rosalie: i don't know, i'm getting real creepy 70 year old man vibes from you right now 👀
rosalie: what did you do to make someone write your number in a public restroom, that's gotta be something pretty heinous
jamie: very funny.

rosalie: can you live up to the bathroom wall's claims?
jamie: Of course I can.
jamie: One question for you.
jamie: Do you want to take a chance and find out?

Jamie smiled despite himself as he took in his friend’s features across the short fence and took a seat across from her as he settled at the restaurant with his water and sandwich. Autumn had been his mother’s favorite season, and it was bittersweet for him. Holidays in general were, though. She had always been decorating at the change of the seasons. “Brutal is an understatement. More like perpetual torture,” he responded, a small smirk dancing on his lips as he took a sip of his water. “Summer and winter last forever. Fall and spring are so fleeting,” he remarked.
status: open.
location: outdoor restaurant.

─── ⭒ “do you know how badly i want to see little pumpkins decorating everywhere?” it was the first thing out of her mouth and an attempt to get the familiar face to stop in their tracks. she was sitting outside a restaurant, the only thing separating her from the other person was a short fence. turning in her seat to face them, a pout immediately takes over her face while resting her sunglasses above her head. “this summer heat is brutal on me. don’t you agree summer is brutal? the fashion sense is fantastic, but everything else is torture.”

“Maybe some of them,” he murmured around the cigarette that dangled from his lips, looking around the park and taking in the scenery. He removed the cigarette and put it out, flicking it into the trash can that they passed. “Or whiskey,” he offered with a small smirk. “I don’t know. Want to find out?” There was a cafe in walking distance...he wouldn’t object to getting some food and having their own makeshift picnic.
Taryn wandered through Ferry Park, looking over at her friend. “Do you think that all of these people having picnics in the park are trying to recreate some romantic fantasy?” A painting, a book, a movie. “Picnics are no fun without wine.”

rosalie: i'm really sorry to be the one to tell you this, but your phone number is written in a bathroom stall under "call for a good time"
rosalie: if you did that yourself, carry on, but just know that it's a really weird advertising tactic

Morgan: Did you took my handcuffs the other night?
Morgan: Can't seem to find them.
Morgan: I don't think I left them at my former apartment...
Jamie: Did you mean to send this to me? 🤪 You've piqued my interest. I haven't touched your handcuffs, though. Do you want me to track down the person responsible?

JAMIE WAS DEEP IN HIS THOUGHTS, though he couldn’t for the life of him remember what he was thinking so deeply about, and that was why he looked a little frazzled upon stopping to notice the other speaking to him, cigarette dangling from his lips. He removed it and gave a small smile, pulling at the corner of his lip, as he neared them. “Of course. I’d be happy to,” he mumbled with his strong London accent. He had a habit of that: mumbling. “Where do you need to go?”
LUX WAS EXPLORING one side of the street she hasn’t explored properly. She heard there is a nice restaurant, jazz clubs near. She was following the address from GPS, but her phone turned off, her battery died, and she cursed under her breath. At the nearest person, she tries to catch their attention. ❛ Excuse me, I’m lost, can you help me?! ❜

I saw [JAMIE KNIGHT] at a coffee shop in [BROOKLYN] today. I forgot how much [HE] looks like [ROBERT PATTINSON]. They are a [THIRTY-TWO] year old [LIBRARIAN] who’s been in NYC for [14 YEARS] now. Every time we run into each other, they are always [CALM AND INTELLIGENT] but I’ve heard people say they can also be [STUBBORN AND CLOSED OFF]. [CHASING CARS BY SNOW PATROL] reminds me of them every time it comes on the radio. — [c, she/her, 26, cst] @villagestart

ABOUT
TW: death tw, fire tw, alcohol tw
Jamie has always been at odds with his father, his father often ignoring Jamie as a kid in favor of work. His mother was wonderful, and they had a close relationship.
When Jamie was five, there was a fire at the neighbor’s house that quickly spread to his own house. It was all over the news and he’s had one person approach him that remembers it. His father had been away on a business trip when the fire happened over night. His mother died saving Jamie.
After that followed an even more strained relationship between Jamie and his father. Every time he looked at Jamie, he saw memories of his wife, and he tried as hard as he could to distract himself with work or alcohol.
After the fire, there was a court hearing in which Jamie received settlement money from the neighbors who started the fire. He wouldn’t talk for weeks after the fire and needed to go to therapy due to grief.
Jamie hasn’t touched the money.
When he was eighteen, he and his father moved from London, UK to New York City for a job. Jamie didn’t have much going for him and he has family in New York, so he went with his father, still living with him. He moved out pretty much immediately when going to New York and got a job.
As an adult, Jamie is pretty lost. He often compensates with humor. He can be very closed off, but he will occasionally open up to those that he loves or that are intimately close to him.
Although he can be promiscuous and generally reckless, he has a soft heart and loves intensely. His outward appearance is of someone who is relatively calm, most of the time, but it’s just because he’s in his head a lot.
He is a job hopper, and is never satisfied with staying at one place. He is currently a librarian and likes the quiet.
