"lust for life ?" she suggests, crouching down at a distance from argos and cautiously offering him the palm of her hand to sniff - while keeping her morning pastry and go cup of coffee held far away in the other, of course. he seems friendly enough. she's seen the way antigone babies him at a distance during memorial weekends and takes the way she's watched him drag dudley as another reason to be wary in case of a sudden, energetic lunge, but he cuts an angelic picture now he's been tugged to a stop. she smiles when he noses at her hand, sparing just a glance for his caretaker as she takes the hint and scratches at his ears, "putting those rugby muscles to use today, huh ?"

 “ WHOA, jesus, argos – ” dudley looks more than harrassed as he's tugged along by the absolute unit antigone's dog cuts through the crowds, his shoulder practically dislocated, hair stuck up in wild places as if he's been dragged through a hedge backwards. he's going to need to take a moment, next time he sees antigone, to try and subtly figure out if they're secretly packing guns for arms. he can't see any other way that argos doesn't end up a lost poster, to be frank. they're on their way to his favourite dog park for their daily walk, and dudley had been naive enough to think that maybe today he'd manage to get a cup of takeaway coffee on the way. instead, he's bumping into people left, right, and centre.  “ i'm so sorry, i don't know what gotten into him. ”

FOUR YEARS  OF  NOXTMS  /  six  characters  !

ft. @viiktorious ( my absolute favorite take on viktor, in the sense that no one else could ever really compare. i think you write him so well when it would be so easy for him to be very oversimplified, and one of the most pleasant surprises of this year - at least so far - has been you bringing him back to the dash ! ), @hoggleswart ( i don't know how well documented my 'sarah shahi deserves to be used more in the rpc' movement is here in nox, but i have been leading that charge for so many years and i was already so invested in roshana before you ticked all my favorite boxes in a character. i love ocs connected to existing canons in ways other than siblings or children, and i'm always a sucker for someone achingly sad ! ), @hcldmybroom ( not unlike the above, i have been wanting ambika to become the next big thing for so long that i, again, was always predisposed to loving a character using her ! there is so much - so far - untapped potential for drama with minette that makes me gleeful, and i really, really enjoy what i have seen of them so far ! ), @chacswins ( this guy is always gonna hurt my heart, and i'm always gonna be way more into that than i should be</3 you and sam are neck to neck in my personal 'most anticipated returns' list, and i'm so happy to be able to play around with you in all the angsty ways i've grown to love playing around with you in over the years of friendship and development we've had ! i'm so fond of damien in a way i think doesn't get expressed enough, and so grateful that his existence has provided me with 1. a whole character, in luca and 2. so many new layers for other characters ! ), @tosteelisms ( cara macdonald, my beloved, i am so glad that someone has finally given you a chance to thrive when you have so deserved it for so long ! she's one of my most adored creations, here, and i am so glad that i was able to entrust her into such capable hands ! you came into nox swinging, and i have loved seeing her form ! ), @acritudos ( last, but not at all least. theo nott was talked about at such length for so long that it would have been so easy for him to lose momentum but. of course. that was never going to happen in your hands. he is everything i've always dreamed of and more in terms of all the various dynamics i always wanted - with pansy, with the slytherin gang as a whole, with astoria, with ginny. with everyone, really ! - and of course it would be you that would give me those goods. how on earth could i expect any differently ! as always, i feel very lucky to write with you and develop such complex connections with you, and i hope that never changes<3 ) !

𝙰𝙽𝙾𝙽𝚈𝙼𝙾𝚄𝚂  𝙰𝚂𝙺𝙴𝙳  :   what do you think your younger self would say if they looked at who you are now?

"i'm pretty sure my younger self would try kill me with hammers if she saw me now," and here is a testament to how much ginny has changed in the last few years, when instead of that thought weighing perpetually on her mind, she throws back her head and laughs. it feels AMAZING, to be so unburdened. even temporarily. the world has only gotten worse and everything outside of the four walls of her bedsit feels dire all of the time, but it's nice to know where she stands on a few things, in life, and nicer still to know what she wants. to feel like a person, again. to have - tentatively - pressed play on the life she had paused, after the battle. she didn't know exactly what tomorrow held and she didn't know, exactly, whether she was ever doing the right thing anymore or what exactly it even was - but on an incredibly personal level, ginny had started to hope against hope, again, and that was absolutely everything. "we just lost a major quidditch game. she'd want me dead for that alone, but she wouldn't be able to stop at namecalling if she knew we were dating malfoy. i'd horrify her. i've known exactly where i wanted my life to go since i was ten years old, and it's only in the last year or so that i've realised i don't want all of that, anymore. i haven't for a while. i still have some of her dreams, but i have my own, too - and i know myself pretty well. i wouldn't be able to handle that one."

interruptions  are  never  unwelcome,  especially  not  when  they  come  in  the  form  of  those  arthur  holds  most  dear.    ⸻    his  children.  features  soften  in  fondness  as  gaze  abandons  the  new  birdhouse  he’s  been  building,  turning  attention  on  youngest  with  only  the  slightest  hint  of  hesitation.  it  isn’t  necessarily  caused  by  her  presence.  far  from.  arthur  can’t  imagine  there  will  EVER  be  a  time  when  he  isn’t  thrilled  to  see  the  familiar  faces  of  kids  that  have  long  ago  flown  the  nest.  no,  if  anything,  hesitation  is  triggered  by  his  own  shame.  the  acknowledgement  that  she  has  had  to  come  to  him,  when  perhaps  the  first  move  should’ve  been  father  to  daughter.  recent  news  hangs  over  their  head  and  he  hopes  his  silence,  up  until  this  point,  hasn’t  caused  too  big  a  rift.  it’s  awkwardness,  more  than  ignorance,  he  swears.  the  inability  to  find  the  right  words  to  start  such  a  conversation.  ＂  you  know  you’re  always  welcome  here.  especially  when  you  bring  tea.  ＂  tool  is  placed  down  and  free  hand  now  pats  the  space  on  the  bench  beside  him,  signalling  for  ginny  to  join.  ＂  i  sense  there  is  much  for  us  to  catch  up  on.  ＂  and  though  he  could  press  further,  he  doesn’t,  much  preferring  to  ease  into  such  topics  at  her  pace.

" i made it myself, " she tells him, and if it comes across as if she's fishing for brownie points, it's only because she kind of is. she wishes she was a kid again, just a little. this was all easier when she was young and lacking in the sort of social awareness that one needed to be utterly unaffected by this particular brand of awkwardness. her crush on HARRY hadn't been mortifying to start with. she'd had to learn to be embarrassed, long after she'd already bounded into his workshop on a day much like this and announced that she was going to marry harry potter. the twins had poked their fun & ron had grumbled and groaned & later, still, her peers had laughed when her carefully penned poem had been broadcast to a crowd, but the person she'd been before all that wouldn't have been so nervous and the person that she'd become much later wouldn't have been so scared. she's never actually brought a partner home. truthfully, she never thought she would, and if THEY did then she knows the one they assumed. ginny is equal parts uncomfortable with this spotlight shone down on her love life as she is the fact that it's with the proverbial enemy, and that alone probably makes this miles more difficult than need be, but... setting aside the who, she needs to remember she's a grown adult, now. she's made her choice. they both have, and remembering that does wonders for her - after hesitating for long enough, ginny finally squares her shoulders and heads in, passing off the extra mug and leaning against the dusty workbench. " i haven't forgotten who they are, " comes out in a rush, and she actively slows herself down to continue, " trust me, i haven't. i won't. but i'm not seeing the whole family. just him. he can sometimes be a real piece of work, i know, but... i like him. he's good. can you believe that ? "

5. WHAT IS A CHARACTER YOU HAVE NEVER WRITTEN, BUT WANTED TO  :  in terms of nox, george weasley, tonks, madam zabini and xeno ! i don't think i could ever pick up any of them for various reasons, but i do think i'd have had a lot of fun developing them. in terms of anything else i just have a bunch of original character ideas and nowhere to really put them. bummer, but only while i'm thinking of it !

7. WHAT CHARACTERS DO YOU RELATE TO THE MOST  :  i don't know which way i am meant to take this ! like. characters i play or just fictional characters in general. i think i've put a lil bit of myself - sometimes only the teeniest amount but still, enough - into all my played characters, so that's hard to narrow down. probably i related to keira or marietta - who share a lot of core characterisations, honestly - the most, but even then, they're very formed by their pasts in a way that makes them very unique FROM me. fictional character wise, i don't really know. i have really pondered this for the last ten minutes. i don't know ! nobody and everyone. again, i think the issue is that i can usually see something of myself in all my favorite characters which is why they're my favorite, but when it boils down to it, i don't really relate to them much. again. they're too informed by their own lives for me to really be able to.

39. WHAT WOULD YOU SAY IS THE BEST FACE CLAIM DECISION YOU'VE EVER MADE  :  oooh, tough ( especially since, not to toot my own horn, i have been kind of a trendsetter within the hp rpc ... most of my general castings have been adopted elsewhere when i was the first person to suggest them so. hehe. ). i think for nox and my own characters within it, i'm most pleased with chase sui wonders as marietta & davika hoorne as pansy - i think both suit the way i read those characters and the way i formed my take on them better than i could've hoped from anyone else, especially davika because. i struggled very much finding someone who DID fit my vision of pansy, when i finally got around to apping to her. including lumos, sandra oh / jung hoyeon as sybill & melis sezen as lily. including aurora, i will NEVER top odessa a'zion as cordelia - i don't think some of you guys know i had her casted for almost two years before i actually created aurora, and i didn't even intend on playing her. i thought i'd go for portia when the time came, to be honest. i'm pondering the entirety of my time in the rpc in gen and i think aside from those guys, the only characters i'm really proud of casting are my key marvel canons - gemma chan for jean grey, boyd holbrook for clint barton, vanessa kirby for emma frost and lindsey morgan for laura kinney. i haven't been that attached to face claim in a long time, so those are the only ones in other canons i've played and other original characters i've played where like. i'm unlikely to ever switch it up because i feel like i hit perfection already.

"hey, you-" no one can say they don't expect this of her, really. ginny has always been a little prone to skipping over passive and heading straight for outright aggression, though... the harmless little old lady she's directing her current ire towards is a bit of a change in character. you'd almost feel sorry for this current victim of ginny's early morning wrath, but, well- "yeah. you with the sneer. you wanna say that again, a bit louder ? no ?" she doesn't make any move to close the distance between them, letting her words be the force ( and what a force they ARE ; her volume rises the minute she catches the others attention proper, no shame about drawing eyes towards her ) that drives the old witch away before she's even finished, leaving ginny to call, "yeah, that's what i thought you miserable old hag-" at her back, a rant she'd have continued had it not been for the sudden realisation that the audience she has drawn includes a familiar face. without even the good grace to be sheepish when she turns to them, ginny returns to a normal, conversational volume with a cheery, "sorry 'bout that. i've become a bit of a controversial figure, lately."
