue might lie in the fact the boys play games so often and bringing a newer model TV might be out of the question considering the asshole of a tv overlord. But in the end Wouldn’t this just be the best option for them? It provides security as well as safety knowing so many powerful people live under the same roof. Nette sat pondering over the options of the hotel comparing their current life to the one they would possibly have at the hotel. Quietly Charlie hoped they would say yes. Not only are her strings powerful but it was obvious her contracts were as well. This overlord was one that might be able to help against the Vees should that time ever come. “I don’t know
” Nette looked at each of her sons seemingly asking their opinion on the matter. The others couldn’t tell but each of the boys could talk to their mama through the string connected to their wrists. So they all had their hands on the string discussing the pros and cons about moving. Kai then said out loud “I wouldn’t mind it, doesn’t seem too bad of an option” followed by Alex smacking him and saying “well it’s not your decision” Nette turned to face Charlie directly and said “I think we might just take you up on your offer, but I’m sure the boys have many questions about what they are and are not allowed to bring with them.” Charlie smiled warmly and nodded quickly signaling she didn’t mind discussing rules and the like of the hotel. The group began discussing what things the boys have, and cracking jokes about the stupid things they would bring with them.
Nette found herself smiling as her boys seemed to get along rather well with Nifty and Angel. Hopefully things go well from now on and they can learn to get along with both the red-haired overlord and prideful king. For now anyway they would have to figure out a way to get things moved into the hotel. But Nette figured that conversation could wait till a bit later as she couldn’t bring herself to tear her boys away from the group who were laughing and talking about random things. Nette turned and saw Alastor standing just past the doorway into the kitchen. Slowly he made eye contact with her, giving her a look and then walking into the kitchen. Nette knew what that  meant. He wanted to talk to her alone, but what could he possibly want with her? She’d have to go into the kitchen to find out.

Will this overlord use her powers for good to help the members of the hotel? Will she fall in love with a man and end up in a loving gentle relationship? The loud knocking had startled the group a bit, but Charlie immediately shot out of her seat rushing to the door hoping this time it was the guests they were expecting. She took a deep breath as she placed her hand on the door handle then quickly swung the door open. She then realized she was face to face with one of the cat demons from earlier that afternoon. “Hello again darling, I’m Kai we met earlier during our unfortunate run in with some rather rude demons.” Kai said while smiling, holding out his hand. “Of course! I’m glad you guys could make it” Charlie said shaking his hand then stepping aside to allow the 3 cat demons inside. Once they had passed she spotted the red eyed overlord at the back of the group looking at her almost as if she thought this was a threat. Charlie simply gave her as genuine of a smile she could hoping that would sedate her wariness for the time being. She understood why the overlord wouldn’t trust being there after all she is the princess of hell and the hotel housed another overlord.
The marionette walked into the hotel allowing the princess to shut the door behind her. Ultimately sealing her fate that whatever happened here wouldn’t be seen by outsiders. The 3 boys walked towards the main area upon seeing the group of hotel demons sitting on the couches. Figuring this was probably the best area to walk towards and trying to seem as not awkward as they could. As much as they knew they were failing at that. “Welcome to the Hazbin Hotel!” Charlie said excitedly to the group of new demons that had been looking around the living area in almost an awe. “This place looks amazing!” Kai said loudly. He was always the one who was most comfortable with messing around with new people. Though the other 2 tended to stay quiet until introductions were in order. The Marionette stood in place in between Tsu and Alex with Kai wandering around the room looking at decorations. It was a rather silent meeting as no one was talking. They seemed to all be sizing each other up wondering what exactly the others were trying to gain from this meeting.
Until a certain red haired demon appeared out of the shadows. “Welcome, the names Alastor, pleasure to be meeting you, quite a pleasure.” Alastor had broken the silence that they all had been dreading and quite comfortably at that. “Good afternoon, I’m the marionette, and these are my boys. Tsu, Alex, and Kai” she said while gesturing to each of the boys next to her then the one wandering around. “Do forgive that one. He is rather curious, sometimes annoyingly so.” She said pointing at Kai who was at ease while sniffing a curtain. “Oh it’s no worries, new place and all I’m sure they’d love to explore a bit” Cherri said while chuckling lightly. Almost as if she was pointing out their rather obvious cat-like instinct. “Ha Ha” Alex said dryly unimpressed by her dumb allegations. “Be nice” was then harshly spoken out  cutting through the air like a string snapping after being pulled too tight. Alex’s ears flattened to his head as he turned slightly away from the overlord whose eyes were a glowing red. “It's alright no worries” Cherri said lightly. “Well I suppose we should introduce ourselves as well” Charlie said with a skip in her voice. “As you know I’m Charlie, and this is my girlfriend Vaggie” she said pulling a shorter demon with long white hair alongside her. “It’s a pleasure” Nette said, shaking the demon's hand. “This is Angel, Husk, Cherri, and Nifty” she said gesturing to each of the hotel members seated on the couches. “Good to be meeting all of you” Nette said. Finding a new hope that she might avoid having to meet the king of hell himself as she did not see him anywhere.
That hope was short-lived once a shorter male demon with blonde hair and red cheeks, wearing white while adorning a hat decorated with a gold snake and a bright red apple stepped into the room. Carrying himself with a sense of power and pride holding a cane with an apple on the top of it. Nette immediately realized this was the man she had hoped to avoid meeting and in that realization missed him crossing the room to be directly in front of her and Charlie. Coming back to reality she had completely missed what he had said to her. Only offering him a small smile as to not embarrass herself anymore. She then realized the king of hell was taller than her. Yes this short demon was taller than Nette. How she wished she didn’t have to slightly look up at him. After all having to constantly look way up at her boys she didn’t think many people would be shorter than her, but oh how she hoped she’d have something over him. “It’s good to meet you sir” Alex said seemingly taking over the conversation smoothly. He had to have heard what the king said. “Charmed” Lucifer said, not taking his eyes off the overlord in the center. “Likewise” Nette responded calmly hoping it would cover her mistake of missing what he had said to her first.
After introductions were completed Charlie ushered the group to sit down on the couch wanting to speak with them about a proposition she had thought of. Of course, she had mentioned it to Vaggie in their time waiting for the overlord to arrive at the hotel, but despite her girlfriend’s hesitation to the matter she still thought it would be best to see if they would be willing to hear her out. After all, it might be for the best to attempt to get another overlord on their side to help out with the hotel. Not only would it provide more security, but it would also allow for the word to spread about an overlord joining the hotel in hopes to attract more sinners to give the hotel a chance. Charlie then realized she had begun to get a bit nervous as Angel began offering snacks to the boys. Catching Kai’s attention leading him to striking up a conversation with the grumpy cat bartender and the pink spider demon. Marionette on the other hand was keeping a watchful eye on the princess as well as the king himself. Wanting to make sure this wasn’t going to be some kind of ambush. She had always known not to trust demons especially when they were ‘pretending to be nice’ and offering things to them almost eagerly. It made her think there was some kind of catch to this whole arrangement. But alas she would keep that thought to herself and make sure she saw this through. After all, the king of hell could very well wipe each of them from existence if he so pleased, but he hadn’t. Meaning he values what his daughter thinks of him. So at least there was that for now.
“So the reason we wanted to speak with you was because Alastor had said you were rather new here, and that he hadn’t seen you before. We were wondering -of course only if you wanted to we wouldn’t wanna force you into anything- if you would be willing to help out with the hotel?- again only if you want to we’re not really into the whole forcing people to do things here
hahaha” Vaggie had tapped Charlie on the shoulder signaling she had been rambling. “We don’t do deals.” Nette spoke harshly. “Especially with demons whom we just met and have had no prior engagement with.” Alex added onto his mama's statement. “Oh no no no we’re not asking to make any kind of deal” Charlie rambled off quickly. Nette gave her a rather puzzled look. As she could see the string connected from Charlie’s wrist to the radio demon standing just behind the couch. “From my understanding we were asked to visit due to the unfortunate damage that was done to the side of the building unintentionally caused by our incident earlier. We came here only to deal with that. Apologies if we gave the impression that we wanted anything else.” “Of course, I understand we only wanted to pitch our idea to you guys about the hotel to see if you would be willing to help us out. Is all it was” Charlie said. “I understand, no hard feelings then. Please allow me to repair the side of the building as that was our original objective. Then I would be happy to hear you out about what exactly it is you are doing here.” Nette gave a small smile. She wanted to at least get the thing they came here to do out of the way, so if anything went sideways she wouldn’t feel as though she owed the princess anything. “Of course, I’ll show you the damage” The princess responded then began standing up from her place on the couch.  “I can fix it entirely without any issues Charlie” Lucifer said pointedly at his daughter. “Yes I fail to see why we should make our guest fix something on the building that was a rather unfortunate accident.” Alastor chimed in. “Allow us to take care of it, feel free to discuss what you will in the meantime” Lucifer said, standing up from the couch. “I hardly think that’s a fair trade. After all the damage was caused due to a miscalculation on my part during a battle I was involved in. Perhaps it would be best if I was the one who tended to the damage.” Nette said, rising to her feet. All 3 of her boys doing so as well taking a few steps forwards to be just in front of her. “After all I doubt you guys can fix it faster than mama can” Kai said looking at the 2 men trying to stop Nette from doing what they had asked of her to begin with.
All 5 of the men were looking at each other as they were seemingly trying to size up their opponents. Comparing power levels to each other using this as the deciding factor on who would win if they fought. This seems to be the common thought behind each of their eyes. It was only when nette saw the radio demon’s eyes glow a brighter red and one of the boys go to take a step towards him that she snapped out “Sit the fuck down” all 3 of her boys dropping to the floor instantly. The hotel members looked at her with shock as her voice had changed to one that they hadn’t ever heard (Not even earlier when she was fighting the attacking overlord). No, this voice was one of anger. Like a broken voice box in an old doll. Threatening and terrifying yet soothingly smooth all at the same time. They then saw a blue colored collar and chain connected to each of the boys' necks wrapping around them completely. Additionally they noticed strings wrapped around and hanging down from their wrists. Upon seeing the boys one black eye during introductions earlier they knew they must have a contract with the blue themed overlord. But this collar certainly didn’t look like a usual soul contract collar. One that usually was simply adorned with a latch and chain, no this was much more entangled into them. The string seemingly tied their very existence to hers, as if she could control them down to their very core. Down to even the movements of their limbs. This revelation caused both the radio demon and the king of hell to be even more confused- yet similarly intrigued- by the overlord that stood in front of them. How did she have this much power? Where did it come from? And how did she manage to take charge of someone else’s soul? They had so many questions but knew it would be nearly impossible to even attempt to get any of them answered. But they sure were going to try.

Writing another part for the Marionette series and can't help but laugh to myself at the stupidity of it. Just hoping when this part comes out others find it close to as funny as I do. Cuz if not I look dumb laughing at my own non-funny jokes 😂

After the battle had ended all 3 boys slowly approached their “mama” -(as they liked to call her. Now others thought it was weird they called her this as she wasn’t the one who had given birth to them. Not in life or even this afterlife. No, she was the one who had saved them during the last extermination and made deals with them. The agreement being she would protect their lives as if it were her own in exchange for their souls)- As Kai and Alex got closer to her they saw her standing over the body of the attacking overlord, his head thoroughly separated from his body. “Where did the 2 of you run off to in the middle of a battle?” She turned to them questioningly. “There was a group of onlookers from that big building over there standing around, we talked to them for a bit because one of his minions- he gestured to the dead overlord- went towards them” Kai explained solemnly. “They wanted to meet you as well if you were up for it” Alex added onto what his brother had said. “They would like to meet me
for what reason exactly Alex?” The marionette asked her oldest son. “Partially just because but also due to the hole fucker right there blew in the side of their building. They aren’t happy about it by the way” “well I suppose we should meet them after we get cleaned up. It would be best if we do not avoid it as I’m sure you are aware that the building is owned by the princess of hell herself.” She stated seemingly annoyed by the fact she has to clean up the mess the overlord had created. She then untied a string from around her wrist throwing it up, it opened a blue swirling portal leading into their apartment. She walked through the portal first with her boys following behind her. “Told you she’d be mad” Tsu said to the other 2. “Yeah yeah shut up bro” Kai responded. Nette reached through the portal grabbing the boys and pulling them through the portal into their living room. The 4 of them lived rather well despite being relatively new to the area and to being an overlord.
They lived in a spacious 3 bedroom apartment, with 3 bathrooms and quite a bit of space. They tended to hide in plain sight during regular days. Wearing boring clothes and slightly changing their appearances. It was their own way of avoiding the cameras of the stupid tv overlord and the radios of the radio demon. The 4 of them began to get cleaned up with nette going into her room to shower and the 3 boys going into their respective rooms to do so as well.
As Nette got into the shower she began wondering what was going to happen with the princess of hell. After all there was the whole fiasco that took place during the last extermination with the tiny maid girl killing the first man and her father fighting him as well. It seemed that they had a good relationship, so nette was slightly worried about him being there as well. She stared at the shower wall wondering what she was going to do. after all, she's not one who likes to fight necessarily, but is willing to if it meant staying alive - well as alive as you can be down here- and keeping her kids safe. The issue lies in the devil himself. Meeting him would be something that she would have to do if she was going to go to this building to meet the princess. Repairing the damage done to the building would be easy after all the marionette pulls the strings of things around her. She could easily pull the pieces back together and make it as if the building was never damaged. That was the easy part but having to sit down and speak with royalty is the part that has her slightly worried. Her boys would surely not be used to this kind of thing. And it’s no secret that the king of hell looks down on sinners as though they are nothing but scum. Nette sighed as she turned off the water, she’d have to deal with things as they come and take things in stride. Hopefully nothing gets too out of hand.
After the shower Nette began to get dressed wearing one of her signature overlord outfits. Similar to the one she wore in battle- after all she was on an official outing when they were attacked- but slightly different. She wore black shorts and thigh high tights connected to them with a garter. With knee high black boots laced all the way up. Her top was decorated in beautiful shades of blue with wrist ruffles laid beautifully under a black corset vest. Her bow tie black with a sapphire in the middle of it. She hid away her ears as she did not let them out often or really at all (her boys were the only ones to see what her demon form looked like and live to tell the tale though they never would), but during a shower she liked to clean them up. Grabbing her hat she took one last look at her curly black hair and red eyes in the mirror before setting off the the living room to find her boys fully dressed in matching attire neatly groomed and tidy. Kai was struggling with his bow tie as he usually is one who just wears a normal tie, but wanted to wear a better one after hearing “princess of hell’s building”. Nette approached him and helped him tie his tie with ease. Adjusting his shirt to line up perfectly and smoothing out anything that was out of place. The 3 boys looked similar but different in their own ways. Each boy had hair the same shade of azure blue with their ears having black tips, and their tails adorning different patterns of black. Kai’s looked like a tiger tail, Alex's looked like a lion with a black puff of hair at the end, and Tsu’s looked like a jaguar. They had shining white spiky teeth and their left eye being a bright maya blue eye with a black pupil while the right is black with a blue pupil. They all adorned black suits with blue corsets in different shades that matched the shades of blue on Nette’s shirt. The group always matched as it was a part of their “thing” as they called it. None of them minded as it reminded anybody who attempted to mess with them that it wasn’t just one person you’d be fighting but 4. “Alright that looks good” Nette said after helping Kai. “We should probably be headed out, we’ll portal as it’s a lot faster than attempting to walk from all the way over here, plus allows us to be able to avoid those stupid cameras in town” They all agreed and began to head out.
At the hotel the members were preparing to welcome the overlord. After Charlie found out from the cat demon that the overlord was attacked and did not intentionally cause the damage to the building she was more relaxed about letting her visit. Then again she never got definitive word that she would even be coming, oh well a girl could hope that the cat demons would be true to their word and convince her to come to the hotel. Nifty and Angel were in the kitchen baking cookies, while husk was cleaning the bar with razzle and dazzle sitting on one of the bar stools. Cherry sat at the island in the kitchen talking with the 2 bakers about what had been going on for the past couple of weeks. Charlie and Vaggie were setting up the living room for the guest while waiting on Lucifer to finish up his meeting and make his way to the hotel. Alastor was nowhere to be seen for the moment, but the group figured if he was anywhere he’s probably in his radio tower. They’d call him down when the guest arrived. If he didn’t shadowy appear on his own that is.
After about an hour of waiting there was a knock on the door. Each member of the hotel walked into the main room setting down what they had made and sat on the couches to allow a more comfortable look as Charlie had said. Charlie went to the door to greet the guests, but opened the door to see her father standing there. “Charlie!” He exclaimed “sorry it took me so long to get here I had an unfortunate long day” he said looking at her. “It’s okay dad” she said while closing the door. She turned walking towards the couches and sat down. Then started speaking with him about the guest that they had invited to the hotel. Telling him about the damage that had been down to the side of the building and the fight that had taken place outside of the hotel earlier. He tentatively listened to each word before saying “so that is the damage I need to fix right ?” Charlie turned to him “yes though it wasn’t her fault that it had happened, so I’m not too upset about it as it doesn’t seem as though it is something that could’ve been avoided.” Right as she finished her sentence there was another slightly louder knock on the door.
Figured I should give you guys a template of the colors I'm using in this fic, so this picture demonstrates the different shades of blue I'll be using. So you guys can see (kinda) the exact color I mean in the fic.

The Marionette
Part One
Word count for this part: 1279. Enjoy! đŸ‘»đŸ‘»

The hazbin hotel had been open for roughly a year at this point. Many new sinners had gone into the hotel and had left due to not feeling like the hotel actually worked. Or simply not being able to abide by the rules of the hotel such as no drugs, weapons, and the like. This caused many of the current occupants of the hotel to start wondering what was to happen, and how they can possibly get better to get into heaven.
Charlie had been in the main room pacing for roughly 20 minutes while the other members of the hotel watched before anyone spoke to her. “Why ya walkin’ back an forth so much toots?” Angel asked her. “I need to think of a way to get more people to the hotel. Especially after so much remodeling was done to the hotel after the battle, but yet no one has come to the hotel and managed to stay for very long.” At this point Charlie was getting frustrated as she wasn’t even sure that the hotel worked. No signs of a sinner being able to be redeemed had been shown, and she was beginning to lose hope on other sinners actually trying to redeem themselves. “You have to give them time, Charlie. Many of the sinners are still getting used to the fact that there may not be another extermination ever again. They are still adjusting.” Vaggie was trying to help the situation, and it seemed to calm Charlie down for the most part. “I know it just seems like a lot of work still needs to be done, and we know at this point we can’t ask heaven for help. After all, we all saw how well that worked last time.” “Agreed but we can figure out our own way to help some I just know we can”.
Suddenly there was a loud bang that came from outside in front of the hotel followed by some weird laughter. The group rushed to the front to see what was going on. In doing so they witnessed what seemed to be a turf war between 2 overlords. “Great a fight breaking’ out on our doorstep, what’s next they blow a wall in?” Angel laughed. Right after Angel finished his sentence a loud boom came from overhead and they witnessed a piece of the side of the hotel blown off by one of the overlords. “They're gonna destroy the hotel over whatever stupid shit this is about” Vaggie said “well how the fuck are we supposed to stop them?” Cherry yelled back at her. Charlie on the other hand got pissed off that the reckless idiot overlords were damaging her hotel in the process of whatever this was. Then she suddenly saw that one of the overlords was one she didn't recognize. A female overlord wearing what seemed to be a magician-like outfit with a top hat consisting of many different shades of blue. The overlord seems to be yelling something towards the other but the hotel members couldn't make out what was being said. Suddenly Alastor appeared next to Charlie. “My my how interesting it seems we have a new overlord on our hands”. His sudden appearance jostled the members of the group, but they seemed to all be thinking the same thing. “Wait so you don't know who they are?” Vaggie beat the others to the question they were all thinking. “Unfortunately no but she does seem rather entertaining” Alastor replied. “Yeh all in good fun cept they blew a hole in the wall smiles” Angel says. Charlie was seemingly more entranced by this overlord seeing as even Alastor didn’t know who she was.Watching her fighting style they could see she had a scythe. One that had a bunny on the top of it similar to the way Alastor’s and Lucifer’s staff had an apple or microphone. They all watched on with a new sense of heightened curiosity. Seeing the way she moved they could tell she was proficient in close combat.
Out of nowhere a body of a shark demon was thrown directly in front of them causing Angel to let out a small shriek due to the suddenness. They all whipped their heads to the side to see a demon with cat-like features (similar to husks) wearing a lighter shade of blue staring right at them. “Hey! You guys know you could have helped out a bit if you was just gonna stand there and watch” the demon yelled out to them. “How would we even know we were fighting for the right side?” Cherri replied seemingly annoyed at the demons request. “Kai stop talking to them, obviously they wouldn’t help and mama would be pissed if they did I’m sure. You know how she is.” “Yeah yeah I know but still standing around like bumps on a log is kinda annoying you have to admit.” Kai said to the other cat demon. “Whatever, I’m Alex by the way” the one wearing dark navy blue said ignoring his brother and addressing the group in front of the hotel. “Mama gonna get on y’all if y’all don’t get back out here” yelled out a 3rd cat demon wearing a sky blue color. “Shut up Tsu we’re talkin to new friends, plus it’s not like she’d know unless you told her” Kai yelled back. Alex turned back to the group “sorry to have to leave so soon but we gotta go back and help our mama. We’ll see if she wants to come by and talk to you guys after this fight is over” “you mean after she wipes the floor with that asshole” Kai laughed loudly. “It’s all good we’d love to meet her!” Charlie said excitedly secretly hoping they would bring her to the hotel so she could know who is responsible for blowing a hole in the side of her hotel. “Ah also, sorry for the hole in the side of that building seems the dude that attacked us doesn’t know how to aim, or even control his powers” Alex said. “Get your asses back here or I’m getting mama” the brother they’ve learned is called Tsu yelled. “Yeah yeah we’re coming get your panties out of a knot” Kai yelled back then ran back to go fight alongside his brother. “I’ll tell her to come by to help fix the side” Alex said quickly before turning back to run to catch up with his brother. ‘WAIT!” Charlie yelled out. “Who is this person you call mama?” “Ah she’s the overlord you might have seen earlier wearing all blue, a lot of people seem to call her the ‘marionette’ now I believe” Alex stated as though he was reading from a script. “That’s all I’ll tell you for now, she likes to introduce herself to new people, but I do hope we can get along” “Of course! Thank you.” Charlie said with a small smile as Alex ran to catch up with the other 2.
“Well I guess we ought to prepare for a guest later on, but first I’ll call dad to see if he  can fix the wall since it was built with angelic power to begin with.” Charlie said walking back into the hotel phone in hand scrolling through her contacts to call her father. The other members of the hotel followed behind her back inside as the fighting seemed to have slowed down. Many of the remaining demons starting to scatter away from the scene. Alastor remained outside for a few seconds longer than everyone, wondering what intense levels of entertainment this new overlord would bring to his life at the hotel before disappearing into his shadows.
Welp that's all for now! Currently working on part 2. Hoping to have it completed sometime today and posted maybe Saturday? Hope you guys like this part đŸ€
