★ ━  ( grant gustin,   cis-male,   he/him )  ━ ★   just to be clear, ya didn’t get this information from me.   The person you’re lookin’ for is   MATTHEW CORNELIUS MORRIS JR..  also known as   MATT.    Last I heard they were born on   JUNE 2ND, 1987   in    JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA,   but he’s been livin’ in   GOOSE HOLLOW,    for about    SEVEN YEARS.    Word around the districts is, this cat,   MATT    can be    NEEDY,  SARCASTIC,   &   CAUTIOUS,   but i gotta tell, ya, alls I seen is good things, like the fact that he’s    EMPATHETIC,   GOOFY,    &    ORGANIZED.   I guess that depends on how well ya know ‘em, though.   the last thing ya need to know is that he works as a   REHABILITATION DOCTOR.  I don’t know much about what that’s all about but I do know that’s all I can tell ya the rest you gotta find out on ya, own.    ━     ( ooc:  ama,   est,   25,   she/her )

                           BIOGRAPHICALLY SPEAKING…

growing up he was exposed to;

Matthew Cornelius Morris Junior was born into conditions that would leave him riddled with anxiety and fear that the people closest to him would eventually leave him. His parents were what he calls a match made in hell, his father who he was named after, went to prison for armed robbery when the twins were 3 leaving them in the care of their irresponsible unstable, drug addled mother. Luckily for the twins, she had just enough smarts to drop them off with real adults before gunning it away her children, unfortunately the damage was already done. the twins despite being under proper caregiving now were crying nonstop, but unlike normal kids who would probably have colic- the kids were going through withdrawal from meth. Matt “sobering” transition went a lot smoother then his younger brother’s, watching Eli have to go in and out of hospitals because of heart condition due to the meth- made Matt upset and helpless that he couldn’t do much for his bro. Other than that though, the twins lived a relatively normal life, playing sports, being able to do normal boy stuff.

It was in 8th grade when they were granted back into the care of their mother, Matt felt uneasy the whole time- kind of waiting for the other shoe to drop. His mother slowly gained back his trust though and he was back to being the good little boy, until one day they came home from school and saw their mother on the floor. Matt had to perform CPR as he instructed Eli to call 911. Doing all he could do for his mom before the ambulance got there, the boys ran out of the house and hid away at a friend’s house to avoid having to see their mother carted away. It was then that the relationship between mother and son would never be fixed.

Overall- Matt grew up pretty happy, outside of his parents being the most unreliable people on the planet, he had his aunt, his uncle, and his grandparents who adore him because they don’t know he’s demisexual.

all about the family & their relationships;

Eli is Matt’s twin brother, their relationship is pretty solid. Womb to Tomb for real for real. No one is a bigger supporter for them then themselves, from sports when they were young to their career choices now. They do fight and bicker like sibs do, but overall they know they would always have each other’s back and that’s love dude.

Eevee is Matt’s wife, a marriage that Matt feels like benefited him more than her and he does his best to make it up to her. Matt believes Eevee could do way better than him and is just waiting for the day she asks for annulment because she met the right person for her. He is immensely proud of her and her career, he thinks she is the most adorable human ever and supports the hell out of her. Despite being technically single- he would rather show up to her place with a bottle wine and a dvd from the 5 dollar bin to spend the evening with his wife. He has never confessed that he might have real feelings for her because he is scared and values their friendship.

Auntie Jessica - raised them and Matt sees them more as a mother and father than his actual mother. she took care of them and he wants to do the same for her one day, he tries to give her money but she always rejects it.

Grandma & Grandpa - homophobic pricks that matt has mixed feelings about. they treat him very kindly because they don’t know about his sexual orientation but matt likes the idea of inheriting all their crap and giving half to bi as hell bro. suck pop pop and meemaw

his occupational perspective;

Matt loves what he does, he does sometimes take it personally though. Working with people in recovery could be messy because people fall of the wagon a lot and it’s like a reminder of his mother. Matt has a big hero complex, which can be a good or bad thing in a doctor but he chooses to see it as a good thing. He is dedicated to his craft. He won’t let his patients slip and fall like his mother did.

                          BIOGRAPHICALLY SPEAKING…

growing up she was exposed to;

Growing up with her mom in London half the time, and half the time in Portland with her father, life was always an adventure for Nikohl Gallagher.  Most of her time spent with her mom was full of light and laughter, color and art and dancing and singing along to Stevie Nicks and Nina Simone, her mom was her best friend.  Weeks in Portland with her dad were filled with laughter, but also structure, where her mom would teach her how to paint a sunset, her dad would teach her to change a tire.  Her relationship with her parents were different, but special nonetheless, though the nature of her parents’ relationship together was a whole other story.  For most of her childhood they seemed so deeply in love, Nikohl remembers wanting to find love like that, until one day her dad was packing his bags, and telling her he was going back to the US, and that he’d see her as often as possible. From then on out it was overheard arguments over the phone,  disagreements on just about everything, her mom crying at night, her dad dating endless strings of women to fill the void of his first love.  But that never took away from the love her parents showed her in each of their homes.

They both also nurtured Nik’s love for dancing, starting at a young age, she showed a gracefulness and fluidity well beyond her years, it was almost as if she was made specifically to be a ballerina.  At first her parents just thought it was a childlike wonder for pink tutus and glitter, they soon began to realize that it was the one thing that truly made their daughter happy, never had they seen her smile like she did when she was dancing. It cost a lot of money, but the Royal Ballet School was the obvious answer for the betterment of Nikohls future, and so with extensive training, a lot of overtime hours and they sent her there. She spent ages eleven through nineteen at their boarding school, training with some of the best, and between school, and traveling between home and Portland, the girl had to grow up rather quickly, but her parents also never let her loose her childlike wonder.

the road to portland starts with;

Her dad is originally from Portland, and so she grew up between London and Portland since her parents were separated when she was young.  She lived at the Royal Ballet School during the school years, and then spent half her summer with her dad, and the rest in London with her mom, with her dad flying back and forth to visit her as well. She officially moved back to Portland when her dad was getting sick, being his only living family, she felt it was her obligation to take care of him.  After he died, she stayed to take care of his estate, and after that, she decided to stay because it felt like running away from her obligations, and at the time, she needed a place to run. Now, she’s here because she found a family in the Oregon  Ballet Theater, giving her a space to express herself a little more,  unlike her old company.

where her passions reside;

The obvious answer to this would be dancing, ballet is Niks heart and soul, her lifes breath. But she also loves her friends, as an only child, finding a home in people was always her way to survive, so she cultivates a good group of friends to become her family. She’s also passionate about activism in all walks, but especially, as someone who didn’t find their sexuality until their mid twenties, she’s very passionate about LGBTQ+ activism.  She loves art, and hosting dinner parties on her thrift-ed mismatched plates for all of her friends.

asdfghjksdfghjsdfghj... that’s just a hard choice. It just is. I see why you’re struggling. Arsonic to my lips I’d have to pick, Manny, I think, but you should go with your gut. Go with your heart. I know they've played similar characters with the same energy, because Miggy and Jason, two halves of the same pure soul, but if you ignore that deep down you know what you have to do. what types of characters or fcs would you like to see more of?

First & foremost, I would like to see the character’s that you’re passionate about. The characters that you’re excited to bring and so hyped to explore that you just love because that’s the only way people stick around rps long term is if they have characters that make them excited and happy and I want to see that and interact with that and help you grow that. 

Secondly as far as cool character ideas, maybe it’s because I’ve watched Palm Springs one too many times, but if someone brought a nihilist, I think that would be interesting. If someone brought a survivalist or a conspiracy theorist, that could be interesting. Someone pretending to be or actually is psychic or a medium or spiritual could be fun to explore that kind of eccentric vibe. Characters who are religious and are open about it in non-toxic ways, because it’s apart of how they grew up and who they are and what they believe in and their culture. 

Thirdly I think not being afraid to explore the more obscure careers for characters would be dope to see. I answered this question a while back about careers and some of my favorites on this list are: Color expert, Hippotherapist, Flavorist, Art Therapist, Bed Warmer, Sommelier, Master Marijuana Extractor. Bonus points if you have a POC with any of these jobs because that would just be dope. --sidenote, speaking of a Sommelier please go check out the movie Uncorked. It’s on Netflix. It’s so good and so interesting.
