I want to live my life so that I’ll be able to read an in-depth biography about myself in later years and not puke.

Coriolanus Snow in PART III: THE PEACEKEEPER
"I used to think that The Hunger Games were punishments for the districts. Then I thought they served as a warning to us here in the Capitol, about the threat the districts posed. Now I know the whole world is an arena. And we need The Hunger Games every year. To remind us all who we truly are. THE VICTOR."

Reading the Cainsville novels by Kelley Armstrong and feeling absolutely unhinged about our golden boy lawyer man. Have some feral sketches.
Why has no one in the world read this series though?? It's so good, I need to talk about it

It always irked me as to why Coriolanus hated Sejanus so much. His disdain for Sejanus is so palpable and so much more visceral in comparison to the other students, which he is also apathetic towards. And sure, it could be attributed to the fact that Sejanus is from the districts (it's what everyone else dislikes him for and no one would question Coriolanus if that was his reason as well). But, in actuality, Coriolanus's hatred for Sejanus is because he's jealous.
The reason why Strabo Plinth manages to make so much money is because Coriolanus's own father is killed and the Snow's source of wealth is decimated. The Plinth's took what was supposed to be his, and now they're in the Capitol and rubbing it in his face. Sejanus has a loving mother and a father who's alive and providing for his family, on the other hand, Coriolanus has lost so much and is struggling to keep what he does have. And to make it worse, Sejanus doesn't even appreciate it. Coriolanus has to sit there, for however long, and just listen to Sejanus as he complains and moans about how he hates his privileged life, how he hates being well-fed and safe. But, he can't admit it to himself because that would mean he's jealous of Sejanus who's from the district, and he can't have that, so he disguises his hatred as apathy, it's the only thing that he can do to keep his dignity and pride which is pretty much the only thing he has left.
Then he arrives at the Capitol and the Plinth's take him in and give him what they couldn't give their own son, and well to him: it's only right that he gets back what was taken from him, what was owed to him.
