HHVFM
In the heart of east downtown Houston, better know as EADO, we had the opportunity to vend at the Hip Hop Vintage Flea Market for the first time.
If you have not already heard of the HHVFM it is largely known for hosting some of the top Vintage stores in Houston and bringing in thousands of people on a monthly basis. As you walk through the HHVFM you are hit with a sense of nostalgia taking you back to an era of vintage Polo, Oilers team gear and 90’s concert tees galore.
Even though we have personally known the founders of the HHVFM years before its establishment and have been to it numerous times we had never actually set up a booth there. We had always been fearful to be apart of it since the majority of vendors were vintage stores and we weren’t exactly sure of how we would adequate to their market. After months debating we came to realization that even if we don’t sell anything we would at least have a good time and be supporting an incredible organization centered around positive hip hop culture, art and unity. We said, “Fuck it” and contacted Erika, founder of HHVFM and B-Girl City, who managed to squeeze us in last minute.
That ended up being one of the best decisions we’ve ever made and would extremely recommend it to any small business. HHVFM features an audience of all cultures who are interested in learning and sharing. Besides all the visitors that stopped by our booth to shop we received an overwhelming amount of people that were curious about our brand and just wanted to get to know us. We take great pleasure in meeting people from our community and telling them what we are about. If you are a business that is trying to grown your brand you must understand that it’s not always about being in the best situation to sell. Sometimes it's about brand awareness, by that I mean getting people to know who you are and what you stand for whether it’s with customers, visitors or other vendors.
Will we see you be at the next HHVFM?

META1
The creative process for an artist can be both the best of times and the worst of times. In our case, it was one of our most enjoyable experiences. For our latest collection, we wanted to bring some history to our designs.
After searching through hundreds of articles and books for inspiration, we came across a piece of propaganda from 1917 tied to the Russian revolution. This controversial piece eventually led to our Beware The Revolution long sleeve artwork, one of our greatest designs yet.
In this collection, we used a bright red and vibrant, highlighter green to emphasize and communicate our interpretation of this form of propaganda. The silhouette we decided to use for our shirts were made to be tough and durable while still versatile enough for any style of fashion.
For the Metamorphosis 1993 hoodies, we wanted to offer a new approach by using the hoodie’s central pocket to feature our primary design. This placement is intentional, and used to create a 3D effect when worn and by the consumer. We added a secondary logo on the top left of the hoodie, perfectly square and intended to serve as a small homage to the Beware the Revolution piece.
The experience while creating this collection has been both educational and truly gratifying. We are looking forward to releasing this collection on January 25, 2019 and can’t wait to share our future projects.

The Metamorphosis I collection is coming to an end featuring Beware the Revolution and Metamorphosis 1993. This last increment of Metamorphosis I features references to the 1917 Russian Revolution and their series of propaganda posters. The design featured above is the representation of the Revolution and the terror that it brought to the government. Governmental corruption and inefficiency were rampant; the revolution was inevitable.
