A recent one for the NYT. This was fun, but the only time when I've worked to a super short Op-Ed deadline that I wasn't sure if I'd actually get it done.  I honestly think it's one of my favourite things OF ALL TIME when the the type of a New York Times article is designed around an illustration, so that was a real thrill. Cheers to Matt as ever for working that all out!

This was for that jerkwad Nob Chomperton. It was in an anthology he put together for Jazz Dad called 'Museums'. I did this at the beginning of the year about being content living in a slightly smaller city and then a couple of months later I moved to London. What a hot mess of contradictions!

This one's really old. Oops. I got contacted by my old pal Holly who works at Esterson Associates to do this for a trade mag that they design called Petrofacts. When I went to pick up a copy of the magazine from their office recently I was struck by how much of a cut above other trade magazines I'd seen this one was. Another back of the net for the good guys at Esterson!

Oh boy oh boy I'm so bad at updating my blog. Who cares though, right?

Here's a portrait I did of the band Eagulls for So Young magazine. One interesting fact is that I did this on Easter Sunday while watching Boyz N The Hood alone in my old studio. Another interesting fact is that people seem to really like this one, which bothers me a bit because there's no concept behind it and it's purely a picture of a few guys' faces and some pretty colours, but maybe that's just fine. Also, who cares.

I was asked to illustrate a story for the latest issue of Anorak magazine. This was really fun. I hand set all of the type as well, which was ludicrously time consuming but pretty satisfying.
