I commissioned this a year ago from @arrhythmiacomic and I decided that it was more appropriate to post today - her 18th birthday - because it is when this kind of party would be happening between Anjelika and her friends!
can't believe it's been a whole year my god what is the passage of time
Thank you once again for doing this art for me! It was great to see it then and it's still amazing now!

Reblogging this a year later because it's her canonical 18th birthday and she has good friends now!!
Angel’s Anniversary!
So!!!
November is a pretty big month for Angel.
It’s (so far) the only project I’ve sucessfully nanowrimo’d (back in 2019 lmao) even if i didn’t finish it.
It’s my longest tenured original story dating back to 2016 - somewhere around this time of year in fact! - when I came up with the initial concept.
And it’s also my main girl Anjelika’s canonical birthday today, November 5th!
I thought I’d celebrate both the anniversary of Angel as a project, and Anjelika’s birthday together. In fact this birthday is a special one, it’s her 17th. The year she meets her Maidens of Honour!
So I’m going to spend today reblogging Angel content on this oh so special day. Feel free to send asks if you’re curious about anything at all!

Not quite fully retail but there is a retail department in the place I work at that i think fits the bill.
We serve a lot of older/more well off clientele and whilst a good majority are nice, you do get some... strange customers.
The one that comes to mind is the gentleman that purchased two boxes of chocolates on the 23rd December, and I was creating conversation with him, and he asked why we were closing the blinds (we close at 5pm, it was like 2 minutes to five when he came in). I explained that it's closing time but we will still serve everyone still in the building etc. He then told me that it's appalling that we close so early (?!) on a weekday, what about all the normal people who wOrK until 5pm on weekdays?! The manager was stood just nearby and I said "well I don't control our opening hours, but I'll get you my manager if you want to discuss it further?"
I pass him on and Immediately walk away but like 10 seconds later I hear him raise his voice "this iS unnacceptable!!! I shall not be returning" and my manager being like "Please leave the shop now sir." It was the most bizzare complaint I've ever heard, like. You're mad we close... at 5pm? We aren't a convenience store or a supermarket. We are an artisan business. Plus it was so out of left field for me because he bought two boxes of chocolates from me, presumably for a gift, and he left minutes later absolutely Pissed.
In a more general sense, there's...
(negatives)
people who forget that please and thank you are words that exist
people who always add stuff on to their orders after you've fetched stuff (ie. you could have brought everything back at once instead of one at a time)
people who get upset that we're "always out of" certain stuff
people who try to use expired vouchers
(positives)
people who ask you what you recommend (for gifts etc) and are geniunely really nice and listen to what you suggest
regulars who come in almost every day for a takeaway drink and a chat
people who pre-emptively ask you how you are doing
people who are conscious that you are busy (re-stocking shelves, tidying the till area) and are patient with you when they need something from you (ie. "sorry I know you're busy but can you please tell me where x is?")
I need to speak to the manager
Hellooooooooooo writeblr 😘 I have a character who works as the manager of a small shop. If you’ve worked in a similar position I’d looooove to hear stories. Give me your boring day-to-day, your weird wtf, and anything in between. Basically, anything I can use so someone reading this character would think “oh yeah, that tracks.”

@cirianne me honestly
Honestly be pretentious as fuck about the stuff you create. Do a press release for your fanfic updates. Do a Q&A about your webcomic. Make fake merch designs for your OCs. Commission "official" book covers. Very few of us will ever get to a stage where something we've created Makes It Big but even if you have an audience of 5 people plus a shoelace fucking indulge yourself and pretend!! It's the only way to live!!

Worldbuilding Question
Inspired by a recent trip and a discussion with @cirianne, I posit a question to you writeblr:
If the setting of your WIP had a museum, what would be in it?
Would it detail the local history, showing the changing landscapes? Would it showcase an individual, an event, such as the events your characters live through? Are there artefacts? Testimonials? Interactive events? Any particular highlights that leaves its visitors stunned?
To clarify, this could mean a museum about the events of your WIP many years after it happens, or it can simply be a museum that has details about the setting.

So here's the thing. I'm regularly on hiatus because real life sucks.
However, when I am on hiatus, I save things to my drafts all the time. This includes other people's writing (I even have a whole tag for it) and when I get around to it, I make a point of leaving comments on everything I reblog.
So whilst I'm not consistent, I do get around to it, and I always leave comments when I do.
sorry for the next controversional writeblr poll. semi-follow up to this.
