random question. I think your art is very pretty and nice to look at for clarification. But how did you gain the confidence to post your art? I’ve wanted to post mine but I get nervous about it. Thanks in advance!

my love! if you make your art for yourself- if you make your art because YOU like making it and not because you want to impress anyone.... then you should post. i started posting in part to find other people who resonated with what i do. you are far more likely to connect to other people if you take the chance to post.... but that won't happen if you don't post at all.

you will always and only gain in proportion to what you risk. that's true in vulnerability in all kinds, not just the vulnerability of posting your self-expression. go risk your heart, beautiful fool!!! she'll be stronger for it.

How do u get ur art to look like that?Like…rly, it’s so painterly but still has the saturation that I think makes digital art interesting. I’m getting into digital art but all my stuff looks so flat T-T any tips?

i'd say my #1 tip to making expressive art is to never over-polish! imperfection is good in expressive art. it's more raw. draw with your feelings, not what looks good in the technical sense. make it look like how your soul sees rather than how your eyes see. does that make sense? i hope that makes sense.

i feel the same way when it comes to colors. i try to make it look like what it FEELS like, rather than what it looks like. so the more intense and freeform the colors and shapes are, the better. anything to exaggerate the emotion.

maybe another tip i would give you to doing this is to always go back to your initial sketch layer every once in awhile when painting. it can be easy to get lost in trying to make it look polished and clean, but the sketch layer is always there to remind you what the piece felt like when you first put feeling into the page. i think those initial markings always reveal a lot of the original energy and care that birthed the desire to make the drawing in the first place, so it's always worth returning to.

so basically: 1. dont over polish 2. draw how you feel not how you see 3.when you get lost, chase down the feeling you started with and capture it again.

reread soil that binds us again and *god* ‘luci and sunshine’ is such a perfect gut punch of a chapter. everything about it comes together so well. when i read this chapter for the first time i was literally gasping every other page near the end. utterly stellar work

hi!! not sure if it’ll help but just wanted 2 say that i struggled w carpal tunnel for a loong time and normal wrist braces didn’t help at all but the one thing that rly did work was the Wrist Widget brace! it’s meant for tfcc tears but it gave me instant pain relief + support while not being bulky like a normal brace!! sending so so much love ur way <3

aight i’m accepting it. i gave my dumb ass carpal tunnel

i been trying to dodge the diagnosis for years but im in too much pain every day to keep ignoring it. luckily i have a good foundation of practicing with my left hand so im gonna keep pursuing that (can't keep the dog down man. i love drawing way too much) but my art is slowing down SIGNIFICANTLY as a result of it.... just thought i'd mention it in case you wonder where i'm at. i wanna draw more than the sun wants to burn but it just hurts a lot rn..... WOOF!
