Newommers // The existentialism of Blanka
Blanka is not a binary group. They do not really like to be categorized in only one genre, and likes to work with as many influences as possible. Like many people of their age, they do not conceive to listen to a single genre of music anymore, and even less to be catered to only one when it comes about their own. Listening to their first EP, Yasuda, we thought that the group was going to bloom in kind of post-punk appearance.
Tumblr media
But, just when people asked them for more material, they preferred to go elsewhere in the optics to open even more their horizons to new tones: "Before going on tour to Europe last year, I was starting to get extremely anxious about our first EP Yasuda pigeonholing us into the post-punk genre. So this track was built with an underlying notion of wanting to protest against our former songs and move in a new direction." (Fader Magazine)
Fall in Love, their new single, can naturally seem radical to every person who appreciated Yasuda. And we can understand why : the duet now favors synthesizers instead of saturated guitars or unstructured beats for an even darker music.

A very good taste of what’s to come, waiting for the release of a new album which risks to play with our expectations in terms of genre, but which promises a very interesting journey.

Pascale Project : Just feel good for a moment
Previously known as Mathematique, Pascale Mercier used to deliver kind of a sophisticated instrumental synth-pop. Without knowing it back then, she was making it sort of a laboratory for what was going to come.
youtube
She had been thinking about changing name for a long time ago, but never found the courage to do it thinking it would be too complicated. Whoever, in 2015, after she had some trouble finalising new tracks, she decided it was time for her to make this change. Marking the shift with the name Pascale Project, her compositions benefit greatly from this rediscovery. It muted to involves the 80’ housy-instrumentations she was doing before with an even more present voice. This voice, less covered by the reverbs and the synthesizers that became her trade-mark allows her to now express herself even more about her feelings and her everyday life.
“I'm just writing about what I feel, I sing mostly about love and life and not thinking too much, I guess the song "Just Feel Good for a Moment" is all about those themes.” told she to the german  webzine No Fear of Pop in 2015.
After the release of her first EP under this new alias “Just Feel Good for a Moment”, she then went on an extensive world tour, and allowed herself to experiment even more in the optic of finding her new way.
youtube
In 2017, she is back on the roads with new material. “7 a.m.”, her latest single is even more dancy than before and is the perfect introduction to the coming spring.
