He sobbed, he wasn't expecting it, it seemed like every second Yuriko and Ruki were becoming more distant, the little boy dried his tears and tried to stop crying, but it was very difficult.

The child approaches and places his hands on Yuriko's belly, putting his ear to her belly in the hope of hearing something.

— Hey! Get out of there quickly, you can't be that lazy... — he sighed. — Although when you leave, you'll be a lot of work and you'll cry a lot...

Yuriko pushed the book she had been leafing through back to the shelf and turned around when she heard Kauze's question. Rubbing the small of her back, she tilted her head.

"Umh... oh my, Kauze-kun..."

How to explain such a matter? She shifted slightly, trying to find a more comfortable position. "I don't think she is shy... or more like, we can't know that yet. But babies must grow enough inside the mother before they can come out."

Yuriko placed her hand on Kauze's head when he put his ear on her belly and ruffled his hair. She couldn't hide a giggle as the boy's words reached her ears.

"She is supposed to be here with us in May. So, we need to wait a little longer." Yuriko kept stroking Kauze's hair, wondering how different life would be in two months.

"But you're right... She might cry and there is a lot of work to do. Still, we can all try to make her happy if we play with her. Once she's grown a bit, you can even tell her about Batman and how cool he is."

Kauze held Ruki's hand and jumped up and down with happiness.

— Oh, so that means I can have dinner here?

"No. You can not."

Carla appeared, he was not at all happy with Kauze's approach to vampires, especially the impure ones.

"Kauze, it's been 10 minutes, let's go."

—But Carla...! Ruki told me to have dinner with him... Oh! Oh! He also said that "everyone is waiting for you" so it's more than one person! Isn't it Ruki? It is not?!

Kauze looked excitedly at Ruki, he wasn't used to being the center of attention, so knowing that there were people who wanted him around made him very happy.

"I'm sure Kisama won't mind."

As for the older founder, he didn't want Kauze to have so much contact with people other than him and Shin. Carla pulled the child close to him, he didn't care if Kauze wanted to stay or not, and he would care much less about Ruki's opinion on this. He would just take this child away.

— Hmmm.... I just don't make a fuss like the human children in the market, because I'm a founder and because you saved me... — he grumbled and pouted. — Ruki, you won't be sad if I leave, will you? I swear I will come back!

—Hi Ruki! I know I'm super late for your birthday! But I swear I have a good explanation!

The little boy patted his own clothes and knocked out some dust, just like he did in his hair.

— You don't know what happened to me! I was playing normally, but then a bad boy pushed me and trapped me in an abandoned Boy Scout warehouse... I only managed to get out of there after DAYS! Good thing I'm a founder and I don't need food or anything like that to survive... But it was very scary...! Good thing... Carla is paranoid and found me there! He's outside waiting, I'm glad he let me stop by to tell you... HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I promise I'll make a card for you as soon as I can!

"Kauze...?" Ruki's gaze traveled up and down the little boy. "What on earth happened?" Worried about what had happened to Kauze, the vampire listened attentively to the explanation.

"That boy did what?" Ruki's voice was calm, but in his mind he was already looking for this filthy brat and imagining an appropriate punishment.

"I am sorry that happened to you. Good grief, I am just glad you got out of there safely. For once, Tsukinami Carla's paranoia was really useful."

Slowly, Ruki knelt down in front of Kauze and patted his head. "Do not worry about the card. That you are well is the only gift I want from you. Even if you are a founder, you must always be careful. Understood?"

Ruki's emotionless expression disappeared and a sincere smile spread across his lips. "Now go home and wash yourself. Just come over for dinner soon. Everyone is looking forward to your visit."

The vampire ruffled the boy's hair. "Thanks for remembering my birthday, Kauze. I really appreciate it."

Curiosities

🍦Kauze is left-handed.

🍦Before discovering that vampires don't have a very "pleasant" smell for founders, Kauze believed that vampires' peculiar smell was because of the shampoo or perfume they used.

🍦 He already sent some wolves to devour the bullies at his school.

🍦He always checks under his bed before going to sleep, to make sure there are no monsters under it.

🍦He really likes collecting legos.

🍦He watches Winx Club in secret, and his favorite Winx is Stella.

🍦He has a habit of making morbid jokes when he is angry with someone.

🍦One time, Laito forgot to pick him up from school, Kauze then said that he would accept a ride from some stranger next time, in an attempt to make Laito feel guilty, to this day he doesn't know if that worked.

🍦He already got serious burns when he used his fire powers to melt Kou's hair products, which he didn't take into account that these products were flammable which resulted in an explosion.

🍦Kauze has already asked Santa Claus to bring a scarf like Carla's, so they can wear matching ones.

He jumped up and down excitedly, but as soon as he saw that Kanato discovered he didn't get a gift, the child's body became colder than it already is.

He ran away after giving this nonsense excuse, but he knew it wouldn't be safe to be in the same environment as Kanato, especially now that he found out that he won't get anything for the little founder's birthday.

— I used all the glitter I had for this drawing! But I can get more from school if I need to.

"This card kinda is givin' me cataracts but I appreciate the effort! And ya' got a great list of why ya' like me, kid! So I won't complain too much!"

Kauze's room in the Sakamaki mansion.

Out of all the rooms he has, this is the least "fun" as Reiji only gives Kauze toys and decorations when he really "deserves it", plus it's one of the mansion's guest rooms, so the old stuff is there.

But we can also see some things that Kauze likes a lot, like his trophies and the few toys that are there.

The tents were built by Laito and Ayato, as a competition, Kauze hopes they will have a competition to build the funniest toy as well.

Of course, Laito got some points for giving Kauze a fishbowl, something Reiji didn't approve of, but ended up leaving him there.

There are some plushies that Kanato ended up miraculously donating to the little founder, as well as that wooden swing.

Yuriko & Friends Part 1

I love how Yuriko has met such amazing people through the years she has been on Tumblr. Unfortunately, some of them have moved forward but even they remain in my heart. And the new people get their own spots there too. Ele não disse nada, apenas colocou uma mão em meu ombro, como se tivesse me abraçando também, mas só com um braço.

— Não quero você andando com ele. — Shu disse em um tom sério para mim. — Ele certamente irá causar problemas.

— Ha Ha, muito engraçado. — Ren revirou os olhos. — Como que se você fosse um bom exemplo para ele.

Eu apenas fiquei olhando para eles, eu acho que o Ren realmente não gosta do Shu, ou talvez de nenhum Sakamaki.

— Vamos Kauze. Estou cansado.

Shu então segurou no meu braço e começou me puxar para longe, com a mão livre eu acenei para Ren, me despedindo dele.

— Tchau Ren!

Shu então parou no meio do caminho, olhando para mim com um olhar confuso, ele suspirou pesadamente e se abaixou na minha altura.

— Eu sei o quê você fez. Dessa vez não irei fazer nada, mas não quero que você se meta em confusão, principalmente por causa dos outros. — Shu então se levantou. — Imagine que problemático séria se alguém visse você, eu teria que me responsabilizar.

Ele bocejou, eu tombei a cabeça confuso e segui ele, até que finalmente chegamos em uma sala, lá tinha alguns instrumentos musicais, mas eu não tinha nenhuma habilidade com eles.

Ele então colocou a mão na minha boca, impedindo de deixar eu terminar de falar. Com a mão livre, ele levou o dedo indicador dele para seus lábios.

— Fique quieto.

Eu balancei a cabeça concordando e ele então tirou a mão da minha boca, eu sorri sem jeito, eu iria pedir desculpas, mas como ele pediu silêncio, eu preferi não falar nada, apenas fechei os olhos e suspirei, tentando pegar no sono, o que era um pouco difícil de se fazer quando você está no chão, eu abracei o braço do Shu, como que se fosse um enorme travesseiro fiquei assim por um tempinho, até finalmente dormir.
