If I may ask for best friend headcanons for Jaden, Chazz, Jesse and Atticus? How do they react to their bff getting depressed because their crush hurt them? Does this make sense hehe

Jaden:

Jaden doesn’t have a lot of experience with romantic matters, but he’s been perfectly happy to let you talk about that boy you like so much— he’s been encouraging you this entire time to at least be friends with the other guy, you’ll never get anywhere if you don’t start really talking to him. He’s incredibly happy for you on the occasions you’re able to strike up a proper conversation with the guy you like.

One day he’s camped out in class, blatantly not paying attention to the lecture, and a brief movement catches his eye; he glances over and it’s you, waving at him through the glass on the classroom door, looking like you’re about to cry. Jaden was already impulsive, but seeing someone he loves on the verge of tears instantly throws him into action— he makes some pathetic excuse and leaves class, completely ignoring the professor scolding him on the way out the door.

Jaden is a very physically-oriented person, so once you’ve both retreated back to the dorms he immediately wraps you in his arms and holds you close to his chest. You’d been determined not to cry in front of him, but that warmth pushes you over the edge— you tangle your hands in the cloth of his jacket and cry. He’s bursting with curiosity over what could’ve happened between you and your crush, but he knows now isn’t the time to ask; instead, he ditches his classes for today, and tomorrow, and as long as you need him for. He’ll spend time with you until you feel better.

Chazz:

While he pretends like he doesn’t care about anyone, Chazz is aggressively protective of the people he loves— there’s not a lot of those, so he wants to keep them around as long as possible. So when you admit to him that you like some guy you both share a class with, Chazz immediately launches into detective mode, digging up as much info on this guy as he can get his hands on— if you intend to start a relationship with the boy, he’d better be able to take care of you.

Chazz gets a bit awkward when romance is involved, so he tends to stay on the sidelines whenever you’re talking to the other guy— god, you could do so much better than a Ra Yellow student, though. On one of the rare days he spends in the library, a set of barely-whispering voices draw his attention from his work; when he looks up, you’re standing among the shelves with your crush, both of you red-faced and clearly arguing. Before he can think about it Chazz is out of his chair, coming up behind you in order to tower over your crush— the guy shies back, ending the “conversation” before storming out of the building.

When you turn to face Chazz, he’s obviously fumbling— he’s already bad with people’s emotions, but you’ve got tears streaming down your face, and all he wants is to hit that Yellow student. Instead he shrugs his uniform coat off and drapes it over your shoulders; if you just need a moment to rest then he’ll get a study room so you’re not crying in public, but if you’d rather then he’ll walk you back to your dorm. He won’t push immediately, but he’s absolutely not letting something like this go— nobody talks to you like that guy did and gets away with it.

Jesse:

Jesse always has the best interest of the people around him in mind; even before you’ve admitted to him that you like a guy you know casually, he could see the shift in your demeanor, and it makes him excited to know you’ve got a chance to be so happy. He wants to know all the details about the lucky guy— but he promises he won’t get involved unless you want him to.

Admittedly, Jesse does worry about you in general— he knows you can take care of yourself, but you’re important to him. Over time he notices a shift in the way you talk about that guy you’re crushing on; you’ve gone from giddy telling stories about making accidental eye contact, to laughing nervously and dodging a lot of questions. Eventually Jesse tells you that he’s concerned, is everything going okay? And then you start crying, admitting that the guy has been slowly tearing you down and exhausting you emotionally.

Jesse is a fantastic listener, and he’s good at taking care of his important people. You can spill everything that’s happened, how it’s made you feel, and he’ll listen until you’ve tired yourself out. He’s honest about telling you that maybe you should let this boy go, consider taking time for yourself and finding someone else later; you’re young, and even if it doesn’t seem like it now, things can always change for the better. Until then, he’ll stay with you.

Atticus:

Atticus has basically been your wingman this entire time. He knows you like that other Obelisk Blue student, and if he has anything to say about it, the two of you will be happily dating by the time you graduate. Atticus already loves getting involved with people’s relationships— he’s invested in getting you the happy ending he thinks you deserve. When he manages to get you paired off with that other guy for a school dance, he’s thrilled.

Ever the life of the party, of course Atticus is there too, although he does his best to leave you alone with your date among the pulsing crowd and reverberating music. When he feels a hand pressed to his back, he assumes it’s another of his many admirers and has his best grin on his face when he turns; it turns out, though, that it was you begging for his attention. Even in the dark and with neon lights casting their colors across the room in wild patterns, he can tell your face is flushed and your eyes are filling with tears— he watches you mouth “he dumped me,” over the loud music and, completely disregarding the swarm of girls vying for his compliments, Atticus wraps his arm around your waist and whisks you out of the room.

Whatever happens next depends on what you seem to need. If you want to calm down and return to the dance— with Atticus instead of your crush, of course— then Atticus will stay with you in the hallway until you’re done crying, helping you readjust your outfit, fixing your hair and any makeup you may be wearing. If you’d rather leave, Atticus brings you back to his dorm— tonight you’re having a sleepover, with video games and comedy movies, and he absolutely wants to paint your nails. If you end up wanting to talk about what happened, he’ll listen as long as you need him too; if you never want to mention it again, he’ll never ask.

🌙Judai and/or Johan in the aftermath of the dark world

Oh those poor boys... since you gave me both as options, I'm just gonna go ahead and make this a spiritshipping ask

In the nights following the dark world, but before Johan goes back to North Academy, they sleep in the same bed. If Johan ever wakes up before Judai and tries to get out of bed, he’ll find his arm being held onto too tightly for him to get up without waking his boyfriend, so he usually just lays back down to cuddle him a while longer.

Once Johan goes back to his own school, the nights are... significantly harder for Judai to get through alone. He never wants to fall asleep because without Johan, the one thing that’d been keeping his nightmares at bay, he knows exactly what he’s going to see once he goes to sleep, and he hates the thought of being in that place again. He’ll usually stay up as late as he can just texting Johan, and it’s not the same as having him there beside him, but he always feels at least a little sense of comfort when he gets to fall asleep looking at an “I love you”.

Anywhoooo, I just wanted to draw an interaction between these two, because, like I mentioned in a past post, I re-watched GX and I just love these two boys lol. I kinda wish we got more interactions between them, just hanging out. I love the idea of them giving each other dueling tips, and talking duel monsters for hours on end, and getting super excited about it. Just... them being kids, because bruh, life and magical bs hit them hard, and I just want these two to be happy, god damn it T_T

I was going to make Johan be a sassy boy in this and have him say something, but the best I could come up with was, "Don't hurt yourself overthinkin' it, Jay" LOL. While I know Johan would only say this teasingly, I thought maybe that was still a little mean. Also, I can only picture maybe dub Johan saying that? (hence why I put "Jay")
