Day 5 : Chicken

My favorite chicken! Not for eating but for companionship. ❤

Decided to try and use watercolors for todays prompt. Some colors got muddy because my water brush wasn't able to clean itself well anymore. Aside from that I pretty much like how it turned out!

Day 4 : Spell

So much for keeping it simple. I couldn't resist making art of my DnD character, Luxie(Look-see-ey) Ashcroft. The prompt just fit her perfectly.

I tried to mix and match different types of shading technique, I think I could have gone crazier bit I was too afraid to ruin the illustration.

Still I like how this turned out! My best piece so far.

Critiques are very much welcome! Especially with the shading.

At first I thought if drawing food items that were usually roasted, then I got a little carried away.

The line work was inspired by Kasey Golden(https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCNwJz8-bLJge72TzJu4ARUA)

Kasey Golden's style is simple and her character designs are super unique. This piece is basically inspired by her simplicity and whimsy.

At first they were going to be regular food items but then I decided to make characters of them by adding feet, arms, eyes, etc.

I uses the Beginner Calligraphy Brush Pen Set and I used a green highlighter to add some splash of color to the illustration.

Testing out my new dip pen. So far so good! I like the different nibs included in the pack but my favorite nib is the one that makes thin crisp lines.

There's some bleeding happening here because I'm using cheapo paper, but I noticed if I used less ink, it doesn't bleed too much. Control and how deep I dip my nib into the ink is something I practice.

I'm still pretty new to hatching/cross-hatching, but I like the texture it gives to the illustration.

Over all, love it! <3
