Yes, it's an ableist slur.

Terms like "asshat," "head-up-ass," "up their own ass," and "high on their own farts" exist. There's also words like crap, dogshit, half-assed, assclown, and chucklefuck. And on the less vulgar side, there are terms like ridiculous, nonsense, train wreck, pointless, insipid, self-absorbed, pretentious, annoying, boring, contemptible, vile, and disgusting.

Substituting words like restarted, poptarted, brain damaged, smoothbrain, etc. is still ableist, because either 1. you obviously still mean the r-word, or 2. you're still using disability as an insult.

listening to the mulan soundtrack lately. I like this movie. the songs are fun and silly and then when they actually get to the battlefield they all stop. the country getting invaded is mostly a plot device for this funky musical about finding yourself, until the quirky band of protagonists actually get there and find out everyone who knew what they were doing is already dead. there's no quibbling about feelings or self actualization in the final fight because the villians are just here to kill people and do not actually care. there's minimal romance because they are busy being in combat. the horses look really cool
