The Black Best Friend is a trope where a black character revolves primarily around the white lead. All their qualities, good and bad, exist to serve the white lead’s story. So, you’d see their full creativity and skills when it’s time to move said lead’s story forward but they’re inapplicable for their own lives. Because they do not exist for themselves, they rarely interact with the themes and emotional center of the story. They exist to serve.

What got you into miraculous ladybug?

#I saw a writer I followed writing a fic about the show in season 1 #And I checked it

Due to the serious underpayment the voice actors of Miraculous Ladybug are getting (despite the high popularity of the show), Joe Ochman, the English VA of Mayor Bourgeois has left the show and will be replaced in Season 5. On top of that, the reason SAMG will be no longer animating Miraculous episodes also has to due with being underfunded. SAMG is known in the fandom for animated some of the best episodes in terms of animation like Crocoduel and Strike Back. Mind you, if they can afford to make The Awakening Movie with a budget over 100 million dollars, then they can afford to give their employees a fair pay. Please check out and sign this petition made by Sydney Satalino to protest against this. Also make sure to share this on as many social media accounts as you can with the hashtag #ZagPayUp. Let's be the heroes that Miraculous Ladybug inspired us to become.

It sucks that the most fun I had this season watching an episode was when it leaked unannounced...when the fans of the show who love it aren't haven't fun that's when you know it's an issue.

I keep thinking back to how in Love Eater, Kagami dumped all her love troubles on Ladybug. We saw it from Marinette’s perspective, where we were meant to be sad, but it’s even more interesting from Kagami’s. She has all these conflicts, and nobody to talk to, so she dumps it all on Ladybug, someone she can trust, but also someone who is (as far as she thinks) far enough away from it all, because she doesn’t really have any other friends that aren’t involved in that love triangle.

On the one hand, that’s kind of sad. On the other hand, I want more of that.
