I got my cat a couple of him-sized plushies:
A Taco and an Octopus.
He gets very excited while playing and I wanted something for him to tear into/play attack that was not... my arm.
He loves them more than I expected.

First Show Win! In the past 24 hrs I have gone from "eh its free on PS+ I guess I'll try it" to completely obsessed with Fall Guys and snatching my first crown.
Highly recommend this stupid lil gameshow simulator to anyone who has been resisting the competitive online gaming trend lately.

Tentatively speaking up to say Lovecraft Country looks like its gonna be really good.
Only one episode is out, but the first episode sold me on the characters and the world and I am absolutely here for whatever adventure we are about to go on with them.

Visit! Share! Diary!
I went from building and painting theatrical sets and escape rooms for a living to sitting at home playing animal crossing for literally thousands of hours during quarantine and I want to share my strange little murder island for everyone to enjoy. I tried to make it a pretty immersive experience and take visitors through a number of very different and wildly distinct environments!

Yaaay! I love happy endings!
Definitely an invitation to modify his setup and prevent future outbreaks!
Hey, have you ever just... Lost your snake? I went to feed my corn snek and he staight up isn't there. In none of his hiding places, i didn't find a head poking out of the substrate. Just gone. He's bright orange so kinda hard to miss? I saw him yesterday and there is no way he could have gotten out of the enclosure.
Yes! I have... it ranks very high on most stressful moments in my life. It has happened 3 times, once with each of my reptiles.
1. First time they were still in the tank, hiding someplace I hadnt even considered. (Stuck to the roof of some decor or something like that) point was they were still in the tank! Triple and quadruple check every single thing THEN
2. Work in a circle out from the tank, looking for snake sized cubbyholes. Shoes. Boxes. Clothing wads. When cid escaped I found him on the same bookshelf, 1 shelf lower wedged behind my art supplies. When ori escaped i found her in a shoebox on the floor near her tank. Work calmly check all small spaces a snake would encounter.
3. If you dont find them in the immediate search there are ways to track/lure snakes out that I am not super familiar with as I havent had to use them including renting thermal imaging equipment (i am told its cheaper than expected), luring them out with a meal, using plastic bags as movement detectors, using flour to detect movement... the gist of all of them is prepping a meal, setting your detectors, turning off the lights, sitting quietly and hoping for the best.
4. Don't lose hope... lost snakes can turn up days/weeks/months later! But my best advice is think like a snake and work outwards from the enclosure.

😱😨 a cat certainly complicates things. Definitely keep a close eye on your fuzzy friend - they might be better at finding your snake then you want them to be.
I would do a super thorough search (still starting with the substrate/in the tank! You never know...) and tonight as it gets dark set another meal up outside his tank on the floor in the middle of a crinkly plastic shopping bag laid flat. Turn off the lights and listen for the bag to move. If you have hardwood floors, consider powdering the corners of the room with something nontoxic like flour or cornstarch and you can periodically check for disturbances in the powder layer.
Unfortunately, if they dont turn up in the initial search its often a luck game from there... but its not at all uncommon!
