“Ladies and Gentlemen, if I say I'm an oil man, you will agree.” As today is our Final Day of Filming @chocolatelizards; my second Feature Film to be Key Grip on that involves Oilmen. Along with several commercials involving Oilfield Workers; Roughnecks now join the list of Drug Cartels, Gossiping Teens, and even Stripper Vampires, as some of the characters I have had the pleasure to light the most for film. I owe a great thanks to my Grip Team! In a time where our State is quite busy with productions; I still managed to piece together a team from grips that live at different corners of Texas, and still were able to preform as a well oiled machine. This day started with us on the side of the road on the way to Lajitas, and finishing our day, nearly missing our first of many storms to come, here on the Rio Grande River, the US/Mexico Border. I know I was vague yesterday, but after two months of house hunting, getting turned down and stressed out, we finally have a home. Sarah and I, are moving in together, signed the lease last week, and we just got the Keys, today! It’s a super nice Mid-Century Modern, over 2,000 sqft with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Tonight’s Dinner was a union of perpetration and perfect timing, as well as a tale of two grills; Fajitas with a New Years’ Surprise. I had marinated a Chicken Breast over the last 24 Hours. Prepped the Charcoal Grill, @charbroilgrills, with Mesquite Coal. Roasted Bell Peppers, Onion, and Jalapeño along side the Chicken. Pulled out the Veg to cut up and finish on the @blackstoneproducts griddle, where I had also warmed up the Tortillas. Was finishing everything up when my girlfriend, @sdiener (Sarah), arrived for dinner, and said I had a package. It was a New Years Card and Homemade Salsa from @totalboredom (Bruce)! Perfect timing and amazing addition to the Fajitas!! A Peach Habanero Salsa, to bring the sweet and heat to my prepared meat! What a series of wins for an amazing meal!!
