Dipping my toe into fandom talk for a moment…

but I feel like I haven’t seen anyone really talking about the fact that the ghoul took all of the blame for the super duper mart onto himself.

He never once let on that there had been anyone else involved and it would have been so, so easy for him to shift the little dumbass “governmint” attention to her. Obviously she’d just saved his sanity so it would have been a dick move, but a totally valid one from a pure self interest perspective. It also was during that whole conversation that he makes the decision to sew her finger on.

Not sure where I’m going with this but I can’t stop thinking about the fact that he basically ensured that no one else knew she had been there. It struck me as significant.

I swear the funniest thing antis will do is say "how can you ship Ghoulcy when he did xyz to her" and then in the next breath will turn and be like "anyways he sees/treats her as a daughter and he's gonna be her father figure." Oh I'm sorry, The Ghoul? You mean the same person you were just saying was so horrible to her? That Ghoul? You're cool with his actions now?

Like the things he did only get brought up when we ship them, as if it's not the same person they champion as her new dad. I understand if personally you don't like it when one half hurts the other in a ship (or when both do), that's completely fair, but I'm pretty sure no likes it either when a parent/parental figure does the same to their (surrogate) child, so like what's the math here 🤨

Feeling a lot of feelings about how Hadestown doesn't present the story as "Orpheus turned around and everything fell apart and there was nothing anyone could do to fix it" and instead presents a story that says "he turned around, he doubted, he failed, but if we keep telling his story maybe one day Orpheus won't" and it's not just about Orpheus as a single character, it's a bout every Orpheus, everyone who runs up against a system they can't change and fails and everyone who sees that failure and gets back up and says "maybe I can change it now" and tries again. That Orpheus failed isn't the takeaway of the story. The takeaway is that one day he might succeed.

I've been in the Fallout fandom for approximately 5 minutes in internet time and I'm already so, so annoyed by age gap discourse.

Why is so much of fandom (generally) so eager to strip the agency from an adult woman? Lucy is old enough for sex and marriage and extreme violence but she's not old enough to enter into a relationship with another adult??

Watching people say ‘oh Lucy is like 20 you can’t ship her with the ghoul’ girl. Girl. Let her have this, it’s a nuclear wasteland and she used to fuck her cousin. Let her have the old man. She’ll be fine. My source is I’m 22 and I wanna fuck the ghoul so bad it makes me look stupid. I would not feel abused if he wanted to fuck me in return.

fandom tumblr was another casualty of streaming services. we used to be on here posting about the episodes that were coming out weekly and posting gifs and writing insane shit about the tv shows we liked. now a new season of a show will drop and we’ll talk about it for a week. two weeks tops. and then that show will leave collectively conscious for 1+ year till the next season drops. there’s a reason succession sundays was a blast on here
