ninjago dragons rising spoilers

if i see a single person being mad that kai learned the rising dragon technique first it's ON SIGHT.

i feel like most people are okay with it an actually celebrate it, but i know on insta and twt there's going to be the annoying fans on the lloyd end of things that whine that lloyd didn't learn it first.

i am number one lloyd kin, defender, lover, stan, protector, ect, but even i am happy that kai learned rising dragon first. firstly, kai is a character who was misused in the 11 minute era. it's nice to have him in the spotlight again. secondly, i am fully convince that if anyone thinks lloyd should have learned it first, that they do not understand him.

lloyd said himself that his panic attacks shut him down and he lives in dread of experiencing another vision / panic attack. he says that he has no calm inside himself. part of learning rising dragon is finding that calm. he literally doesn't have it.

at all.

so like... why would he even logically learn it first. it makes no sense.

LET CHARACTERS HAVE THEIR STORYLINES AND MOMENTS. kai needed to be first for so many reasons, and lloyd needed to learn it last, for other reasons. just. grrr.

this isn't directed at anyone, at all, just me venting at the idea that some of the annoying lloyd fans are like "grrr he's the green ninja why is kai cooler than him now". just like how there's annoying kai fans that still think kai should've been the green ninja.

Others have probably already said it but. I have to wonder if Wyldfyre was originally supposed to be Kai's actual, literal, biological child in earlier drafts of Dragons Rising. But then executives got cold feet because WHOA nelly, it's one thing to imply the evergreen youthful protagonists that kids resonate with as older, but to have one canonically be an actual parent, having raised an actual kid and settled down??? That'd give them an existential crisis! And that left Wyldfyre with no parents, so when the writers adjusted the story, they had them be deliberately absent and kind of a mystery to maybe answer if they want to.

Because, again; The fire motif. Kai's whole relationship with her. Wyldfyre having red hair, just like Skylor. There's the fact that near the end of Crystalized (the finale to mainline Ninjago), we have a scene where Skylor is looking at some kids and clearly thinking of settling down and raising a family, and Kai seems to support the idea of doing that with her. Lemme tell y'all, I was under the impression Wyldfyre was Kai's literal child based on glimpses of Dragons Rising, so when I did my catch-up marathon I assumed that scene was put there to set up this development.

Of course, if Wyldfyre WAS meant to be Kai and Skylor's kid, was the idea of Heat as an element always going to be there, to explain why two people can shoot flames? Or would we have actually seen Kai pass on his element? Would Skylor have passed hers on, and Wyldfyre would've used this to also achieve the power of fire from her father, who she'd be in constant contact with? Or maybe the Fire/Heat distinction would've been left in, Kai was surprised to still have his elemental powers, and Skylor maybe figured out the difference when she copied Wyldfyre's powers and experimented with them. Are they considering another sibling for Wyldfyre, maybe two more, to pass on Fire and Amber to?

More possession stuff ^^

Sorry to all Lloyd fans but I couldn’t resist doing Kai and Morro, I love their parallels too much.

My interpretation of how a "Morro possesses Kai au" would be:

At first it's the usual possession but it's very violent since Kai has a bad temper. Morro agressively possesses him and breaks into Kai’s memories against his will.

But Kai is stubborn and angry and doesn't let Morro hurt Lloyd. So after the fight Morro digs deeper into Kai’s memories to see what he can use against him.

Morro finds himself relating to Kai and tries to manipulate him to betray the ninja and work with him (going as far as to showing Kai his memories)

Kai still refuses to hurt the ninja and shifts the narrative "why go after Lloyd when you can go after Wu?".

Kai basically learnt what Wu did to Morro and him and gets angry and wants to get revenge on him.

Morro is conflicted into what Wu did and his love for his only father figure. But Kai is also conflicted because on one side he relates to Morro but on the other Morro tried to use his body to hurt Lloyd. In the end I think Kai would choose his anger towards Wu and try to convince Morro even if he has to do so by manipulating him because as much as he's empathetic, he knows he can’t save Morro, and can’t get easily over the fact he wanted to harm Lloyd.

It would be interesting that at some point Morro had to fight Kai because he wanted to attack Wu and the ninja of course misinterpret it and still think of Morro as a villain.

To sum up they'd try to manipulate each other and end up exhausted from fighting the possession.

I love exploring the duality of broken villains.

Nya but i drew her as a Chinese warrior because I love her water powers, but I really wanted her to be different from ninja and fight in her own way.

Also since she doesn't really have a golden weapon, or weapon specifically designed for her, i gave her this spear made out of lapis lazuli (but like,,,✨ magical ✨ lapis lazuli, that makes it easier for her to control water, or like, just buffs her strength idk)
