Is there a character you’d never even consider including as a demon in ibvs? (Aside from the more obvious)

I mean there's like a ton that I wouldn't bother with but… any characters that are way too good at their jobs or aren't meme-y enough (like. makima or ganondorf or something), characters from stuff I barely know anything about (like homestuck), uhhhhh… probably sans, yeah stuff like that. so far the demon summoning has been pretty low stakes and I think it'll be like that for a while.

#the only reason sans can't appear is just because the story's reality would get so confusing #at this point I barely care whether UT exists in their universe it's just the commitment at this point #like do I really wanna explain that undertale exists but the utmv fandom branched out in a different way #I mean sure. undertale most likely exists in ibvs it's just that getting into it would raise questions #ibvsasks

What kind of band? What will happen to Miles when he gets caught, does Arthur have a machine ready to, uh... remove magic from a person? If not, will they just put him in a cell so that he doesn't lead the rebels?

I'm assuming by band you mean his group of rebels (if it's not that I'm not really sure what that means). aside from that, the idea is that arthur wants to remove miles's magic in order to 'protect him', but I don't think he has the legal ability to force him to unless he, y'know, gets legal permission to do that to people.

even so, I feel like arthur would get conflicted and try to put it off. plus, I did have this thought passing by me that the machine to remove magic likely broke after arthur used it wrong and the government's trying to hide it (they still don't know arthur had anything to do with it though), still trying to figure all that out. so if they manage to arrest miles, that guy is just kind of a sitting duck.

oh! that's a good one. general curiosity, do you make playlists for projects? on the topic of songs and ibvs, are there any specific artists and/or genres you associate with ibvs? do you have any song associations for specific characters?

this ask is from 2021… looks like we're doing this now… whoops…

so what usually ends up happening is that I make a playlist afterwards rather than before. I don't think I've made a project or fandom playlist since 2021-22ish, but back when I did, I would just kinda throw em together, not necessarily for inspiration, but just for fun. I don't have a full playlist I'd consider updated and complete anymore, here are a handful of songs I associate with ibvs a while ago: high dive by shaed is the honorary intro music young and menace by fall out boy sugar honey ice & tea by bring me the horizon don't go outside by poppy the judge by twenty one pilots everything is fine by all time low just pretend by bad omens suffer by get scared giants by imagine dragons

most of the time I end up associating whatever I listen to the most with whatever I'm currently creating. so, only some of these songs are ones I listen to all the time, so whatever works works.

meanwhile, more accurately, I tend to associate ibvs with video game music. it kinda takes the edginess factor out of it, which I prefer honestly. offline I make a lot of jokes about ibvs being a kingdom hearts style game, so all the boss music in those games make me think of ibvs now. nintendo music, sonic music, orchestra mixes, any music that sounds like it'd play in the bg of whatever felix is scheming (read: team skull theme from pokemon mystery dungeon), metal gear rising music, silvagunner mixes, that's where my brain goes a lot. for me, ibvs is a fake game at heart.

I just really wanted to thank you for creating Dreamswap, I know that it’s pretty inactive lately and that you don’t really post on it anymore but thank you for creating such likeable characters.

Things haven’t been great on my side lately but even on my darkest days, just talking or thinking about Dreamswap scenarios managed to bring a smile on my face and actually let me feel relaxed when things went to shit so thank you.

Your creations were able to pull me out of a dark, dark hole and even if it was temporary each time, it still felt very relieving so for that, thank you very much.

You don’t know me and I don’t know you either but you helped me a lot through shitty times without being aware of it.

hey there. this ask got sent to me in yonder 2022; I just wanted to thank the person that sent it. I go back through my inbox to find asks like these and reread them, but I feel a bit bad that I didn't answer directly back then. what was going on in my head back then, it was kind of a mess, maybe I was sort of intimidating back when I was in a crummier situation than I am now. I really appreciate the kind words. they inspire me to try and keep having fun, and they make me feel a little better in the current mess of internet culture and what feels like people just consuming stuff and forgetting about it a couple minutes later. so, thanks. it's really kind!

every time they tell you "that task won't be that daunting once you're doing it" or "it won't be that bad" they're usually right. except when it comes to the dmv

#my brother just took his road test and he got gaslit by the instructor until he failed #apparently she refused to speak clearly and ignored him every time he asked for clarification on instructions #and she told him to make turns when they were already in the middle of intersections #also she told him to park in spaces they'd already driven past #and then failed him for 'not being observant enough' #random stuff #I am appalled. fixing the monika chapters was meant to be a 1-day task, but all the formatting in chapter 12 turned out to be broken when I pasted it into ao3, so it took longer than expected. but yes, now they're done. and they're a little better now. I've changed a lot of the dialogue, so they're probably going to warrant a reread. like, please cleanse your mind of what these chapters used to be (why did nevin hate women so much)

man. I've already edited the monika chapters some, yet I must edit them more, and this frightens me (the dialogue hurts to read. specifically nevin's dialogue. that's why)

edit: oh no… it's even worse than I thought… how did it turn out like this (he finds out she's a supernatural being, makes fun of the way she looks and immediately lets her in the house??) yeah. I'm needing to change way more about this than I originally planned
