Another aspect of the Gaza Genocide that I want to talk about is the complicity of Internet banking and crowdfunding websites like GoFundMe.

I have seen multiple Gazans raise enough money to leave for Egypt, but the banks and the crowdfunding websites freeze their money or cancel their funds for "suspicious activity" or whatever. Every day that passes in Gaza supplies get more scarce, conditions get more deadly, and the price to cross into Egypt gets more expensive. I've seen people, like ghost-90 here on Tumblr, raise the full amount to get their entire family out of Gaza, but their money gets frozen for so long that the original goal is only a fraction of the price now needed to cross the boarder.

These financial institutions should not be allowed to get away with contributing to the death toll in Gaza. They are intentionally keeping people trapped in a kill zone by withholding money that is rightfully theirs.

I'm so pissed and angry that every avenue for relief for Palestinians is being cut of left and right. It is vile that Gazans are being extorted for 10s of thousands of dollars by the Egyptian gov just to save their family's lives, but even when they play by this corrupt game, the world still finds a way to make them suffer.

My heart is with every Palestinian for the rest of time, from river to sea you will all be free. 🇵🇸❤️

Sherlock Holmes, despite being one of the most adapted characters in media, is almost always characterized differently than in the source material. Despite having a habit of unnerving people with his deductions, and his distaste for the police force, Sherlock Holmes is canonically good at reassuring people, gets along amicably with clients, and has an affectionate relationship with Watson. However, he is almost always adapted to be extremely stoic and unable to interact with people in a regular fashion, as is a common trope with genius characters. Whether being smart but socially inept is a caricature of Savant Syndrome or a result of an effort to create flaw in a character whose skills were not balanced out with much deficit, it is clear that Sherlock Holmes has been the subject of much transformation in the public consciousness, straying from the envisioning of Sir Arthur Ignatius Conan Doyle. Is this modified personality better, creating a more well-rounded and interesting character? Or, does it instead stereotype and boil down the traits that, left alone, made Sherlock Holmes the quintessential star of detective fiction, restorting to trite and digestible cliché? So, i was thinking.

Sherlock Holmes obviously HATES 'passion crimes', as they are sometimes called (eg, cardboard box). One spouse kill the other and the person the other cheated with, or kiss one for baseless jealousy etcetc, and this might also be one of the reasons why he has such a low opinion on romantic (how to find any fault in it!).

But also, Sherlock Holmes, a man who cares so, so, so much and has an incredibly big heart, doing cocaine to cleanse the details of those cases from his mind, when he's young and when he's still not so sure of Watson and his affection towards him and exactly how much he can tell the good doctor. And then they get together and start aging together. Holmes dies and comes back and quits cocaine. And Watson is always there to remind him that life is much better than the awful, ugly case they just solved together. Watson is there to kiss him and hug him tight, shielding Holmes from his own thoughts going always back to what he just solved.

Watson is there instead of his 7% solution, much more stable and reliable than the injection. Holding him tight and keeping him together when all the awful things they saw in the cases come back to Holmes' mind.

Holmes starting to jokingly call Watson his 100% solution, since he has no need to dilute him.

And of course, whenever the thunder has the voice of the cannon or Watson is also having a hard time with memories Holmes is there for him, playing for him, reading for him, holding him close, making him listen to his heartbeat, bringing Watson back to the safety of 221b first and then to that of their cottage.

I always find it hilarious when more recent adaptations of Sherlock Holmes makes Holmes the dreamy heartthrob/attractive one (not that he’s not a total catch) because my dudes, Watson is right there. He is literally like a Victorian wet dream, he is everything that classic Victorian period would find appealing- adventurous, fought for his country, learned, has groomed facial hair (legit that was like the equivalent of being 6’ tall today), polite. He’s got just enough “melancholy” (depression) and rakishness (gambling) to still be a gentleman but like a bad boy gentleman. A real Romantic (both romance how we think of it today and like Romanticism) archetype. If anyone is the heartthrob here, it is Watson.
