I plugged all four chapters of Finn Corvex's prime empire rewrite into ChatGPT cause I got tired of waiting and wanted an ending. He was taking too long and I needed answers.

ChatGPT almost crashed from the 50k words of content but it only gave me 6k in response and I was pretty upset about it. Esp bc Beta died in there and he better not die in ch5 or I will plug every chapter into ChatGPT to rewrite it and then publish it.

I don't think what I did was that bad. I just wanted content and I made myself content

I have a Ninjago Sin for you: I have written many drafts for fanfiction of Ninjago (all fluff and pure, I promise) and have posted them, but have left them unfinished with the number of chapters in the single digits and have ghosted my readers for months because I simply cannot finish them :/

We are both grave sinners. Choose one, write something for it. It can be just one sentence. But make some amount of progress on something.

But then get to writing what you have motivation to! Even if that goes unfinished too, it's better to get your ideas out there!

I used to get Lloyd's name and Link from Legend of Zelda's name mixed up in conversation. My sister would be playing BOTW and I'd ask "what outfit is Lloyd wearing" and then I'd see art of Lloyd and go "oh hey there Link!". I always corrected myself in the end but I used to be absolute dogshit at telling them apart properly and I cannot honestly tell you why because my memories from that time period are a pile of mushy slop

this is almost certainly a sin (have you seen the floyd dragon video? people pile on people not getting Lloyd's name right)

but this is also very adorable, and I love it. You are forgiven- no questions asked.

I love the Weekend Whip and the season 5 version was my #1 most listened to song in 2022 according to Spotify wrapped. (Season 5 is not my favorite season, the ghost whip is just the best version)

One of my sins? I hated Kai at first, like he was my least fav by a mile, until I joined the fandom and you all had such good takes on his character that he’s now one of my favs, despite being entirely opposite to me in lots of aspects

now, in the largest version of fandom, this is a sin. All the normies love kai, and think he should have been the green ninja.

but we're talking about actual fandom here, and within the actual fandom, I don't think this is too uncommon. Not liking kai early on seems to be somewhat of a trend in certain sects.

i think morro is a very flat character with not much more going on than the other one-off villains (like chen or nadakhan) and most of his fandom comes from what he could be rather than what he is; which is fine we all do that with lots of characters in this fandom but i don't get when people say he's that complex and nuanced in-canon personally. because he really isn't.

It's cuz he was redeemed. The fact that 'he was bad but then... hey maybe he could be good again?' that adds that instant sense of complexity for people.

I'd agree with you, morro is edgy boy teenager ghost, not much deeper in canon. unfortunately, the fandom largely disagrees with us on this one at the moment.

My ninjago sin is that I agree with the anon that mentioned how Harumi and Morro should be treated more so the same, or at least not so differently. There are a lot of different reasons to hate and like these characters but imo the treatment harumi gets in comparison to other male characters like her feels like misogyny. I mean whether or not you think harumi was redeemed in Crystalized (which I don’t think she was) Garmadon wasn’t either and also had a hand in taunting Lloyd all season long, but you don’t hear people talk about that. Same thing with Misako actually. I just don’t think it makes any sense to have characters like Morro and Garmadon be acceptable to have aus where everything is fine and Lloyd can have some type of positive relationship with them but oh as soon as it’s a woman all hell breaks loose (especially when all of these characters have done a lot of wrong but have been shown to at least have a potential redemption)

Anyway, if DR actually did give Harumi a FULL redemption arc I’d be here for it

See, I don't entirely disagree with y'all on this, and I do think that there is a lot of fandom sexism thrown at harumi, but I just... they are not on the same level of redeemability.

My main reason being that we see morro offered redemption, and he takes it. No matter how poorly it's written, it's there.

We see Harumi offered redemption, and she flirts with the idea by saving some lives, she has a moment of realization, and then she immediately turns her back on it. I know season 9 and 15 aired years apart, but timeline wise, her pledging allegiance to the overlord happens the exact same day as her supposed change of heart. it's not like she was slowly lured back to evil, she took the first chance she got to get power back.

Both of these characters, in their original inception could possibly be redeemed. If things ended at season 9, I would be fine with 'everything is okay' harumi aus, but they didn't.

With all these other characters, it's about offering them redemption. With harumi, it's about offering her a second one, when she doubled down in the most insane way in rejecting her first one.

Everyone deserves a second chance. Not everyone deserves a third. At least not from you.

that's my two cents, but also, I think the fandom is against harumi EVER being redeemed as well. For that part specifically- sin

confession time: for over a year I assumed I coined the surname Jiang for Kai and Nya, but a few months ago I found out someone was here years before me, and they had the exact same idea as me, and this whole time I'd been saying "yeah I came up with Jiang" when if anything I just unknowingly popularized someone elses hc... this isnt even like a deep or heavy burden it just makes me stop and think once in a while..

I feel you. In a similar place with Raincloud. I founded the ship (at least on tumblr) and popularized it to the point it's at as far as I can tell, but I did not come up with the ship name. That was @jaydhdwalker. And I always feel a little uncomfy when people say i came up with it, cuz I know a lot of people had the same thought at the same time. As evidenced by Horizonshipping which is an alternate ship name (cuz, you know, the sky meets the sea) that cropped up on other platforms. Although I do think raincloud is better, cuz you know, horizon can also be the land meeting the sky so...

anyway. point being, big oof. don't take credit for stuff you didn't do. you gotta start tagging your stuff with smith now.

Morro-Harumi anon here, I want to clarify that I don't think that they should be treated exactly the same, more so that the fandom should, idk, not hate Harumi so much then spin around and praise Morro. I had a migraine while writing the first ask and completely said it wrong haha

Bending but never breaking is one of my favorite Ninjago fics.

I’m traumatized before and after like most readers but the pure moments and lore is some of the best I’ve ever found in fanfic.

It’s the most interacted with Ninjago dead dove on Ao3. I know a lot of you have secret read it. CONFESS
