TAKING ONE FOR THE TEAM

We are back. We are still part of SP team. Proud members of the SP team. We might be 4 years older since our last post.. Our lives might have changed significantly in these years. But, we support this band through all this time. And when I say “we”, I am talking about my friend and me. Mila and Kari, a brasilian and an argentinian, who became good friends thanks to Simple Plan.

We created this tumblr way back in 2012, in order to have a place where we could both share our experiences in the Get Your Heart On! tour brought Simple Plan to our lands in South America.

And here we are, 4 years later. And here they are, 4 years later. Their south american tour “Taking One For The Team” just ended. Mila and I got the chance to hang out with Pierre, Chuck, Sebastien & Jeff once again. I went to the show in Buenos Aires, she travelled to see them in Sao Paulo and also she saw them in Rio de Janeiro.

Our hearts are full of SP feelings. So, we decided it was about time to get this space back and share some memories of TOFTT tour.

You know, they still make our crazy little hearts go BOOM!

Tonight was incredible. I have no words for this. Kari and I have been trying to watch "Magic Mike" online since forever, but we never get a date, or a good link to watch it and today she had this amazing idea to watch A Big Package For You again. Our own way to end the South America Tour.

We tried to start watching at the same time, we are a few millions miles away from each other, and we tried our best to watch it together, but for some supernatural reason Kari's notebook was always late! Like we were at the same time and then we weren't anymore HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA It was hilarious trying to hit the "play" at the same time.

It was so good to watch ABPFY again, and "with" Kari. The best way to end this South America Tour mood and start waiting for their book.

The truth is that I guess I will never ever have enough words to say how much I'm thankful to this band. How special they are. How much they mean to me. It doesn't matter how many times they say "we are here because of the fans". No. WE are here because of them.

It scares me to think what my life would be without their music, and I swear I'm not being dramatic. Their music has been here for me through some tough times, when I didn't have anyone. Life has been giving me so much shit in the last couple of years, and it's been so hard to keep going, to have faith, to be strong, to keep living and just not go insane... We can always find the right words to hold on to in their musics and that's what keeps me going.

I owe those 5 men so much, they have the power to sing their hearts out in their music and they care so much about us, you should truly feel luck for being in this fandom. I know many bands that don't give a shit about their fans. 

I don't like showing favoritism but after everything I've seen I feel I need to thank Chuck. I owe him too much. He is always the one who works harder, he is the pillar of this band and I believe SP wouldn't be here if it wasn't for him. So thank you so much, Chuck. I admire everything you are and what you have done for this band so far has affect so many lives across the world and I'm glad mine is one of them. We are proud of SP. Learning about their band, their lives and their stories is learning about their music and I can't wait to put my hands in my copy of SP's book.

From the moment you start loving a certain person and feel inspired or influenced by them, it becomes important to know if you also admire them. Admiration is more important than love, in this case. 

It is that one factor that makes you love. And if you don't admire who you love, what's the purpose?

It felt so right to watch ABFY now, just a few weeks after seeing them. It was great to see how much they have grown up in the last 10 years.

So many memories. All the times I got the meet them. How Kari and I started talking. The huge MySpace comments! And of course I will be forever thankful to this band for giving me a best friend. We have been through a lot for the past couple of years, my friend. But 2012 was nicer, still not perfect, but things are slowly getting into places and we got to share this amazing mood together (btw we broke twitter again).
