One could say that all oppressive systems designed to discriminate are, in effect, perpetual motion machines, in a sociological sense. They outlive their creators, the oppressors that want to feel superior by any means, because they are just cogs in a machine. They will continue until the heat death of the universe unless dismantled properly.
But cis people are a reason we suffer this much. They made the system.
"Cis people" is a broad and expansive category of individuals with varying levels of power and influence within the system of power that supports an idea of what their experiences "should" be. Cis people suffer under the system too - gnc cis people, intersex cis people, cis people of color even because gender is racialized, are all categories of cis people who suffer alongside us. Even the most stereotypically privileged strawman cis person both benefits from and is regressively harmed by the same systems that target us.
You have more in common with an average cis person than you think you do. By furthering a divide between yourself and cis people all you are doing is reinforcing and upholding the system you are claiming to hate. We're trying to dismantle systems, not recreate them with ourselves in the positions of power.

So I saw your Luz post and I want to say: Thank you so much for defending Luz's arc! It pisses me off soooo much when people criticize Luz for feeling guilty and getting depressed like BITCH WHO WOULDEN'T BE TRUAMATIZED AFTER REALIZING THEY HELPED A DICTATOR. I legit saw somebody saw that Luz shouldn't feel guilt and was "making things about herself" because it was the Boiling Isles that helped Belos rise to power and she was just a puzzle piece like???
Glad you liked the post. I like to think that understanding character arcs is my area of expertise when it comes to literary analysis. I was just kinda miffed about Lily Orchard's garbage ass take about Luz's "trauma response," and wanted to go over how I understood the character arc and "trauma response."
The funny thing about saying Luz is just a puzzle piece is that it is still saying she's important enough to Belos' rise to power to be considered essential without actually saying it. Puzzles need a bunch of pieces to be considered a whole image, and all it takes is a single missing piece to leave the picture incomplete.

This shit is heartbreaking.
Hopefully they're able to sue him and win, not only so they get some of the money they deserve, but also so that the newest noteworthy win in a plagiarism lawsuit isn't from the 80s.

... I get that a lot of people might dig the more "realistic" movement of "Next-Gen Games," but I dunno. To me, they feel so lifeless, which is ironic because they're aiming to be more lifelike. I've never really enjoyed realism in video games though, for the most part. It just always felt like game devs chasing what I call "The Hollywood High." They tend to, at least in my opinion, suck the personality out of characters in favor of that attempt to feel more "real," and I just find it super uncanny and weird.
motion capture actress 曦曦鱼sakana shows how npc moves in early games, common games and next-gen games.

SonAmy personally ain't really my bag, BUT it used to be, so I can appreciate it. Plus, the idea of Scene Amy is very accurate imo. Also, whomst is "Kelvin Quinn?" I know a Kellin Quinn, but not a Kelvin. :P

Preach this from the rooftops, scream it if you have to. After seeing storytellers and other creatives feel like they have to censor their creations to not get railed about "objectification" for like, over a decade, this is so refreshing to see.
Obviously, art can reflect how the artist thinks, but that should never be seen as a 1-to-1 thing, because it sets a dangerous precedent for critical discourse surrounding things that get made. It's better to look at most art as a funhouse mirror reflection of part of the artist's values; a warped image that isn't guaranteed to reflect all they stand for, but likely has some of it in because it is still a reflection of the person who made it.
The discourse about fictional characters being "objectified" has muddied the actual talking points of objectification of actual people. Fictional people are just dolls in a dollhouse, they only move when you make them move. They are impermanent objects due to the lack of physical form, but they are still *objects,* so there isn't anything to actually objectify.
I really think everyone needs to truly internalize this:
Fictional characters are objects.
They are not people. You cannot "objectify" them, because they have no personhood to be deprived of. They have no humanity to be erased. You cannot "disrespect" them, because they are not real.

not submission. I really hate the "My OC, my rules" thing. Cause like, no? Just because they are your oc doesn't mean you can do whatever you want with them. If you want to make your oc suffer and not like them get help, you deserve to lose rights over them. Especially if you only do that stuff to purposely trigger people. Once you do that, your oc no longer belongs to you. they belong to the public who will take better care of them instead
Making a comment to get this to post.

SLOOOOOTTTTTTTT!!!!!
Marvel Editorial: Sorry but there’s just no room for Ben Reilly in the spider-man mythos. That’s why we had to turn him into a villain for the 100th time.
Also Marvel Editorial: Anyway, we’re bringing back spider-Ock AND giving an ongoing to a new spider character that appeared just a few months ago named spider-boy.

So... @staff, I think it's pretty safe to say you've made a bad decision on the site's appearance. I get you want to have better SEO and make the site easier for newbies to understand... But why the ever loving hell did you pick two rip off freaking TWITTER? You think "Twitter refugees" are gonna come here and feel at home? Especially now that Meta launched a Twitter competitor that links to Instagram?
There's optimization and then there's being happy with Elon Musk's sloppy seconds aesthetically. Congrats, you made a site that is somehow both uglier than Twitter, AND you've managed to give a lot of your users Post Twitter Stress Disorder. At least be unique ffs.
