I have continued cleaning up code for Day 1 to 9, mostly because of some throwbacks from later days which, ofc, needs to be called from earlier days, and somehow I have not been able to include yet.
The only Day 10 content I have is still the base script as of right now, as I haven't coded it yet.
Anyway, that's the update.

Haven't had much time this past week to work on the project, except to clean up a couple of knots and write in some conditionals for Days 9 and 10, which I had begun the base script for prior my break.
So, yeah. I am continuing it. I hope to finish a base script up to Day 12 this week.

So, I did have some progress, mostly because of the reference script by Meri from the LITG Remastered Discord.
Base script is updated to partial Day 10 now.
Admittedly, I could have done a lot more, but Eric "Concerned Ape" Barone decided to tell people to "get ready", but not too much since he's still going for coffee before dropping the Version 1.6 update. Which, I am a mobile player, it won't be updated any time soon, but did it have me on a chokehold anyway? Yes.
Also, given that it's the Holy Week where I'm from, I will be busy with personal commitments this week. The next update post will be on April 9, 2024.
Hope to have more for you all soon!

I apologize for the lack of progress to report today. Various things have distracted me this past week, although I did finish prepping Day 10 Part 1 for extraction, but that's the extent of it. I haven't been able to clean up any code or anything else on the backend.
That said, Meri of the LITG Remastered Discord did great work transcribing Days 8 to 13 of the Season 3 script. I can reference their work when I create the base script this week.
Again, sorry about this. This week should be better for working on the project.

Tiny more progress

Another short one, as I wasn't able to use my laptop much the previous week. For now, I have:
a mostly finished Day 8 base script.
prepped up to Day 9 for extraction.
filled up some more routes for Day 2 Part 2.
added in some variables needed for future episodes, particularly regarding MC's diet.

A short quick progress report for everyone:
Finished up to Day 7 for my base script, including minor coding and sectioning.
Added AJ's route for all of Day 3.
Currently adding the rest of the routes for Day 2. Bill's route so far has perplexed me, but nothing unmanageable.
Still extracting Day 8 content.
That's all. Keep on being awesome.

I've reached Day 3 Part 3, the part of the base script which made me question everything since I had updated the game. Good news is, I finished its base script and added AJ's route. So, my mind at ease, I can continue cleaning up the rest of the base script that I currently have and extract the Day 8 content that I have on hand.
I'll continue preparation and extraction of the base script until I reach the final day for Season 3.
Afterwards, whenever I'm on the go, I will start preparation for the base script for Season 2, then Season 1. This is to help the LITG Remastered Project as well. (They do need help in extracting the script, and whatever blanks I have left after going through recorded playthroughs I have on hand, I use them as reference. Click here to check their Discord Server out!)
So, there won't be any game updates for this month, unfortunately. But I am making progress on the back-end.

Day 1 re-code is done. Now what?

I finished cleaning up the code for Day 1 and I have initially tested it using Inky. Haven't tried it with Atrament yet... perhaps when I have a bit more added, like Day 2 content which I am working on filling up.
I am prepping Day 8 whenever I am on the go. Hopefully, I will be able to have a more substantial progress report and a minor update of the game soon for you all.

Yeah, so, a very short update today.
I have finished filling in missing scenes and choices in Season 3 Day 1 Parts 1 and 2. Thank you LITG Remastered Discord!
Most of the necessary functions had been added in, and variable names have been changed/updated.
I haven't tested any of the code yet. I won't until I finish Day 1 Part 3, which should be done this week.

An LITG Archive Update
No content added after the game update last Friday. I'm working on cleaning up the base script and the code itself, as I've realized a few missing things. Two parts of the update today: a bug, and functions.
The more important announcement is that once the next update drops, you'll have to restart the game due to some code additions.
More under the cut.
First, the bug.
I found a bug while playing a Camilo route on my phone. The next scenes won't show up. The code seems to check out when I played on the editor, so I'm not entirely sure if it's my phone or something really is wrong. If you encountered it while playing, please do let me know!
Second, the functions.
Yeah, so to assign variables and avoid writing the same conditionals over and over again, I use functions. And there are a few, regarding the pronouns and the relationship ones that are missing a few things as I read through the base script that I have on hand.
I have to overhaul it. I already started, but I'm still not done with it. I'm trying to future-proof it as much as possible so nothing else will break when Day 2 drops.
So... yeah.

Game has been updated. Click here to play!
This update is almost two days late, and I do apologize for that. However, I have finished putting out all the fires I've accidentally started, and here's the list of changes I've made thus far:
Changed demo content. I've removed the Day 6 Part 1 content and replaced it with all available romantic and platonic routes for Day 1, with the exception of Elladine branching. Current references do not include her unique dialogues, if any.
Minor edits to the original script. ​Any minor errors regarding formatting or grammar that I did find, I have corrected. I'm not sure if I did get them all, but it's mostly a random narration in a speech bubble, stray apostrophes, and thought indicators.
Extra content option. Per the January 9 poll, I added an optional toggle for extra content which would give extra context or trivia. This is mostly for players who have not been able to play the original app, given that this archive does not retain any of the art.
Just like previous, any missing or incomplete variables, choices, or scenes will be marked (INCOMPLETE) in-game.
No scheduled update for Day 2 yet, as I am still in the process of filling up the currently missing routes.

Incomplete update, unfortunately

So, some personal circumstances kept me busy this week, and I had understimated the time it would take me to sort out of the branches and missing content. I do apologize for the announcement that I am about to make.
I'll upload a full Season 3 Day 1 update with all available routes to replace the Season 3 Day 6 Part 1 demo content tomorrow (January 31). This wasn't the plan, and I am sorry it's not as complete as I hoped it would be.
Further explanation and current progress under the cut.
Progress is mostly the same with last week, as I've been concentrating on filling in choices and routes.
Base Script: 6/13 days. Mostly, none of the recorded routes I have for Harry, Bill, Camilo, and AJ has Elladine as their Best Friend. I have content for Elladine starting only on Day 6.
I have also started readying Day 7 for extraction when I'm on the move. Currently on Part 2, and I should be able to get the raw script.
Branching: 1/13 days. I'm done with Day 1, and it's just a matter of coding it now before the month ends.
Coding: 0.3/days. One challenge is the small things that change whether you romance AJ or not, which is good for gameplay, but not so much for trying to reconstruct it.
More on the back-end, as I filled in AJ's route for Day 2, I found a pattern I could potentially use for how I'll name knots and stitches, which would be helpful in the long run, especially for those who like code snooping.
Anyway, yeah.

Regarding the script, any minor errors regarding formatting or grammar that I did find, I have corrected. I'm not sure if I did get them all, but it's mostly a random narration in a speech bubble...

Branching: 0.3/13 days, although I've actually made progress here. In my previous status update, I had put in 1.3, but I, embarrassingly, forgot to account for AJ's route and bits of Bill's route, and so... yeah. I do apologize for that. I made a chart for myself so I won't make the same mistake again.
Coding: 0.6, mostly to account for some variables that I had to straighten out, so I haven't been able to progress to Day 1 Part 3 yet.

Hello! Just found your blog and wanted to clarify something, what is it exactly? Is it based on some game on some kind of app? It got me curious. Is it currently being rewritten by fans If I understood correctly? It's been stated something about season 1 to 3, if so, where I can find previous seasons? Hi! Thanks for checking the blog out. To clarify, it is based on the original Love Island The Game (renamed to Love Villa) by Fusebox. LITG Archive is basically what it says on the tin: it's a preservation of the original Seasons 1 to 3 text content which was removed last December 11, 2023 by the company. There is another project that aims to rewrite Seasons 1 to 3 called LITG Remastered, which is separate from mine.
Here are the announcements they made in the app, about the removal of content due to the discontinuation of a third-party tool they use. Their first announcement says they may "remaster them and bring them back", but then subsequently changed it to "will look into ways to possibly bring back" which, until now, there is no news about.

The content on the original app had been replaced by Seasons 4 to 7 since then. To note, Seasons 4 to 7 is also the content of their current, newer app, which they had named Love Island The Game.

Story-wise, it is based on the actual reality show that is also called Love Island. You are playing as a female protagonist who enters the said reality show, where you stay in a villa with other hot people and couple up with them or risk staying single and getting booted from the show. You'll go through challenges and try to become part of the winning couple at the very end. There's a chance to win £50,000 where you'll make a choice: split the money with your partner and choose love, or choose money and take all of it.
At the moment, only Season 3 Day 6 Part 1 is available on the demo, which I will be updating near end of this month with Days 1 to 5 content with at least 2 routes. I do not have any Season 1 or 2 content up at the moment.
