Synopsis

Opinion
This is a very good series, I binge watched it in a few days. I loved the queen! How strong, resourceful, and independent she was. I loved all the characters, especially the queen and prince Seongnam. I also loved how the king was very supportive of her. The series had a lot of different topics, from motherhood to sexuality. It's a drama series. There are no gore or sex scenes. I recommend this series to anyone who likes history dramas.

Synopsis
Young Ganga is tricked by her boyfriend, who promised her a film career and asked her to leavd the countryside to Mumbai. Once she gets there she is thrown to the underground world.

This is a drama and crime Indian movie. It has prostitution and abuse. So if it triggers something you are warned. It does have a strong scene.
I give it the story a 10/10

The movie begins in a brothel and with a girl that had been sold to them, her name was Madhu. She refused to be a prostitute so Madame Rashmidai tortured her. Seen that it wasn't working she callled Gangubai for help and to persuade Madhu to become a prostitute.
There you finally see Gangubai, dressed in white and beautiful. She tells this girl her story. How she was tricked by her boyfriend with a promise of a film career and how she was sold for Rs 1000. She is forced by madame Sheela to prostitute herself and she changes her name to Gangu. While she was there she befriend Kamli. She then later is asked by Sheela to take a customer and that he has already paid so Gangu has to please him, what she didn't know is that this man would beat her up for his satisfaction. After she gets put of the hospital she goes to Rahim Lala for help and so he does. When this man goes again Sheela asks Gangu to once again please this man, this time the man gets beaten by Rahim Lala.
After this Sheela dies and Gangu becomes the madame of her brothel and she changes her name to Gangubai. After Gangubai is done with her story she asks Madhu if she still wanted to stay and then gives her a choice of two candies, one is a normal candy and the other has poison. Seeing than Madhu prefers to die Gangubai takes and send her home.
After this you see how much everyone loves Gangubai, her longing of her family, how hard her life is but she always strove for better and she became a powerful women at the end.
This film is inspired by real woman named Gangubai Kathiawadi who was a "mafia queen".
It was a very beautiful piece of art. I loved every second of it. You could see and hear (through the songs) how Gangubai felt. It is very inspiring and even with all the hardship she went through she helped others. The dancing scene was very beautiful also.
For characters I give it 10/10
This is my first Indian movie and the first time watching these actors, hopefully I can see them in other movies. Alia had a powerful voice and attitude that was perfect for a mafia queen. Afsan was so lovely and I would've hope that their love would flourish. Mr.Fezi, I found that I really appreciated how he gave Gangubai's voice more potency for others to hear her and understand her. Kamli! Another beautiful character!
I give the soundtrack a 10/10
Amazing! Even when the characters are not talking, the choices of song will tell you the story or the emotion the character is going through. Simply amazing.

For characters I give it a 10/10.
I found it great to see two different sides of the main character Nan do and Holo. I also loved So Yeon!! All the characters gave something special to the story and I really appreciated it. I also loved Holo! Who wouldn't love Holo?!
For the music I give it 9/10
It had sentimental songs and uplifting songs and feel-good.
To the story I give it a 10/10
I appreciate that the story line was something new and creative. They gave So Yeon prosopagnosia (face blidness) something I just learned while watching this series. The relationship between Holo and So Yeon was really cute and sweet. When she meets with Nan Do its something different from Holo; the story makes you want to root for Nan Do too. He had a tough past and you could see his brokenness throughout the series.They also have a love triangule. I am happy that they gave the characters a happy ending. Specially to Chan-sung since his father treated him so bad.
It was overall a heartwarming series!
Fun facts!
The idea for “My Holo Love” came about during a conversation between director Lee and writer Ryu after watching the movie “Her”, which revolves around an AI’s ability to learn and adapt. Months later, Ryu created a unique story about a hologram called Holo.
Holo is derived from hologram. Plus, “holo” also sounds similar to “alone” in Korean. In this setting, one can only see Holo wearing special glasses. Think of him like a special friend who only watches and listens to the user.
In his first ever dual role, Yoon plays AI-powered Holo and his genius developer Nan-do – they are identical in appearance but have different personalities. To differentiate the two, the 34-year-old actor would modulated his speech speed and style, body movement patterns, and even his physical reactions to express a variation of nuances. While Holo is “very kind, caring, and warmhearted”, Nan-do is “a sharp and cold person who isolates himself” from everyone else.

Story:
Dan Hwal was cursed by Bulgasal since birth.Bulgasal is a monster in the Goryeo period that's immortal and can't be killed or die because it has no soul. When Dan Hwal was an adult, he hunted for monsters to extinction. The last monster standing was Bulgasal. Hwal wanted to break his curse so he decided to hunt it. Unfortunately Hwal took his family to the mountains where they died at the hands of Bulgasal. Bulgasal stabbed Hwal and stole his soul and in this way Hwal became a monster and the former Bulgasal was able to die and re-incarnate. Hwal vowed to find her in her next life and kill her to take revenge. 600 years later he finally found her and is ready to end the curse and take his revenge.

I give the story a 10/10. I found it fascinating how their life kept intertwining in every re-incarnation, even tho it was an ill-fate. I binged watch it in a few days! So good! It's a slow paced story.
It's very gory!
I give the characters a 8/10 just because I can't deal with characters that do exactly what others said not to do and put everyone in trouble. Poor Hwal! Always coming to the rescue.
The soundtrack I give it a 10/10. The song Leave by 4MEN, it's so good! Beyond time by Janet Suhh it's also very good. From the instrumental one: I really loved I will never die, it just give that suspense, mystery and somehow empowering. The soundtrack makes you feel the yearning and sadness from the characters.
I recommend this drama to you if: you like thriller and fantasy. It's 16 episode and they run for a hour and fifteen minutes( I still feel like it's not enough... 😭) It has enemies to lover trope. The actors have good chemistry which makes it soooo good! A lot of tension in between the two main characters but no kissing scene 😭😭😭. Sometimes the story gets slow but when it unravels its soooo good!

Bulgasal literally means impossible to kill, or “bu ke sha” in Mandarin. It comes from the legend of Bulgasari, which illustrates the story of a frightening monster during the late Goryeo period (918-1392) that keeps growing as it eats all the metal. This series does not incorporate the folklore.

When the female Bulgasal takes the soul of Hwal the word gonok was formed on her hand. In this series since it has reincarnation, Bulgasal can break souls ( you see it happen in the series) but, when the soul breaks 8 times the person or monster is gone for good.
