A large portion of the online book community has been participating in a months-long marketing boycott against St. Martin’s Press, a publishing imprint under MacMillanβ€”a Big Five publishing houseβ€”and against associated imprints underΒ St. Martin’s Publishing Group. The boycott started in October after community members found anti-Palestinian and Islamophobic posts as well as misinformation related to the genocide in Gaza being posted on social media by a St. Martin’s Press employee. As of writing, the boycott continues, with the publisher largely unresponsive to allegations underlined by the campaign, which include unequal treatment toward BIPOC creators and authors by the publisher.Β

Part nine of three random books from my queer fiction masterlist! Have you read any of these? What were your thoughts?
❀️ Several of the books on this list are self-published or do not get a lot of recognition, so I thought, what better way to share than use a random number generator to grab 3 books at a time and share them with all of you!
πŸ’› For right now I am focusing on the first in a series or books that can be read as standalones. I also try to skip over any that might be blatantly harmful.
πŸ’š So what do you think? Think you will be adding any of these books to your TBR?

πŸ‰ Queer Palestinian Books πŸ‰
πŸ‡΅πŸ‡Έ The algorithm is going to keep silencing my posts, but they're not going to silence me. I grew up with little to no books that made me feel seen as a queer/bisexual Palestinian Arab American. Today, it's still not easy enough to find those books online, even though we have thousands of lists, posts, and directories to guide us. To make your search a little easier, here are a few queer Palestinian books to add to your TBR. Please help me spread this by reblogging. Consider adding these to your least for Read Palestine Week (click for resources)! πŸ’œ
πŸ‰ The Skin and Its Girl by Sarah Cypher πŸ‡΅πŸ‡Έ A Map of Home by Randa Jarrar πŸ‰ Hazardous Spirits by Anbara Salam πŸ‡΅πŸ‡Έ To All the Yellow Flowers by Raya Tuffaha πŸ‰ You Exist Too Much by Zaina Arafat πŸ‡΅πŸ‡Έ The Specimen's Apology by George Abraham πŸ‰ Birthright by George Abraham πŸ‡΅πŸ‡Έ Nayra and the Djinn by Iasmin Omar Ata πŸ‰ Where Black Stars Rise by Nadia Shammas and Marie Enger πŸ‡΅πŸ‡Έ The Twenty-Ninth Year by Hala Alyan πŸ‰ Guapa by Saleem Haddad πŸ‡΅πŸ‡Έ From Whole Cloth: An Asexual Romance by Sonia Sulaiman
πŸ‰ The Philistine by Leila Marshy πŸ‡΅πŸ‡Έ Love Is an Ex-Country by Randa Jarrar πŸ‰ Shell Houses by Rasha Abdulhadi πŸ‡΅πŸ‡Έ Queer Palestine and the Empire of Critique by Sa'ed Atshan πŸ‰ Belladonna by Anbara Salam πŸ‡΅πŸ‡Έ Confetti Realms by Nadia Shammas, Karnessa, Hackto Oshiro πŸ‰ Blood Orange by Yaffa As πŸ‡΅πŸ‡Έ The ordeal of being known by Malia Rose πŸ‰ Decolonial Queering in Palestine by Walaa Alqaisiya πŸ‡΅πŸ‡Έ Are You This? As many of you know, I've been working on creating a masterlist of LGBTQIA+ books where you can filter by genre, representation, relationship, target age group, and more.

my friend's book comes out today!!
Tumblr media
[ID: a lavender book cover with two white women in Victorian gowns giving each other side glances and holding hands. The title reads "Don't Want You Like a Best Friend" and the author is "Emma R. Alban." end ID]
A swoon-worthy debut queer Victorian romance in which two debutantes distract themselves from having to seek husbands by setting up their widowed parents, and instead find their perfect match in each otherβ€”the lesbianΒ Bridgerton/Parent TrapΒ you never knew you needed!
I'm so proud of Emma!! If you like queer historical romance like The Queer Principles of Kit Webb, you should pick up this book.

Note
literally thank you so much for this book list, it's the only place I've been able to find books about trans women that aren't a smattering of YA high school novels. my girlfriend is trans and we just thought there were no options but I've found such incredible stuff in the masterlist
I don't know when you sent this, but I just wanted to say thank you! I'm really glad you've found the list helpful!
