when I see something dated 2019 I think “oh that’s not too long ago” and then I remember that 2019 was not only five years ago but those five years have somehow contained several lifetimes

Hi Neil!
Our librarian fraternity is suddenly split on whether or not you actually exist. Any comment on the matter?
I'm with the side that thinks I don't.

Just wanted to say that i love your watercolour series! It's so lively and well-written. I love the action sequences and how you portray the relationships. I look forward to every update. Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much! I really hope you liked the last update, and I know I say this literally every time, but hopefully the next one won't take quite as long to write.

All The King’s Men.
Chapter Five. Line Of Fire.
Watercolour Series.
Words: 39k
Status: In Progress
Rating: Mature
Relationships: Dick Grayson/Wally West, BatFamily
Summary:
A threat against the Wayne Family arises, one that forces them into hiding. Stuck out in a cabin hidden in the mountains of Montana, Dick has to juggle keeping his family from tearing itself apart, missing his fiance like crazy, and a mystery that has plagued him all his life.
Chapter Five Excerpt:
It wasn’t just the shock of this confession that had his siblings so tongue tied. That, he knew for a fact. He could see it plain as day on each of their faces. No, it was the mental gymnastics required to conjure the image of Bruce Wayne pointing a gun at someone. Some things just defied imagination.
Tim was the first to attempt to speak, and even then, he hesitated. “You...?”
“I was the one who shot Dick,” Bruce repeated. His voice was even and strong, with an inward brutality. He recited every step with an almost clinical detachment, when Dick knew that he was anything but detached from the memory. “I picked up a gun off the street, I checked that it was loaded, and I fired at Dick. When I initially missed, I then chased him across Gotham to the dockyards. Dick called the League for backup and fought me off for as long as he could. And he did well, but it still wasn’t enough. I still shot him. I wouldn’t be satisfied until I pulled the trigger.”
Dick flinched. “Bruce.”
“It’s the truth,” Bruce cut him off sharply. “I’ve seen the CCTV footage. Every minute of it.”
Listen, I know how this looks, and it's not an April Fool's joke. I swear.
