““It’s true that Cristiano is very physical. But so is Messi. Nowadays your physique is very important you can’t just play in first division with just relying on talent. He has an ass this big (makes gestures with his hands), very hard, very sturdy legs and he’s just really strong! Just look at the last goal vs. Getafe how he starts off his run and is able to create an amazing goal. They’re are both unstoppable players but the moment they become less physical (strong) they will struggle more. That’s just the way it works””

- Gerard Pique objectifying Leo Messi’s body … I’ve seen it all

There is an insteresting article about Messi by Albert Llimós. It also explains Messi’s Weibo message after the game against Atlético (where he said he will try to get better and he would leave Barça if he feels like he can’t make fans happy because Barça deserves the best). In this article, it explains how Messi doesn’t want to be the new Dinho because even tho on the pitch, Messi seems fearless, he has one big fear; letting fans down and disappoint them. He has a ‘panic’; one day Camp Nou will turn against him and whistle and he felt it against Atlético Madrid. A nervous Messi really thought about leaving Barça because, again, Barça deserves the best. There is also important notes from Albiceleste staff. But the most interesting part is, 10 days before his death, Bartomeu talked to Tito on phone and told him that he is worried about Leo and he may leave. Before the Athletic game in the Camp Nou (where Messi scored one goal), Leo visited Tito, they talked more than 2 hours and almost until 11pm. As Bernard Soler explained, Leo admitted that he thought about leaving, he explained how he feels about fans and how he is so afraid to fail them. Tito said he is wrong and tried to change his mind. After that, Tito called Bartomeu and told him about his meeting with Leo. After that Bartomeu visited Leo at Diagonal and explained him their sports project (without giving names except Luis Enrique). Before the day of Tito’s death, Bartomeu visited him again. But even after his meeting with Tito, Leo felt bad especially after he realized he is no longer untouchable for fans (booed by fans against Atléti, a fan stopped him and told him to buy an energy drink with the money they pay to him etc). But he is back today and try to fulfill his promise to Tito.
Author also explains how Leo has had to grow up really early and how he is frustrated by all these things said and written about him. And this is a decisive year for Leo, he will try to get back to stability and gain the respect of culés again and make them happy again. At the end of this season, he will decide his future.

The thing we forget about Barcelona’s Lionel Messi is that for all he’s accomplished — he’s a two-time winner of the Ballon d’Or, soccer’s top individual prize — he’s still a kid, just 23. He’s a little guy and looks as if he could never hurt you. But give him the ball and you’re in trouble.
It’s not normal, what he does. I know the expectation that builds up around top players, but it doesn’t bother Messi. He’s a competitor: he doesn’t want to lose, not even in training. He reminds me of Diego Maradona, the way he dribbles past people, the way you can kick him and he’ll just bounce up and carry on running with the ball, then score a goal — it’s ridiculous. I played with him for three years, and it was just a joy.
