New found love: 2016 Air Max One Safari String
Copped
This was super impulse buy. I had Air Max before but not the ones.
I remember, I watched Nike SNKR presents: Masters of Air on YouTube and it was pretty much all about Air Max. At that time, I had no Air Max and yes, I was out to get a pair. Now, I wanted something unique and I found these at Finish Line in South Center Mall in Renton/Tukwila, WA. I already order them online and I just had to pick it up.
These are tan synthetic leather all around with neon green lining and air bubble. Mid sole is foam but not really not comfortable sole and outsole is rubber with color white and black. Toe guard, mud guard, back tab has these animal print (maybe snake, I dont know bruh).
As you can see, these are beat the hell up, but I loved these shoes. Tan shoes are kinda easy to match with anything, but as a wide footer, it's not a comfortable shoes. However I did get them for steal because not much hype around them and I got it for like $60 and right now, the most go for $225 for size 10.5 on StockX.

First Nike SB: 2016 Nike SB "Road"
Copped
I went to Nike Outlet mall in Marysville, WA strictly to get a pair of Jordan 1 high all black pair to match the all black Nike tech fleece outfit that I bought. I knew they had them because I was up there a week ago.
I went into the store, didn't look anything for anything else, grabbed my size and went to the check out line. Right before I got to the cashier, there it was...these suede Nike SBs with elephant print and gum bottom, looking cute. So I asked the cashier, what they think? My cashier, who seem like she wasn't much of sneakerhead said Jordan's because....well.... they are Jordan's. Then another cashier jumped into conversation and said he would go with the SBs for their comfort. Jordan's were $60 and SBs were $40. Also, Jordan's quality wasnt the greatest, it had synthetic leather that you know it will crease like crazy and fall apart easy.
I made the decision to put the Jordan's back and go with these Nike SBs which now I know that they are called "Nike SB "Roads".
SB which is short for Skateboarding, is Nike dunk with skateboard shoes tech. The tongues are bigger, wider shape shoes with good extra achilles support padding inside. Top base of these Roads are suede elephant print, finer than jordan 3s with phylon foam mid with gum/brown rubber soles for traction.
As you can tell my the pictures, these are my go to shoes as they are phenomenally comfortable, which you will get from most SB or skateboarding shoes.
They are true to size in length but wide which fits me great.

Ahead or Nostalgic: 2019 K Swiss Court Casper Casual
Copped
Living more office work type of life, fancy Jordan's aren't always the greatest but simple tone white casual shoes are. I was debating to get myself a pair of white on white Superstars, Stan Smith or Air Force Ones. However whenever I think of buying a pair of white shoes, you have to ask; does your everyday life may cause these shoes to get dirty easily? And my answer is yes. I often walk around my neighborhood, so getting a pair of white on white and possibly getting them dirty is highly probable. Also, living in Seattle, rain is inevitable. So, spending top dollar on white on white is risky. Luckily, I saw these on Finish Lune for less than $30. I mean, for a classic k Swiss look that is under $50 is hard to find. So, I got myself a pair of these K Swiss Casper Court.
Upper is leather mixture of synthetics. Good padding around tongue and lining with fabric. Light weight with padded foam in forefoot in midsole. Hexagon and herringbone texture rubber outsole. Comfortable, fit true to size, good for the price, will most likely crease on first wear.

Peer pressure: K - Swiss classic white on white
Memory/ copped
In year 2000, I went to my second half of 7th grade at place call College Place Middle school in Lynnwood, WA. Many diverse crowd/niche in this school but thing about Seattle that is different from Los Angeles is integration; people co exist regardless the demographics or hobbies they were into. As an immigrant, my english wasn't good, but was a good athletic. I ended up hanging with popular kids. But I had no barrier. I hung with skateboarders as well as some gothic kids, trouble makers from detention, nerdy kids; I welcomed everyone and I got the same respect.
But this was dominantly a white school. This was the time I learned about Abercrombie & Fitch and...you guessed it; K Swiss. Out of majority of kids beside gothic and skateboarders, most of the popular kids either were K Swiss or Adidas tennis shoes. This was the time I was starting to get into styles and clothes and, yes, I picked up myself a pair of K Swiss. But they were nice and clean shoes, no doubt about it. And low key, I'm waiting for K Swiss to make a big comeback.
I had the classic white on white low top sneakers.
Genuine leather on top base with 5 shoe eyetv that stretch out to mid sole. Midsole was mixed in with outsole in all white with rubber feel to it. These are not foam. Bottom is very flat with hexagon through out the outsole with K Swiss logo in the middle.
Size is pretty true to size. No issue there.

Can't go wrong: Nike Air Force Ones aka Uptowns
Memory/ copped
It was 2001. These were still times the CD releases were big deals. Jay Z dropped his first Blueprint album which got 5 Mics on The Source magazine (yes, those were things back then). Things I miss about Cassettes, CDs, or even Video games were photos, song lyrics, song details, and etc that came came in these booklets that were on the cover side of the case. I remember Blueprint's booklet and I remember seeing Jay Z in white long t shirt with baggy sky blue jean with crispy pair of white on white Air Force One low. Then in 2002, starting Beanie Sigel (Philly rapper signed with Roc-a-fella records) and his crew, came out with the movie call "State Property" which was Beanie's crew name. In this movie, everyone wear Nike Air Force Ones and it caught me and my friends attention. Shortly after we copped a pair.
Each one of us had a fresh pair. Few weeks or maybe a month later we got lucked out in local retail store call Sports Authority where these were sitting (slang for not being sold). So, they marked them down as sales for $40, which me and my friends ending up buying multiple pairs. We probably got 12 - 16 pairs among us which resulted the store to putting them back to retail price.
Some of us got lows, some of us got high, most of us got the mids. Mids were dope to me. I didn't like high version strap to hang low, so they get them dirty, and lows were good for summer time but not often in Seattle the summer is bright. So, mid was a good choice.
Air force has nice shape with quality materials like genuine leather. It doesn't have lunarlon or react outsoles, but they had heavy rubber mid/ outsole. By all means, this one not a light shoes even tho it was designed for basketball in late 80s. One of first shoes to have air bubble in the shoes (exception for Flyknit version of air force ones).
Air Force Ones were also known as Uptown's. The nickname Uptown came from New York city. These were popular to mass as Nike in late 80s. Nike might had their famous Jordan, forces were the sellers. Luckily few stores in Uptown region (Harlem/Bronx) carried these items which were used my street baller . These were known Uptown because you wouldn't see people in Downtown(business/Wall street centric) or Mid Town (Tourist area) wearing these and had to go Uptown of NYC to see them being used for playing basketball.
To many sneakerheads, these are must haves but to mass media or America, these were not popular until in 2003, Rapper Nelly from St. louise dropped his single call "Air Force One" which may these more popular and mainstream. Luckily, me and my friend were already ahead of the currents.
Forces may lose mainstream position but these will always be a go to shoes, especially the white on white. As sneaker lover, I believe, 5 shoes will always be a go to shoes. 2 of them are difficult to get, which would be Jordan 1 high (Chicago, black toes, or banned) and Jordan 3 Black Cements. Other 3 would be Timberland 6in boots with double sole, Adidas Superstars with white and black stripes, and, last but not least, white on white Nike Air Force Ones.
Go true to size, they should be bit roomie. Don't hoop in them. They should be casual shoes and idea of Forces are that you try to keep them clean because once they are strongly creased, got scuff Mark's or dirty, it's time for new pair.

Teenage Love Affair(Reebok Question White/Red Suede 2015)
Memory/ copped
It was late 1999 going into Millennium. My family moved from LA to North Seattle(Lynnwood, WA). I attended 7th grade at College Place Middle School.
7th grade is when I start to change my style from kid wearing No- Fear shirt from Target to wearing baggy Ecko jeans from Mr.Rags(true ones know). But still didn't really care or know much about shoes. I remember going shoe shopping and not knowing anything, I went to Big 5. I got a pair of Spalding's basketball shoes which had these air pockets on bottom of the shoes. I thought I was so cool.
Then, one day in PE, I saw this kid, who wasn't an athlete, he was more of a poser, walked in with these . I was like ....."WHAT ARE THOSE!!!!!". He shrugged and said "oh you don't know? These are Reebok Questions were by Iverson" with very cocky, douchebag tone that I was thinking of kicking his ass but I knew, even in my cheap ass Spalding's, I would hoop him up easy.
But no doubt, I loved his kicks. This was no longer and interest, it became desire and became my grail.
In 2015, when I was an assistant manager at Finish Line in Alderwood Mall, I picked these up ASAP.
Its white and red suede version low as I saw he had. Reebok uses tumbled leather, so these have great material. Iced sole with Non-Marking Outsole tech, and uses Hexalite cushioning in the back but believe it's just decorative for front. Tongues are mixed with mesh and kinda plasticky top in question symbol lay out with reebok logo. Heels have suede material with Q on them for Question. The insoles are one of the best I seen with shock pad on the heel and slimmer forefoot coverage but it still thicker than most of my Nike insoles.
Some say these are true to size which length, possibly, but width is not. I have wide feet and these are amazingly comfortable for my wide feet (Width D). If you wear nike and have narrow (Width B) for normal (Width C) I might say go down a half size.
My favorite go to...and I'm a NIKE HEAD!

First Crush('96 Nike Uptempo aka Pippens)
Memory
It was '96. I was still in South Korea and was in 4th or 5th grade. In korea, we have sports event day(운동회, oon - dong - hwey: Exercise event) where all students from school participate in athletic competitions such as 100m dash, tug o war, line dance, and etc.
But I remember...
I didn't care for shoes back then. I put on, I go out, I take it off when I get home, if it got holes I ask my mom to get a new one, I didn't care for brands. If anything get me a pair of shoes with my favorite cartoon character on it, light ups; shit that kid who watches cartoon a lot liked.
As I was standing around, there was a guy on top of the steps with this black shoes on with large letter wrote A . I . R on the side....
I didn't know what they were, who the guy was, and wasn't going to ask where he got them, but that was my first memory of me ever being interested in sneaker.

Introduction:
What's up, peeps.
I'm PJ.
Sneakerhead? Maybe, maybe not, but love kicks.
Its December of 2019 and I wanted to create a project for myself that will keep my occupied starting 2020. This blog is result of that boredom.
I love kicks, always have, but didn't know much about them, which I'll talk about later, but this is simple intro.
I been picking up more kicks recently, but I ain't no youtuber(at least not yet) or am I able to pick up exclusives; No. I'm an average guy who has hard time dropping $150 + on kicks on selective drops. But, I love shoes from design to materials, history, significant moments, collabs, news, technology, cost; all of the above that involves in buying shoes, especially sneakers.
So, this blog will talk about my history with shoes, what I recently picked up, what's new that I'm watching, what I pass on, why I love certain shoes and etc.
So let's go for a run, shall we?
Oh, FYI, I wear Size 10 normally. My true fit is 9.5 with wide width (Width D). I have medium arch. If it's normal shoes, I would go with size 10, so I have a bit of room to compensate for my width. So y'all know what to base it with.
