You’ve probably gotten this before, but can I recommend Eleanor Rigby by the Beatles for The Lonely?
I actually haven't gotten this one! It's definitely a good fit.
Eleanor Rigby
Died in the church and was buried along with her name
Nobody came
The churchyard/graveyard imagery makes me think of Naomi Herne's statement specifically.

Hi again! I wanted to share some of my song recs for Tim. Firstly, RIP Tim, hope you’re enjoying your kayaking trip...
Secondly, the actual songs. There’s 3 from my little list that really stuck out to me. First, “I Lived” from OneRepublic. I think it really fits Tim overall as a character. Next is “9 to 5” by Dolly Parton, just cause, especially the lyric “It’s all taking and no giving”. Lastly, “If I Die Young” by The Band Perry.
Also, after I finish my character playlists, would you like to see them?
Sorry for the long wait answering this one, I’ve been a bit swamped with schoolwork!
Oof, a rough one for a man who went from like, managing his trauma ok and having a work/life/quest for revenge balance to completely self destructing within a season and a half.
I owned every second that this world could give
I saw so many places
The things that I did
Yeah, with every broken bone
I swear I lived
Alternatively, a great song for Tim who is Fine and Off Kayaking With His Friends.
Sdkja;ssdlfkaj;dsfkjas;dskfljas yeah Nine to Five is a fantastic song for Timothy “what are they going to do, fire me” Stoker and the worst office job of all time.
9 to 5, for service and devotion
You would think that I would deserve a fair promotion
Want to move ahead but the boss won't seem to let me
I swear sometimes that man is out to get me
Annnd oh boy, If I Die Young is always a great one for characters who do in fact die young.
So put on your best, boys, and I'll wear my pearls
What I never did is done
A penny for my thoughts, oh no, I'll sell 'em for a dollar
They're worth so much more after I'm a goner
And maybe then you'll hear the words I've been singin'
Funny when you're dead, how people start listenin'
Cool I wasn’t like. Using my heart for anything.

okay last one i promise! coin-operated boy by the dresden dolls has stranger energy, the beauty of running circles by michael malarkey has web vibes (but like... not malicious web vibes?) and prison food by ben folds is super lonely
Coin Operated Boy honestly does have stranger energy both in the lyrics and in the tune, especially when it starts to slow at the end, it sounds a bit like a music box running down.
For The Beauty of Running Circles
I'm the only one who's tangled up in here
But I've grown to love the knots
The beauty of running circles is that it never seems to stop
It just connects the dots
Absolutely fits the web aesthetic in a weird way. It specifically makes me think of a web avatar that’s stopped feeding like Daisy did in season 4.
I agree that Prison Food fits the lonely. This bit especially
A trace of me, it floats in my periphery
And every time I turn to see it goes
Specifically reminds me of Martin’s domain and his conversation with himself.

now onto specific episode songs! comfort crowd by conan gray for #13 alone (more naomi and evan's relationship saving each other from the lonely than the statement itself), astronaut by simple plan for #57 personal space, coffeebar by the late night call for #67 burning desire (again more like before all the crazy shit happened) and cigarette daydreams by cage the elephant for #186 quiet (martin @ martin)
“soComfort crowd hits the theme of being anchored in the lonely by loved ones for sure.
We rot, thinkin' lots about nothing
Yeah, I could spend a lifetime
Sitting here talkin'
And even if I cry all over your body
You don't really mind
Say you like your shirt soggy
Astronaut is almost too perfect, I gotta wonder if Jonny was listening to this while writing the episode like.
'Cause tonight I'm feeling like an astronaut
Sending SOS from this tiny box
And I lost all signal when I lifted off
Now I'm stuck out here and the world forgot
Can I please come down?
'Cause I'm tired of drifting 'round and 'round
Can I please come down?
Sidenote, I genuinely adore the proud playlist tradition of finding a song that has strong metaphorical imagery and just going “no it’s literal now.” We’re right and we should say it.
Agnes just having herself a little coffee shop au of her own life, as a treat, is both so tragic and charming at the same time.
Every Friday after work
I stand beside a
Lovely little
Coffee bar and
See this girl reading
In her black skirt
I guess she smells
Just like green clover
One street away
And every Friday I wanna pay
Every tea she wants to take
Cigarette Daydreams definitely captures the atmosphere of that episode.
You sigh, look away
I can see it clear as day
Close your eyes, so afraid
Hide behind that baby face
Also if “soft spot, with a mean streak” doesn’t describe Martin I don’t know what does.

a sky full of stars by coldplay is such a simon song. also black hole sun by soundgarden is a people's church of the divine host/maxwell rayner song. my history will be the death of me by michael malarkey has big big trevor herbert vibes
Asdfasdsjfalsdf ok Sky Full of Stars very much does work for Simon and that is delightful to me.
I don't care, go on and tear me apart
I don't care if you do, ooh
'Cause in a sky, 'cause in a sky full of stars
I think I saw you
I have this excellent mental image of Manuela Dominguez just blasting Black Hole Sun on repeat on the Daedalus while she works on the Dark Sun. Important to get the Vibes right.
Neath the black, the sky looks dead
Call my name
Through the cream
And I'll hear you scream again
That pretty much sums up the People’s Church right there.
My History Will Be the Death of Me definitely fits for Trevor.
I got the fight of the lion in me
And I clench my teeth when I can't speak and I can't breathe
Because there's no words for this inability to see the
Decency in these people around me
Especially works with the Hunt shifting him from someone who fights monsters to one of the monsters himself.

don't make me by malinda is an elias song and love is not a thing to burn by michael malarkey is an agnes song
The Elias vibes for Don’t Make Me really are impeccable
Eggshells crack beneath your feet
The ugly truth is bittersweet
So dress it up in fancy clothes
But we both know how this goes
feels like his particular veneer of Reasonable Manager, combined with burning awful, traumatizing knowledge into his employees brains.
Someday I shall kill that man with a stick.
Love is Not a Thing to Burn has me so emo about Agnes actually!
Love is not a thing to burn
All the words eventually falter
Had enough room, gave 'em hell
Gave 'em hope
Perfect for the chosen one of an evil fire cult, growing up loved as both a child and a god by people who want to use her to end the world.

heya! i just found your blog and since i have a tma playlist with like 141 songs i thought why not add some? i'm probably gonna send multiple asks, sorry. anyway sugar on my tongue by josh woodward is a s4 jon song and south by sleeping at last is a s4/5 jon song
Don’t apologize for multiple songs, this is legit just how I find new music! I’m vibing with Sugar on my Tongue
My vision is so narrow through this telescopic lens
It magnifies the secrets as the broken image bends, and all I
See is the reflection of someone who looks like you
But I'm too jaded from the journey to make sense of all the truth
Definitely does fit for season 4 Jon and his relationship to the Beholding.
I can definitely see South for him as well
I'm always looking up
'Til my eyes give up
That's how I lost touch
Of who I was
This man cannot catch a single break, huh.

I was scrolling for my own character playlist inspo (i added fear and delight to my elias playlist) but i totally see “bury a friend” as a jon song (idk which season) but god that chorus is a VIBE. and I didn’t see anything for elias, so I offer “you should see me in a crown” and “Centuries” for him. btw, this is a great project and i can’t wait to scroll for more inspo!
Oh, I can absolutely see these. Bury a Friend makes me think of Jon watching the statement givers’ nightmares, especially since Billie Eilish said it was inspired by her sleep paralysis. Also this bit
Then my limbs all froze and my eyes won't close
And I can't say no, I can't say no
Really does encapsulate Jon’s description of being frozen and unable to do anything but watch...
You’re absolutely right that You Should See Me In a Crown is an Elias song, the first verse especially has strong Vibes:
Bite my tongue, bide my time
Wearing a warning sign
Wait 'til the world is mine
Visions I vandalize
Cold in my kingdom size
Fell for these ocean eyes
Perfect for a man who spent hundreds of years bodysnatching people via their eyes and preparing to kick off an apocalypse and become ‘king of a ruined world.’
I’d never considered Centuries as an Elias song but it does fit surprisingly well
And I can't stop 'til the whole world knows my name
Cause I was only born inside my dreams
Until you die for me
As long as there's a light
My shadow's over you
Cause I-I am the opposite of amnesia
Side note, It’d be better to send in songs with the artists’ names so I can be sure I have the right one!

I really vibe to The Mystic by Adam Jensen for Sasha. Especially the second verse and the chorus.
Oh I’m so glad someone sent in a song for Sasha! If only it had not immediately destroyed me emotionally...
Mama doesn't call
Sister never writes
Bet you they would laugh
If I called to say goodbye
No ones gonna worry
Notice when I'm gone
No they won't know I'm missin'
'Till they pull me out the mystic
That’s fine! I’m fine! I hope Sasha is enjoying her kayaking!!!

Inbox is currently empty, and I finished and turned in my last paper for this year, so as a reward for myself here are some songs that, in my opinion, belong on the playlist.
WHEN I WAS OLDER by Billie Eilish for Jon
Guess I got caught in the middle of it
Yes I've been taught, got a little of it
In my blood, in my blood
and of course
I'm still a victim in my own right
But I'm the villain in my own eyes, yeah
For JonMartin
The Taxpayers cover of Set Ourselves Free by The Wild
But now as we go
Down this long dark road
We'll keep our eyes fixed on one another
With your hands in mine
And some trust and a smile
We'll know there's no hill too big for us to climb
I’m having an entire emotion! Their love is their anchor during the literal apocalypse! Martin is Jon’s reason! Fuck!
Autoclave by The Mountain Goats is a great song for Jon and Georgie
Hand me your hand, let me look in your eyes
As my last chance to feel human begins to vaporize
and
I am this great, unstable mass of blood and foam
And no one in her right mind would make my home her home
The Noise by Regina Spektor feels like a song for Daisy, and the idea of listening to the blood/listening to the quiet
Still
It's a choice
And I choose
To rage
Instead of
Ever
Quietly
Listening
And this bit in particular feels like whatever quiet part of Daisy remains inside her hunter self calling out for Jon
I can't hear you
I can't hear you
I can't hear you anymore
I can't hear you, I
Can't hear you
I can't hear you through this noise
Hmm! Devastating! Why do I do this to myself!
Little Pistol by Mother Mother for Melanie
And I, well I found what's best for me
And now I see no tragedy
And I, I found a burning rose
And now I won't be packing little pistols
No, no, no more
Particularly makes me think of Melanie escaping both the Slaughter and the Beholding, and how her blinding herself was in context actually the best thing for her.
and finally, Going Invisible 2 by The Mountain Goats for Tim.
Etch an outline on your heart
I'm gonna blow the whole circus apart
Is almost too on the nose, but the rest of the song fits for him thematically as well!

Lets go with some songs for the odd fear out: The Extinction. "Exploding Future Blues" by Lionize is a big ol bulletlist of the stuff that freaks people out about days to come. where as "Church of the Technochrist" by closure in moscow is a joyous embrace of the new that I could just imagine an Extinction Avatar spouting. Finally, Bombs by Bnny Rbbt for just being... wrong? From the way it's sung to the overall feeling of impending doom.
All of these are absolutely on point.
Exploding Future Blues fits with the extinction as a fear that humans caused the end of the world and have to live with it.
We're always on the brink of extinction, it's not hard to see
We're always on the brink of distinction what separates You from me
Nothing left to lose we all lit the fuse, nothing left to lose, Exploding future blues
Church of the Technochrist, meanwhile, has elements of the what-comes-after-us part of the extinction, the idea of humanity twisting itself so far with technology that it’s not really human anymore.
And Bombs does very much have the sense of dread about living in a post-apocalyptic world! (I can also see it as a post 160 jonmartin song).

How about Animal Skin by Bryan Dunn for The Hunt? "You were being kicked about//Backed up, teeth and claws are out//Covered in blood, covered in blood//Let it flow, let it flow, let it flow" and "They say you're the predator//Somehow killed the messenger" are lines that stick out to me the most
Oh for sure. The lines about blood you mention makes me think of Daisy talking about how she can hear the hunt in her blood. I also think that the line
If you dress it up, you'll have to break it in
But you never look better then when you wear your animal skin
fits with the general trend of people who are associated with the entities getting pulled deeper and deeper into full avatarship.

Dust and Ashes from Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 for Jon when he's in his coma
This song really captures the emotions of Jon’s choice between dying human or living as an avatar of beholding.
How did I live?
I taste every wasted minute
Every time I turned away
From the things that might have healed me
How long have I been sleeping?
Is this how I die?
Frightened like a child
Lazy and numb
Is this how I die?
However, my brain is a terrible little gremlin, and the part that sticks out to me the most is
Is this how I die?
Ridiculed and laughed at
Wearing clown shoes
Fitting, considering he “died” in the unknowing, but also a mental image that makes me extremely happy.

The Shovel by Bonefield is a Buried song for sure! I was surprised when I found it because out of all of the entities I figured the Buried would be the hardest to put to song.
Absolutely! Beyond the obvious connection with the dirt/grave imagery, some of the lyrics in the song remind me of the desperation and obsession that show up in a bunch of the statements.
I found a plank behind a door
And our plank broke once more
I started to dig with my bare hands
Skinnin' my flesh to the core
Disturbing!
