Hello everyone.

You've seen me ask for help a few times over the past year and change and I'm indescribably grateful to all of you who helped us, but I have to put myself out here and ask for assistance one last time.

We just received an intent to evict notice. We have 9 days from today (11/22/23) to pay the full balance or action will be taken to begin repossession of our home.

We had been paying off our back rent steadily, throwing as much of our paychecks at the hole every two weeks like clockwork, over the past months and it was working. We were climbing, albeit very slowly, out of the hole and keeping ahead of any action like this by clearing the back balance out. But my husband lost his job in August because someone several cities away decided having a court appearance on record for back rent was sufficient grounds for firing. With that, suddenly we couldn't do it. We still put everything we could towards the rent, everything of my paychecks and his unemployment except the bare minimum to pay other bills and keep us fed, but it wasn't enough. He has just gotten a new job and we've started paying more again, but it was too late to clear that last back edge of the rent timer.

Please, please, anything you can do to help is appreciated. We don't want to lose our home. I'm not even sure where we would go.

When human rights violations go unpunished, history keeps repeating itself. Armenians are experiencing it right now, again, as the world stays silent, again.

you may call it the "disputed region" of Nagorno-Karabakh or something else. It is irrelevant, there are Armenian people living here, as there have been for thousands of years—who are being subjected to ethnic cleansing, are being indiscriminately bombed, destroyed, and erased.

This isn't about a “disputed territory”. It’s about fundamental human rights, including the right of Armenians of Karabakh to live freely and peacefully on the land of their ancestors.

What also hurts is that most don’t know/don’t care… because the media algorithm has not told them to care, so they don’t. Again.

Have you heard of the sooty owl? They are frightening and their eyes are probably hell portals.

i DID actually while i was looking up owls a while back oh MAN they have incredible faces, like some kinda confused ghost who ended up in a bird and now just has to live with it

looks like they come in lesser and greater sooty flavors, and theyre both pretty similar except for their sizes (about 43 cm for the greater, 37 for the lesser)

theyre like someone took a barn owl and just lowered the brightness, threw some speckles in there, made their eyes a direct portal to the infinite nightmarish abyss, called it a day

the YOUNG SOOTY OWLS on the other hand dont even look like real animals. they look like someone made a dodo out of felt and accidentally left it in a dryer. owls are great
