hot artists don't gatekeep
I've been resource gathering for YEARS so now I am going to share my dragons hoard
Floorplanner. Design and furnish a house for you to use for having a consistent background in your comic or anything! Free, you need an account, easy to use, and you can save multiple houses.
Comparing Heights. Input the heights of characters to see what the different is between them. Great for keeping consistency. Free.
Magma. Draw online with friends in real time. Great for practice or hanging out. Free, paid plan available, account preferred.
Smithsonian Open Access. Loads of free images. Free.
SketchDaily. Lots of pose references, massive library, is set on a timer so you can practice quick figure drawing. Free.
SculptGL. A sculpting tool which I am yet to master, but you should be able to make whatever 3d object you like with it. free.
Pexels. Free stock images. And the search engine is actually pretty good at pulling up what you want.
Figurosity. Great pose references, diverse body types, lots of "how to draw" videos directly on the site, the models are 3d and you can rotate the angle, but you can't make custom poses or edit body proportions. Free, account option, paid plans available.
Line of Action. More drawing references, this one also has a focus on expressions, hands/feet, animals, landscapes. Free.
Animal Photo. You pose a 3d skull model and select an animal species, and they give you a bunch of photo references for that animal at that angle. Super handy. Free.
Height Weight Chart. You ever see an OC listed as having a certain weight but then they look Wildly different than the number suggests? Well here's a site to avoid that! It shows real people at different weights and heights to give you a better idea of what these abstract numbers all look like. Free to use.

Yay, unsolicited advice time! Or, not really advice, more like miscellaneous tips and tricks, because if there's one thing eight years of martial arts has equipped me to write, it's fight scenes.
.
Fun things to add to a fight scene (hand to hand edition)
It's not uncommon for two people to kick at the same time and smack their shins together, or for one person to block a kick with their shin. This is called a shin lock and it HURTS like a BITCH. You can be limping for the rest of the fight if you do it hard enough.
If your character is mean and short, they can block kicks with the tip of their elbow, which hurts the other guy a lot more and them a lot less
Headbutts are a quick way to give yourself a concussion
If a character has had many concussions, they will be easier to knock out. This is called glass jaw.
Bad places to get hit that aren't the groin: solar plexus, liver, back of the head, side of the thigh (a lot of leg kicks aim for this because if it connects, your opponent will be limping)
Give your character a fighting style. It helps establish their personality and physicality. Are they a grappler? Do they prefer kicks or fighting up close? How well trained are they?
Your scalp bleeds a lot and this can get in your eyes, blinding you
If you get hit in the nose, your eyes water
Adrenaline's a hell of a drug. Most of the time, you're not going to know how badly you've been hurt until after the fact
Even with good technique, it's really easy to break toes and fingers
Blocking hurts, dodging doesn't
.
Just thought these might be useful! If you want a more comprehensive guide or a weapons edition, feel free to ask. If you want, write how your characters fight in the comments!
Have a bitchin day <3

Okay so I was still thinking about the pokemon AU and Jason Todd.
Zorua having always turned into different Pokémon because there’s a prejudice against them that gets ppl mad. So this Zorua, Argo, would disguise itself for food. Jason is the first who saw Argo as a Zorua and still decided to help.  They become friends without poke balls. When Catherine dies and Jason is homeless, the Argo helps him out on the street so they become a duo. Often Argo disguises itself as Jason like twins. When he gets adopted by Bruce, Jason ‘catches’ Argo since they have poke balls now but they’re never actually in the balls all Ash-Pikachu style.
When Batman first meets the duo he sees a boy and his growlithe or something equally “family friendly”. Or something tougher, but not too tough who knows. The two of them are great observers and they strategize full of quick thinking and maneuvering opponents.
Argo’s mom had been killed by Joker. Joker has a scar on his face from this altercation. He wanted to use Argo for a trap of some sort and Zoruark did a Corazon and Law with Zorua. They used to live in Amusement Park Mile
When Jason ran away to search for his bio mom he traveled to different Pokémon regions. They died in Hisuia with Sheila and Argo comes back in the Hisuian form

my favorite thing to make Jason do when I write him is to make home synonymous with gotham. you ask him to imagine if we grew up together and he responds why do you want to imagine growing up in gotham. You tell him to plant a garden and he complains about Poison Ivy. Making his mind so intrinsically linked to living in Gotham despite how much he's travelled is so fun. You say home and he thinks of battered city streets. You ask about his future and the it's murky from the city smog. Like that's his shitty city and he won't ever leave it. not for forever.

i kept a physical notebook with storynotes in like 2021 that had all the beats and nuances to like every bnha fic i've thought about (which is a ridiculous amount tbh) and i cannot find it. I wrote the chapter names on the google doc and know that one of them is a titualr metaphor but i forgot how i was gonna incorporate it lol.

What is it? The Month of Motherhood in Fiction is, as the name implies, a month-long event with the aim of encouraging the creation and sharing of fan works which center on mothers, motherhood, and the social and personal complexities of both.
Mainstream fiction often fridges mothers, demonizes mothers, sanitizes motherhood into something pure and edgeless, or frames motherhood as something that is both hetero and cis-nomative and stifling. The aim of this event is to encourage the breaking of that framework through fanworks. Show us real characters, not archetypes. Show us grit and realness. Push boundaries, break convention, and push definitions.
While we do want this to shine a spotlight on canonical mothers, we also want to celebrate motherhood as a feeling and experience anyone can have — a type of experience, rather than a gendered experience.
Who can participate? Anyone! This is a multi-fandom, mulit-media event.
What are the guidelines? Create something! Fic submissions must be at least 500 words. Add it to our AO3 collection and/or tag this blog on a tumblr post, so we can reblog it. At the end of September, we will create a big round-up post, and tag all the creators who participated! If your work is a little late, don't worry, you can still post it and we'll reblog it!
Any rating or subject matter is welcome in this event, but please tag and warn correctly. NSFW and works with heavily triggering content will be clearly marked in the round-up posts. Improperly tagged work will not be included in the round-up post.
