I wanted something cute.

Arnold trying to be a good ‘totally not boyfriend’ to Helga. (I’d like to think their relationship at this point is complicated because its always complicated isn’t it?)

Helga sleeps on the bus often, mostly because the Beeper store isn’t comfortable to live in. Both in terms of lack of bed and also arguing parents at night.

Arnold makes sure she gets off her stop every time.

So before anime my first love had always been cartoons, I only recently watched Hey Arnold! recently (I blame betaruga's art I've been sucked in ever since) and its been a hyperfixation for months now. I wanted to make a comic based on one of my fave fics of Shortaki.

I wanted to show my appreciation via this project, which has been fun and challenging so far (tell ya what my environment and angling of panels have never looked as good lmao). And I have fallen in love with pencil textures.

I never told @reinamycloud about doing this but I hope they like it anyway. I'm planning to eventually make the other chapters as well but it will take time cuz I'm going back to school.

I drew this and I loved it.

Helga just having a Cinderella moment.

Its based on an old idea I had that is loosely based on ‘taming of the shrew’.

Arnold takes on a challenge to make Helga nice/sweet (for a revenge thing the boys are planning) and ends up helping her break out of her shell and genuinely falls for her.

So he’s trying to stop whatever the boys are doing cause he didnt really mean it he was just angry but now he really likes her and he changed his mind.
