Experiment 3
Sir Gawain is on his way to the Green Palace to fulfill his promise. The large ax that The Green Knight had left him was as intimidating as it was beautiful. Despite the danger that waited in the knight’s proposal, Gawain could not help but feel anticipation of seeing him again. He was enamored with the knight's polished green armor and the confident way he spoke. Although he had set out to do this for King Arthur, he also hoped to earn the respect from the Green Knight as well and hopefully learn from him.
He was approaching a castle, and had the idea of stopping to ask if the residents knew where the Green Palace was. As he arrived he was greeted by the lord of the castle and his wife. They told him that the Green Palace was only two miles down the road, and offered for him to stay for a few days and rest before his confrontation with the Green Knight.
As he settled in, Gawain became acquainted with the lord of the castle and they talked about many things. Gawain felt like he wanted to give something in return for letting him stay but he wasn’t sure what. The lord had a proposition for Gawain, he would give Gawain whatever he hunted during the day, he would give in exchange for whatever Gawain had gained during the day. Gawain wasn’t sure what he could find during the days to give to the lord but he agreed anyway.
That night, the lord’s wife visited Gawain, offering to spend the night with him. Although she was beautiful, Gawain was troubled that she would be unfaithful to her husband, whom he had become so fond of. Although he did not have much interest in her he still allowed her to give him a kiss.
The next day when the lord returned from his hunt. In exchange for the kill, Gawain offered him a kiss. Gawain did not explain who it was from, but the lord still accepted it. Over the next few nights, the lady of the castle would visit Gawain and give him kisses, which he would give to the lord in exchange for what he had hunted. Gawain found himself spending more time with the lord each day, the lord was very kind, and he wished he could stay longer. He began to feel envious of his wife, that he could only give the lord her kisses and not his own.
On the last day, the lady visited Gawain. She offered him a green sash which she said would protect him from any harm. He hesitated as he considered that wearing the sash when confronting The Green Knight may be dishonorable, however she also had a bargain for him. In exchange for the sash, she would also give him three kisses which he would deliver to the lord. For her sake, he agreed.
As Gawain was leaving the castle and bidding farewell to the lord and lady, he gave the lord three kisses. The lord asked what the kisses were for, and Gawain simply replied that it was for their time together.
Gawain arrived at the Green Palace where he found The Green Knight sharpening his ax. The Knight was impressed that Gawain had come to keep his promise. Gawain eagerly stood before The Green Knight, ready to receive the blow. As he raised his ax, The Green Knight recognized the sash Gawain was wearing. Gawain confessed that he had given into his fear and was cheating. Ashamed of himself for betraying The Green Knight and dishonoring King Arthur, he asked the knight to strike him.
Gawain closed his eyes and braced himself for the blow. However, instead of the sharp blade of the ax, all he received were three kisses.

Experiment 2
The tiger had to spend his whole life chasing his prey. He had lived there for a long time and all of the other animals were very afraid of him. When he was younger, he would constantly be hunting and the other animals were always on guard, and so he developed his reputation. The tiger grew tired however and told the other animals that if they gave to him the largest of their own every month, he would leave the others at peace. A few of them said that they would be willing to give themselves up if it meant protecting the safety of their friends and family. Others objected, both out of fear, and at the fruitlessness of such a gesture. However, a majority agreed to the tiger’s conditions. As the months went on, the animals offered themselves to the tiger and he was pleased at having enacted this arrangement. He was able to do nothing but eat and sleep all day. He grew very lazy and slow, spending most of his days lying there. He began to sleep for longer and longer, eventually spending most of his days sleeping. The populations of the other animals were slimming, and they saw that their deal with the tiger would not be sustainable. They decided that they had no choice but to fight back. When the confronted the tiger, they saw that he was fast asleep. All the animals collectively sank their claws and teeth into the tiger. He let out a yowl and thrashed about, but he had become so slow and weak that he could not fight back. As the tiger breathed his last breath, a feast began as the animals celebrated this new time of prosperity.

Experiment 1
My will existed before I did. I am merely a byproduct of this will. I am only what this will dictates me to be, and my body and identity are simply ways this will expresses itself. This will has existed long before me and I did not exist until it decided that I should, and when it began the process of constructing me. It is a large creature covered in rough fur and sharp jagged horns, frightening to most who see it. Driven there by hunters who wish to sell its meat and bones, its only company is the dead who enter the earth. They tell it of the lives they lived above ground, how much color and detail they experienced. Living above sounded like so much fun, but creatures like it are unwelcomed by people, so it constructed a human disguise. It was able to live amongst the humans, but it couldn’t communicate with them, and so it still lived separately. Eventually, it found that there were other creatures like it who also lived amongst the humans, and they taught it human language and etiquette. The humans were still afraid of their grotesque appearances, but now it had friends to play with. In this new place, It was able to shed its human disguise and instead learned to shapeshift. With this new power, It could not only change its form to become human but could take on any form it wanted. It could be everything and nothing at once. This was Its true self. I am merely the form It inhabits at this moment.
