the falcon who flew too close to the sun
‘So much saccharin drivel has been written on the subject of Anne Boleyn, so many Hollywood movies made, so many bodice-buster romances produced, that we serious historians are supposed to avert our gaze from the tragic soap opera of her life and concentrate on the meaty stuff – like the social and political origins of the Reformation or the Tudor revolution in government. But, try as we might, we keep coming back – time and again – to the subject of Anne, because it turns out that she was, after all, historical prime cause number one.’
– Simon Schama, A History of Britain

I feel like taking risks professionally has always really paid off for me. I don’t think about work being risk-taking and strategic moves. I just think if I don’t do different things, I get bored, so most of the changes – the decision to play a prostitute or a woman who can’t have a baby – are born out of boredom in a way. Not boredom, but like a sense of adventure. I feel like doing Secret Diary was a massive risk, but I didn’t feel the risk and I think that backfired a bit, but it led me to you! So I feel like some of the backlash from that was worth it. I feel like everything is part of some cosmic plan.

Being attracted to men is an endless cycle of “Wow he’s good looking” and watching that man do the absolute most to show you he’s hideous on the inside.

any post about a “group chat” just reminds me of how it feels like everybody in the world already has their little group of friends and i’m just kinda constantly floating in and out of people’s outer circles, so even if they consider me their friend they’d be just fine without me since they have so many people they like more than me
