What do you want people to remember most about you and your career?
Throughout all my life, I've always been someone's daughter, Mother, wife, partner, widow... but now... I'm just me. Everything I have done in my life has been for my family, my husband, my kids and now my grandchildren. I want my stories to be my legacy to them; to make them proud, to make my parents proud of me!
When I've looked back, I've realised, I have been a pioneer in so many ways... I was one of the few female taxi drivers in my 20s, one of the first hypnotherapists in Teesside with my Mother in the 80s, a founder of the Stockton Music and Arts Collective in the 90s as well as the organiser of the first BBC Music Live in Durham in 2000 and an Entertainment agent and now an Author! (Although I'm not the first in my family to be a published author as my Mother and sister have had writings published in their own names long before it was even a thought in my mind haha!) I'd hope people would remember me for not being a quitter! For seeing life as a challenge to meet running... when life gives you lemons you make lemonade right?
My latest challenge is marketing of my first book Joan: Put on a Happy Face and what a challenge it is... available for a limited time at a discount price this BLACK FRIDAY DEAL at Blackwells Online Bookstore. with FREE UK Delivery
I have always had a computer in my life, ever since the day they became available with their five and a quarter inch floppy disks. My whole life is contained in my computer; my thoughts, ideas, work, names and addresses of friends, family and colleagues, I don’t know how I’d live without my computer yet now... computers are my biggest fear!
The world wide web, expanding beyond belief, now holds so much information about everyone; people with same names, creating a multitude of errors in databases where cross-referencing are occurring... in 'the cloud'; to address those anomalies I find myself now being identified by a unique number, my true identity lost, I am no long a person, I have become just a number.
This could be an idea for a new book as it is a genuine fear of mine, but I'll hold off on that until I've completed my trilogy that began with my first book Joan - Put on a Happy Face.

If your phone could ring right now with your dream opportunity, what would that be?
Even when writing the first book I got the feeling that it could be turned into a good period drama, much like Victoria, and when ideas started for another couple of books then a third, I could see it even more! I have yet to write the other books, but they're here in my head. I'm researching them at the moment but I know where they're going to lead and how they're going to end, I just need to put it down on paper, they've all been started lol! So my dream phone call would be from a screenplay writer or a TV company who has heard about my stories and wants to get them written, with me supervising the writings of course, it has to maintain the essence of the whole story lol!
