Hey, everyone, this is a message we really hoped we wouldn’t have to make, but all good things must come to an end. We want to let you all know formally that we’re deciding to shut down MOW for now — I’m a firm believer in a roleplay’s business being a roleplay’s business, but all members here know of what has been going on lately. In light of all this, Em and I just are unable to continue with this, knowing there are people who are unhappy. Opening a discussion up with our members, we had hoped to find a solution, but it has come to the point where Em and I are simply exhausted and we cannot give MOW the attention it deserves right now. 

 We do want to thank everyone for giving their honest opinions throughout this whole thing, because putting tape over the cracks isn’t something we ever wanted to do, and opening our eyes and making everyone realise the true extent to what’s been going on was very important. In truth, Em and I wanted to revamp, with major changes and a new plan to make sure that MOW became a space where everyone was comfortable and happy again — but we also have to take into account our own lives. When we first opened MOW, it had taken us about a month to prepare everything, and that was during the summer holidays when neither of us had many obligations like school and our mental health was in much better state. Right now, we are both swamped with real life obligations and the stress & anxiety a revamp is causing us means that it’s simply not plausible right now. We’re awfully sorry, because we do feel we should try harder to fix things here, but we cannot do that right now with our heads being where they’re at. 

 We do hope to revamp at some point in the future — tentatively, I want to say around summer, where we’ll both have time and hopefully our mental health will be in a better position. Writing with all of you was wonderful and we want to thank you all for the last six months, we’re sorry once again.

Hey, everyone ! We’re so sorry if this feels abrupt in any way, but Jessie and I have been discussing the state of the group a lot lately and we’ve decided that the best thing to do is place everything on a temporary hold until we can have a conversation with all the members and decide together what our next step should be. This means that while we do encourage everyone to continue RPing if you’d like, we will not be accepting any new applications at this time (very sorry to the anons in our inbox! we greatly appreciate your interest); nor will we be posting plot drops/events or doing activity checks. 

This decision has come from a lot of factors that I won’t delve into here, but they basically all add up to the fact that the atmosphere of this group has dwindled down greatly from the fun, exciting, and (we believe) welcoming place it once was. We’ve put so much into mow and it’s been mine and Jessie’s baby for over five months now, and we hope moving forward that we can do what’s best for all of you incredible members. So please stay tuned for an announcement in the discord group in which we’ll elaborate on the issues we’ve been facing and which we hope will open up a conversation about where we should go from here.

Is there any chance you guys are thinking of putting out a new batch of characters?

Hiya ! At the moment, I’m going to say we’re not going to put out another batch for a while. Even from the beginning, our vision for the roleplay was for it to be small. On top of that, the idea of producing a complete batch right now wouldn’t be particularly viable for Em and I. I will say, though, that once we advance towards post-war in a few months, there’ll be new characters. We do have four open characters currently, if you’re interested in joining, anon !

Happy New Year, everyone !! The purpose of this task is to get everyone’s muse flowing during this hectic time of year — which means it’s officially time for moodboards !! You can post gif moodboards, aesthetic moodboards, style moodboards, graphic template moodboards, anything you’d like. They can be about your character or they can be about your connections, your character’s family / relationships to NPCs, AUs, or other characters in the group. There is no limit to how many you can post, and for the next week all moodboards will count towards activity ! You’re encouraged to continue posting them once the week is done, of course, but they will no longer count towards activity at that time. 

As always, please be sure to tag everything with mowtask, and let us know if you have any questions ! We’re happy to provide examples of different moodboards if there’s any confusion, or help you find the resources to make them. Also, remember that this is completely optional and 100% just for fun !

Happy Holidays ! We have two characters open at the moment, Padma Patil and Blaise Zabini. I’d say they’re really both equally wanted, each of them have plots and connections we’d love to see continued as soon as possible. Please just keep in mind that Blaise’s skeleton is currently under construction as we are updating his connections (although if you’d like to get started on your app, feel free to DM us and we’ll be happy to give you the details of the connections before we officially write them up) !

We’re so sorry for the delay in announcing our next acceptance date ! The holidays have been a rather hectic time for everyone. We’ve decided that our next acceptances will take place in the morning on Thursday, 3 January, with the submit closing at 11:55pm EST on Wednesday 2 January.
