FRESH START

The past is a thing that got me here.  I had dreams that led me to thrilling places beyond my wildest dreams.  Namely: New York City.  What a life I lived and what amazing people I met.  The destination was never New York, though.  I can see that now.  The destination was always and always will be my sense of self.

Now I’m looking to California.  I lived there for four years as a child, so it’s a part of me.  But now, I’m ready to return to the Western land that has since become foreign to me and continue exploring me, with new eyes, new confidence, and new goals.  To leave behind what’s comfortable and embrace a new way of living and of seeing--that’s my challenge.

I can do it.  For now, I’ll keep daydreaming.

This summer is step one.  I’ll visit.  Take the Golden Coast for a test drive.

For now, keep acting.  Keep creating.  Keep growing.  Year 1 of the  MFA: almost complete.  Thanks, Providence, for everything you’ve taught me so far.  What a blessing you have been.

You love theater, but dive into film.  This summer, you'll make something with your friends and collaborators.  Experiment with all of your heart. 

You no longer have a NY State of Mind.  You did it for five years, and your eyes are set on the Golden Coast.  LA.  Palm trees.  A car.  A new adventure.  A risk. Plan for it.  Save for it.  You’ll make it happen.
