Keith opens his eyes; immediately regretting the movement— his head hurts. Too much. The Commander’s eyebrows shoots up, he looks bored. “Didn’t think you’d wake up,” he says.

Tksh. Tksh. Tksh.

The commander opens his mouth, toothpick in between his teeth. “Dinner today was sticky,” he looks to Keith, grinning. “Might throw my cook out in the airlock. What d’you think paladin?”

Keith opens his mouth, the taste is bitter— like he hasn’t brushed his teeth in a week (he would know, these days in the desert weren’t his greatest). His head still hurts too much. “Where am I?”
